  1. 2 cents worth.

    For the ratings system?

why not just have a simple rating system that all registered users can vote on, say 5 star averaged over the votes cast. I would be happy enough to know what other users thought to base whether to download or not.

    Open source?

why not have a charter rating "openSource", if the charter accepts this he gets a symbol to signify this on his CDLC uploads and that lets everyone else know that charter is happy for others to improve on their work, they then submit it back to the original charter for approval, and to stop doubles. ( if they don't respond within a certain time, they automaticly give permission for the new upload by default.

It may be simplistic by why over complicate things that don't need to be. why tie charters up in red tape and paper work when it would be better if they were charting, even CDLC that needs work is better than CDLC which doesn't exist.

    my 2 cents

  2. always play songs on 100% difficulty, just slow them down when I have challenging parts. some songs I have even slowed down to 10% speed and worked up from there.

( I used to play up through the difficulty but as I got better I changed to playing 100% and i tend to get to learn it faster)

    my method

I play through a song on 100% difficulty to get an understanding of the song.

challenging parts I will RR the whole chorus or riff until I have a handle on it.

then start playing through the whole song on say 70% speed (adjust accordingly)

At 80% speed I start singing the words ( this helps take the focus off the guitar and helps with memory) using the subconsious mind much like driving a car, the more you do it the less you need to think about it).

from there I progress the speed up to 100.

I will not let the Master mode take over until I reach at least 95%

I do not really care about getting 100%, I would rather know that the song sounds good than knowing that I have made the program which has it's own flaws happy.

I regularly play songs that I have no interest in learning, quite often you learn the most from the songs you like the least.

  4. I had hoped for this from the start, now it's a little to little to late.

I have fully converted from console to PC for Rocksmith. largely due to customs.

not offering a cross platform sync means I shall not be going back, I would have considered it if I could link profiles between pc/console. but will not pay again for songs I have already forked out the hard earned for.

    good luck to them though.

  5. I have the ephiphone dot and would recommend it only if the size suits you. i am 6'5 so it feels just fine in my hands. the sound is pretty good.  it's light years better than my old guitar. it plays like an electric but has the comfortable feel of an acoustic. as far as copies go it is quite good, it is hard for manufacturer to cheap out on construction with this style of guitar.traditionally for blues/jazz.bluegrass styles but dave grohl uses this style of guitar and still sounds great, in alternative.

go to a store and try one out. if it suits you you will know straight away, or not.

  6. I came across the same situation a few months back, I only play on rocksmith.

and without the prompts I forgot what came next.

I used my phone to record the screen as I played on some of my favorites. then I take my phone to say the beach or a park with my acoustic guitar and play there. it has really helped me playing in a different situation, now with some songs I just use it to remember the lyrics.

It has really helped me improve my playing as well.

personally I would love it if some better guitarists would do the screen caps for a bunch of songs specifically but for now I am happy with what I have.
