Hello CS! Finally got my guitar fixed. I don't plan on being eternally missed, so here's that to get the rust off. Life's been hard this week, I've only got a couple first plays. http://i.imgur.com/jQ08jAE.jpg I happen to be really familiar with this song, it gets a lot of play on a radio station I listen to so I knew what I was getting into right away. The fingering threw me off a little but I got the hang of it by the end. http://i.imgur.com/VRREf7F.jpg Couldn't get my hand to move quick enough for the hammer-ons, something I'm going to have to practice for sure. But sadly, that's the last of my scores for the week. After this, my high E broke, and I'm super tight on money so I don't know when I'll be able to get fresh strings. :unsure: Hopefully before Motive passes me in Advanced Lead!

I don't know, man, if we take what makes the most girls take off their clothes as the metric for good music, then Mumford and Sons are the new virtuosos, and their playing is anything but brilliant. I'd much rather have a girl who wants to bone me after I successfully play something like Canon Rock over fucking Wonderwall. :P

Haha, I was mostly kidding - I don't advocate playing drunk. But I really do believe that just a few drinks loosens you up and does good things to your sound. Back when I was playing live, I'd have a couple beers over the course of a set. Didn't make me sound any worse, and definitely made me rock out more!

I know what you mean. I'm starting to feel like I'm transitioning into MC lead, but that's a really intimidating thing to do when I've been putting MC scores up and not coming anywhere near the competition. I know full well that it's going to be months before I get to where the likes of fripp and Nacho are now. And who knows where they'll be by then?! :blink: Coming into another really busy week, but I've got my first runs: http://i.imgur.com/RIJMlH0.jpg Coheed is one of my favourite bands of all time, it's about time they show up in the competition. :) Had these guys blaring on my iPod most of my freshman year, seen them live a couple times too. Every musician is just mindblowing. This is my first time playing this particular track, but in the ten-ish other Coheed customs I have, the rhythm is usually just as fun (or even more so) than the lead, so I'm looking forward to playing the hell out of this one. http://i.imgur.com/O8iEgTE.jpg I'm one of those people who doesn't mind Blazikiller's picks constantly coming up because we have really similar music taste, haha. First time hearing this song/band, quite the pleasant surprise. In terms of difficulty, I'd say it rides the line between MC and Advanced - it's no Buckethead or Steve Vai, but a couple parts in it transcend Advanced class. Accuracies will naturally look quite inflated due to the nature of the song (ultra-fast chord picks with little switching), but I think that actually nailing this is an MC task.
