EOF is not allowing me to place or move half notes. I'm only allowed to place 16th notes, I'm not sure why it's doing this. Can someone please help me?

In Rocksmith 2014 Remastered has microphone mode which I use. I use this USB Guitar cable that I bought off of amazon http://a.co/2jxaeB5 I tried to use both my Guitar and Bass in Tone Designer and I could not hear myself. The game does recognize my playing in "Learn A Song" mode. So, the question is does Microphone mode work with Tone Designer?
