  1. It's possible they maybe able to be inserted from the backend so you don't have to insert them all manually, however I don't deal with CDLC's so i'm not 100% sure, though no doubt when one of the other Dev's that do deal with it are on, they might be able to tell you better.

I would think it would hurt to insert that many in the backend.

  2. I don't use straight tabs for the most part.  Usually it's a combination of whatever meager tabs I can find, a video or two (or three), and listening really hard.  The ones done straight from tabs are from physical tab books.  It would be difficult for me to provide sources for a lot of songs.

  3. I like the spirit of the idea, but I'm not sure it needs to be so formalized.  I'd be happy with a sub-forum in the Workshop for collaborations.

If we're just taking people's customs, changing them and re-uploading them, I can see it quickly spiralling out of control, like the tabs on ultimate-guitar.  10 different tabs for each song, but which one is correct?

  4. Marty-  I'v been adding leading silence in Audacity before I even start the EOF project.  I export as an .ogg to use in EOF and a .wav to bring into Wwise and then cut it down to a 30 second clip with a fade in and fade out to use for the preview.  It seems to be the easiest way to do it to me.

  5. Yeah, it's a bit above my abilities to play at the moment too.  I thought it would be a nice slow one to start with but apparently I need something even slower if I'm expecting to keep up.

I'll definitely keep going with it.  Just taking it a bit slowly so that I have time to actually play guitar  :-P.  I also tend to start a bunch of customs and let them breathe for a bit before finishing them up.

  6. I used to put milk and sugar in my coffee but whenever I was at a restaurant or diner the server would top me off and totally throw off my mix.  Then I would fix it and live in fear that she would return before I needed more.  I learned to just take it black and like it.

  7. Yeah, it would be different depending on whether it's a bend or slide.  Assuming you mean slide:

    • Select each of the 7/10's, hit N to bring up the note menu and check the linknext box.  This connects the sustains in-game and removes the noteheads so it looks continuous.
    • Select the second 7/10, hit control+up arrow and enter 8 as the end fret.

I think that's it, unless I'm missing something.  If it's a bend it might be a little more complicated, requiring tech notes. Still not too difficult though.  Good luck!

  8. The super long solo is overdubbed and the other guitar keeps going with the same pattern (with variations) underneath it.  I did guitar 1, switched to 2 for the solo, and went back to 1 for the outro since that's what I found a tab for.  It's the same situation as Have Love, Will Travel.

  9. I'm pretty ambivalent about this whole thing.  There were plenty of songs on the other site that were perfectly playable and fun that for whatever reason never got "approved" by whoever did the approving.  If I want to know if a song is done well, I look at the comments.  If there are none, I just download it and take my chances.  If it has problems, I wait for the author to update it.  It probably helps that I don't download a ton of customs, only the ones I want to learn.

I'm not against an approved section, but I don't see a compelling reason to be for it either.

  10. You could just do a slide to 1 and pull off to the open string, although it wouldn't be a true pull off I guess.  It would just be lifting your finger off the string.  I think that's how I would physically do that anyway, although I've never had that situation come up.
