Indeed every song on the album is played only with bass and drums. The bass is played using a huge amount of effects and channeled through a variety of bass and guitar amps (I believe in the studio, the setup was 5 separate amps hooked up in the room). The main pedals used are distortion and octave effects. He kicks these in and out rapidly all through songs. So, this would be something of a challenge to accurately make a Rocksmith chart with correct sounds! A plain old bass chart, not worrying about effects, is relatively simple, though.
