  1.

It only lists ASIO in the specs and thats all the driver program included.  I had to install the ASIO driver before it would work in windows.

Now maybe there is something 3rd party driver that could force it but I didn't delve that deeply.   I am going to double check those audio settings when I get home but pretty sure tthey are setup correctly.

I had no luck using my Steinberg DR22.  My config is set exactly like Motive... and no dice.  Game gives me an error that no audio device is detected and tells me to close.

Believe it all depends on your output compatibility.   RS can't do ASIO (which is what mine uses).  Looks like the U46Xl Esi has multiple modes (WDM being the magic bullet).

Steinberg DR22 should have WDM drivers as well! It works in windows right?

Glad you got it working! There have never been ASIO support in windows(though that would be great). But the WDM drivers are propably packed with the ASIO that you downloaded.

  3. Pardon my penny's worth gentlemen.  I don't know if it would make any difference or not but the sample rate of my Rocksmith USB cable is set to 48000Hz (DVD Quality).  I would have thought 11025 Hz (Dictation Quality) would sound pretty rubbish with music.  Just a thought.

I second this! How can amazingly crappy resolution of 11025hz NOT be a problem?

I believe you should take the number 48000Hz very seriously.

  4. Hmmm no but, you may be able to use it in conjunction with your realtone cable and still gain a better sound.
Try to use the realtone cable by attaching the jack-end to the output of the iRig and the usb-end to your pc? Then use a regular cable for the connection between guitar and iRig.

I run a regular cable from my guitar to my noisegate and then use the realtone cable from the gate to the pc. Works good for me, especially on very noisy tones.
