  1. @@jbroch Thanks, man. That bass line is a little trickier than one would think. Geezer threw some neat slides and chords in there. Glad to hear a little music can help your situation a bit.
  2. @@A51Ripcord If it only takes $10 to make you happy for hours, I call that worth every penny.
  3. @@avdocatwork Sorry. You're right, I had it listed as private. Should work now.
  4. @@avdocatwork I was told I had a serious case of cooties in third grade that I've never fully recovered from. I used the 2009 remastered versions for the Sabbath songs. I've got all there albums remastered if you need a song. I'm finishing up the bass on Iron Man, then it will be done. I also tweaked the tone a bit and made a few minor corrections. Hope to have it done by tonight. I'd like to find one more tune from the Paranoia album and make it a 3-pack. Trying my best to use Bandicam, but my old computer lags like crazy if I try to do a full 1080p. I think I had to knock it down to 480, but still watchable, just don't go full screen or it looks like shit. I've got my eye on some Dell refurbs on Dell's outlet page; a nice i7 with a 4Gb video card can be had for about $700. I'm in love with the sound this Seymour Duncan pickup makes when you add the wah pedal to it. Sounds like the Budweiser frogs were possessed and then electrocuted. Here's me playing Electric Funeral poorly on Bandicam: https://youtu.be/7eDTPH5ATiE
  5. A friend I haven't seen in a while asked me to make some video/audio of me playing a song. I told him I could get just about any song off of CF or I could make it myself. This asshole chooses Survivor's I Can't Hold Back. He loves cheesy 80's music and I always used to rip him for his love of Survivor. No song on CF, found a partial tab. Don't want to wuss out. But don't want to listen to Survivor either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaMcsKtBDwE
  6. Just finished this up. Interested to know what you guys think on lead tone and volume. There's two guitars playing the lead part, one in the right channel with a lot of wah, and one in the left with a little less. I tried to come up with a tone that was in between, but it's probably leaning a little more toward lots of wah wah. Used a combo of tabs for the bass. I figured the bass line would just match up with the lead, but it's actually a bit higher. Sounds good to me. Let me know what you think if you get a chance. Black Sabbath - Electric Funeral v0.1 for Lead and Bass.
  7. @@avdocatwork Terry, Sorry, man. I played N.I.B. a few days ago and forgot to post. Fun as hell to play and I like the tone and volumes. I need a little more practice to get those little one bar riffs down in between the power chords. A few notes cut off at the end, but I believe you are already aware of that. Polishing up the lead for Electric Funeral. I'm having fun coming up with the main wah tone in this song. The wah can give a distorted tone a real menacing, digital sound.
  8. I was hopefully being sarcastic about your visit. If you've got a car, you can do a nice cruise up and down Sheridan Rd. (what Lake Shore Drive turns into) and see how the more fortunate live on the Gold Coast. The Baha'i Temple on Sheridan is a pretty cool sight. https://www.bahai.us/bahai-temple Enjoy your visit.
  9. @@jbroch You're gonna need a roadie pretty soon. Nice to see you're going to be on the 'rich' side of town, much less chance of getting shot up there. You'll be right by Kenilworth, the richest per capita 1/4 square mile in the U.S. (it used to be, not still sure if it is). Still should be some decent pizza up there, but the best stuff is down here with the scum like me. I'm sure it will only be in the low 90's with 80% humidity when you get here. Enjoy.
  10. @@avdocatwork I started Electric Funeral over from scratch. It didn't need to be done over, I'm just an asshole. Just a few tweaks and note changes and it's going to be so much better to play. Should be done charting the lead path tonight. Hope to have lead part up by tomorrow.
  11. @@jhespada Here's the splitter I've been using on Amazon. Hosa splitter on Amazon I've had good luck with the Hosa brand and they're cheap. This one's less than $5, but it's an 'add-on' item, so they won't ship it unless you buy $25 worth of stuff. Here's the same one on Sweetwater: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/YPP111 $5 plus free shipping. Sweetwater is super reliable with fast shipping. I want to visit their huge ass store in Fort Wayne, IN one day. It's like the Taj Mahal of music. Don't know why, but Guitar Center doesn't carry one. Just make sure you get a mono splitter instead of a stereo that will split to left and right channels. The ones I linked to are mono. You can tell a mono plug becuase it only has one black 'stripe/ring' around the metal part of the plug, stereo will have two. Once you get your splitter, plug the male end directly into your guitar. Then run your RS cable into one of the female ends on your splitter. Then use a separate cable to run from the the amp to the other female port on your splitter. Now you're guitar will feed directly into your amp and RS at the same time. Turn off your guitar volume in RS. Now you will only hear your guitar through your amp, but it will register the notes you're playing in RS as normal. So you'll be hearing RS through your normal speaker set up, but all your guitar will be through the amp. It's definitely worth it once you hear it. Hope this makes sense. Any questions or clarifications, just shoot 'em over.
  12. @@avdocatwork Make sure you shut off guitar volume in RS when using amp with splitter. Then blast the amp and feel like a rock god.
  13. @@avdocatwork Terry, I started working on Sabbath's Electric Funeral. I'm going to try and keep it simple by modifying the version that's already posted. It needs some speed, tuning, and tone help. Knowing me, I'll probably end up redoing it from scratch. If I don't redo it, I'll keep it just for us and won't post it in the database.
  14. @@A51Ripcord Nice amp. I really enjoy playing through the amp as well. There's no room to hide with your playing. So much of my playing got covered up by Rocksmith that I couldn't hear where I was making subtle playing errors. You're also in control of your tone and volume which is nice. Gave my little Vox amp to my nephew so I've got to get off my ass and get me a Marshall.
  15. @@avdocatwork Played Melissa. I agree a little more distortion on the tone would help give a little 'howl' on those long bends and sustains. Played Brass in Pocket, too, even though I don't think you changed anything on this one. Just played for old times sake.
  16. @@avdocatwork Going to give Brass in Pocket and Melissa a play tonight. The ability to tune it up or down in Audacity is great. I can't tell any difference when playing the song itself, but I couldn't tell it was out of tune either. Looking forward to some more Sabbath.
  17. Someone is selling a wah pedal built into a Converse All-Star: http://www.guitarplayer.com/effects/1018/new-converse-all-wah-sneaker-has-a-built-in-wah-pedal/58573
  18. Here's an updated version of Iron Man. @@GetTheLedOut was absolutely right and I was (and still am) an idiot. The tuning is down 12.5 cents, so I used Audacity to bump it up to A440. I tried a half dozen tunings and this one seems to sound the best, yet none sound 'perfect'. Jacked the tone volume up a bit. Still working on the bass track. Black Sabbath - Iron Man v0.2 - Lead Only
  19. Agree. Who wants to jam to a cover version? I wanted to do a multi-track for Iron Man but it was someone doing an Ozzy impersonation. This guy probably never even bit the head off of a flying rodent. Fraud.
  20. @@GetTheLedOut Thanks. Iron Man sounds like a match at A440, but I'm going to fool around with the tuning in Audacity to see if I can get a better sound. It does seem like a song that would be down-tuned, though. I usually can hear if the song is off key when hitting the chords, but my ear has failed me before. Thanks, again.
  21. @@GetTheLedOut What are you using to change the tuning of the audio file? That would be awesome to use on songs that, like you said, are just a bit sharp or flat.
  22. @@Tank-OR Kenosha, eh? I'm in Oak Lawn, just southwest of Chicago. There's a great fest every year up in Milwaukee where they get A-list bands to perform, think it's called Summerfest. Never been to it but have friends who go every year. You'll have to load up on gold and green football gear to blend in. And lots of cheese, of course.
