  1. Solo starts @2:34

    That is exactly how it should be done! And I agree @@Latsch, that it is hard now to find a band that soloing such way now always. Metal now is have a bunch of subgeners and so on, but I think all this labels, like we are "pop-metal-trashy-death band" and we are "djenty-neo classical-core band" is a stupidy! I never look at genre, the only thing we should to consider is sound, and I'm sure that you can find a bands you will really like even when they call themselfs 'Metal' ones.

  2. Whoa, its is getting really hot here! And it is good or it will be very boring, right?

    @@Shiroo thx for the videos, I've watched every of them, and @ -- yours too. I have no doubt that band consists of pros, but my point is that you can be virtouso guitar player but your music can be really boring, or became boring after 3-4 songs. What do I mean, look for example at Zakk Wylde: the first songs I've heard with him was Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley (classics, I think), I thought "what a guitar god!", then when I become more educated in this aspect I found that this solos were written and first performed by Randy Rhoads, and I started to looks for Zakks own compositions, stoped on his Black Label Society and realized that he on EVERY solo simply shredding with a wah pedal his pentatonics like a mad sometimes inserting a few transitions from his arsenal. Maybe it is ok for improvisation, but you have more time on recording a song! Let's go to Yngwie Malmsteen, the same thing: every thing he do sounds the same, first time you look him and say "guitar god!" but tenth time you look him you will say "How that differs from previous songs???". In a few words: some pro guitarists at some point stop moving forward and making their music unique, they stuck in fast speed shredding with some of their well learned scales, melodies, arpeggios and so on... Great solo is going into your head and your are imagine how it sounds. When I listen to some song I like, often before a solo I can stop music and continue to play in head some melody in a base of the next solo, not 100 percent accurate but I expect something. Sherding is saved for me like there will be a shreding that will go high low and so on and I remember some, I don't know how to say it, solouhete of it. My english skills seems to be limited in describing such things. My point: there should be some feeling, idea (how to name it?) behind a solo.

    Returning to babies, headbanger solo lasts 7 seconds, 7 second solo in a as they say HEAVY METAL song! That's how I imagine this: "A: We need make a popular hit guys, so no solo, as average listener likes djenty riffs and screaming, Guitarist: plz, plz you can't do this. A: Ok..... so take this 7 seconds and do what you want!".  And maybe I'm stupid, but this solo saved in my mind like simple shred with no idea behind it. Solo isn't the showoff of your skills it should be the result of some idea or feeling on a song, and your skills should be considerd as a tool, or better say they should be your colors and brush if your are an artist! And we have already 4 videos with one below, find a solo in each of them, and compare... they are all different, but sounds like suiting this place. Why? that because this 4 are all meaningless shred that should fill that 7 second gap.

    About the "Kami band instrumental": it is even not a song! It is another showoff of skill, nothing more. It is from the same row, when Kirk H. goes and starts crazy playing alone in beginning with hands, than with mouth and then with ass. It is funny, but it is NOT an instrumental song. And of course we hear there another shred.

    Hahaha, newbie teaching pro guitarist how play they solo. It look like someone played random notes insteed solo, and got dissapoint by sounds.

    I don't teach anybody, but points that it is another shred scale run. And I dissapointed on how it sounds in original too (I, of course, can't play it at all :))

    woooh, Have reread all my long post... And made a decision to myself: the part lasts 7 seconds, it is short, so I will consider it a transition filler, not a solo. In that case it is OK to have in that place some shred....

    And while I were writting this, it looks everybody congratulations @@fiddlesticks. Take my best wishes too, man!

  3. @@fiddlesticks Good new score!

    And I've tried today play some babymetal, I don't understand such kind of music. For me it sound more like cacophony... Really, at first I don't understand how we get such tricky chords in the tab, I tried to listen to the song multiple times and I really doesn't feel any difference between fancy chords and their simplified version (it is a distortion and moreover double distortion guitars, Carl!). But rocksmith is punising you for every note in them! And that solo (what I said?? solo???)... if I need to make a tab for this, I will go to the cemetery dig a grave, lay in it and die. How you can make a tab for a random note picking around a guitar? Oh sorry, it is not a fully random it moves from high string to bottom and back with moving hand position down-up-down, that's all! Even in youtube music video version they made a solo soo quite that somebody may not notices that there is one. But I know how to fix it, we should send a @@then3verend to their band, from the score it seems he can now play not random solo, but that what recorded in this tab -- I bet he sounds much better than this sloppy show-oriented band. I don't want to harm somebodys feeling, simply writing what I think.

  4. And I am posting what I have mentioned above: download link.

    It is a Sigh -- Corpsecry done with DropDd tunning (-2 0 0 0 0 -2). Why e-string is also putted down? Cuz it is easy to play a part with much of this string open in the beginning of the solo. And why I've made it: I don't want to tune down much, managed to get only 2 strings, at first were trying to make it DropD but that solo part... Tab were get simply by transposing all notes on middle strings two frets up, when impossible (open, first fret) notes were moved to the next string (only 4 such notes as I remember) + additionaly there were some places where distance to reach note on bass D string were too high (lower frets are wider) so I moved them to A string.

    And of course my score:

  5. And another question to organizators: I've tried to use pitch shift in GR5 and it sounds like crap. I've made a E string (no moving notes) and then I go further and make a DropDd(1st and 6th strings are droped 2 semitones) version and that is a really fun to play now and is easy to tune back to E stan and Drop D (especially for headbangeeeeeeerrrrrrs :D ). I will polish some moments (it looks like EOF deleted some palmmutes during transpose) and publish it here in thread with Estand(no transpose) and DropDd versions as arrangements. Is it OK, don't I come over some rules?

    I've made a DropDd version, it seems I can't add two bonus arrangements the same time, so no E standard (with no moving frets). Waiting for somebody to approve my doings and I will post it here. And song is really fun to play it has a good speed and I think it will become pretty easy after some time in RR and solo doesn't match class (for me it really looks more like an intermediate song, diff is the same as Buckethead some time ago).

  7. Babymetal... that screaming little girls, they are more focused on show than on music I think. And adv lead is D, I'm upset: last time I've tuned to D my strings got broken when coming back. Maybe will make it E standard and use pitch shifter in guitarrig, will my score be elegible after such modification?

  8. @@TrbInTrbIn It's your decision not to post screenie, but it is unfair, so you shouldn't talk about that.

    You are right... If I get such score I should go to MC, also I realized that I don't want to play another song struggling with recognition and nerves more that with a song itself (I think players with 99+ will support me that it is really hard to play and make only 2-3 misses). Yesterday idea of getting points in LB were driving me and I was afraid that MC songs will be too hard for me, cuz this week ADV vs MC have a huge gap between them on my opinion, that muffin song is kinda crazy.

  9. Now adding some challenge to adv lead and increased a score on rhythm (Will not post it, I don't want to be MC :P  only say it is 99.03). Decided to play muffin man, ended -- than lightning struck and AC/DC song started for me to play somewhere near my house, I forget to make screenshot, that repeated and get the same result :) Also make fun with Maiden rhythm in MM and get 96 percent, when lightning struck again and I lost my screenshot the second time...

  10. @@solservo sorry mate, but looks like you might have too !

    You just need to get 2 or fewer misses to better my score, you can do it !

    There 1976 notes so he can make 5 misses, @@solservo it is chance much better than two  :lol: And it seems somewhere in my subconscious I don't want go to MC, the result is scores below:

  11. "The item rocksmith patcher that the shortcut refers to has been changed or moved."

    Have you at least try to read you second message with, I suppose, error message that stops your from playing? Does it says that patcher would no longer work or, lets think..., maybe it says that you shortcut linked to a file that doesnt exists... so it seems that patcher has been deleted... maybe that is antivirus?? or something else?? no matter, simply go and put patcher back on the place shortcut is linked.

  12. So the intonation was alright... (edit) or is it?

    So my tuner shows it to me like that:

    1E = high e-string

    2B = b-string

    3G = g-string

    4D = d-string

    5A = a-string

    6E = low E-string

    Remember, i got the issues only with the low E-string. So if i tune the guitar now and start doing the flaggeoletts at the high e-string the tuners shows me 1E, 2B, 3G, 4D, 5A and 1E!!

    Is that right? Should it show it to me as 6E or 1E? :P

    That is a wrong way to check tuning! Natural harmonic on 12th freat will ALWAYS be octave higher than open string pitch. To really check your intonation you should play string normally at 12th fret and ensure that it plays as close to octave higher than normal as possible. I've setup my intonation few days ago and can say tune-o-matic bridge allows to fix intonation by 15-25 cents, no more.

  13. My first score for this week. I have huge troubles with recognizing that palm-muted chord arpeggios, I were trying to play it like "take a chord with left hand and play with right, it is palmmuted and I don't need to mute notes sequentaly", ended in taking only one note at time with lefthand. I've set up new cobal strings and they are sounding like a beasts, volume increased a lot, all my guitarrig presets that were clean now sounds crunchy, but there is another side of such sensivity -- every string that makes a tiny bit of noise ruins everything you are playing. Now I sometimes turn volume knob to 7-8 instead 10, have never used it before (was always 10). Funny moment: I accidentally bought 7string set, that came back to the shop and wondered: the same cobalt 6 string set costs twice more! The minus is that 7 string set has havier bottom strings: my tunepegs were never turning soo hard, and it looks like strings have bowed neck a bit and increased action of strings, also the 52 string don't perfectly feat a hole in a top bridge.

    About song  :lol: I am not sure, but maybe 1-2 notes in the ends of that palmuted series should be normal (no mute). And that solo... really I don't like learning such kind of solo, sometimes it is much easier to make something random that goes to you head with many bends and that will sound very similiar. Also from recognition point rocksmith tend to deny every crazy bend in them. It will be very helpfull if anybody splits that 2 solos inside to more parts, now it is really hard to learn.

  14. Decided to finish this week on old strings, cuz song needs to make a lot of crazy bends, turned saddles to the nearest to the headstock position (only managed to decrease error from 45 to 20-30 cents) and tuned e-string more sharp to get best results on high frets. And then after 2-3 hours of playing, I were close to desired result but always were missing some chord or some stupid easy note... The last attempt was next,, cuz it were already 1:00 am here, I retuned guitar and I played song and sign it in my mind and I can say that this trick helps to get rid of nerves... So that is the result:

  15. @@TrbInTrbIn simply because i don't need much space, have only my os running on ssd, and using raid 1 for rendering and stuff. And the one thing probably why i didn't have bought two 500gb or even two 1tb was because i had no money in my pocket anymore. I had only € 3.000 not only fo my pc but also keyvoard, mouse, headset, display, external hdd and stuff. Now i could upgrade my pc again, but i'll wait till the prices go down a bit.

    Maybe i'll do a raid 10 or some more raid 1's for rendering and i'm waiting for win 10 to get ready for more performance improvement and so on. So my capacity to buy new stuff is right, just have to wait for few things.

    I mean to buy one 500 Gb SSD instead of two by 240...
