  1.

Intro to Everlong is an example.  It slides up from a B to a G without being linked to anything.  There is a tiny bit of space separating the end of the slide and the next note.

Exactly, there is a space between the end of the slide and the next note. Normallg, at least during GP import, without the linknext status, the end of the slide would have another note head, THEN the tiny space, and then the next note.

  2. I don't know, that seems pretty specific and slides don't always need to be authored that way.

I can't actually think of a single official DLC that has a note head after a slide. As far as I know, they all have the linknext status (or however they call it) appended.

  3. I don't know what other people think about this, but I would like a EoF to automatically append the "Linknext" status to slide notes. Maybe a user preference?

Edit: And maybe for chord slides, automatically append bothe the Linknext and the sustain status?

I'd like to know what other people think of this idea

  4. If you were expecting EOF to automatically resize beats during GP import, it was never designed or intended to do that so it doesn't, you still have to manipulate beat lengths yourself.

I guess I was expecting it to do that. Oh well, thanks for clearing that up.

  5. In my opinion, letting the user choose is always better than forcing it one way or another.

Anyway, got a question. I noticed that importing guitar pro files with a 7/8 time signature is still not great, aka it still handles it like 3/4 or 4/4 signature. Is there anything you can do to fix that? Right now I'm multiplying the BPM for any 7/8 part by 1.75 and this works well enough, but not always.

  6. I had to adjust my beat markers today -- but doing this threw off the fret hand positions, that is, they're no longer lined up with the beats. Is there a way to resnap these? (Well, it's too late now, I'll have to go back and redo them by hand. EOF gets close, but not close enough).

Just delete all the fret hand positions and have eof generate them automatically when you save the project? That's what I do anyway.

  7. Raynebc, I encountered another bug (or intended behaviour, I don't know, but it just doesn't look right): EoF doesn't write (or at least not always) a handshape tag on new chords if that chord starts out as a string muted chord.

In the game it shows up like this:

It's the string muted repeat after the 3x C5 power chords. In EoF it looks like this:

So my question: Is this intended or is it a bug? If it's intended, can/will you change it?

  8. Raynebc, one request. I know that EoF has a rule that it exports low-density chords if the chord was placed within 10 seconds of another chord (same chord). This messes with the highlight, making people think they should hold their chord for longer than they actually have/need to. Is it possible to either 1) have that limit lowered to maybe 1 second or 2) make that limit user-adjustable, so we (well, I) can test what a good value might be for that rule?
