  1. I think it just comes down to human nature.  Some people want to put out as much cdlc as possible, as if there is some sort of glory to that, so they spend very little time perfecting it.  Others want quality.  I've got to a point where I only play my songs or the songs of creators that do good work, and a lot of my shit still needs to be revised.  I think since there is no incentive to do good, many people will do the minimum.  I agree with @@Byproduct, it sucks when you load up a song you've been looking forward to and it's unplayable.  Often tones are bad, volumes are way too high on tones, and there are obvious wrong notes, all signs that someone didn't take the time to test it.  You can't stop humans from being humans.

  2. Hmm... I assumed this was common knowledge:

When you use the "import package" function of the Toolkit to unpack a psarc file, and load up the generated xml files of the arrangements in EOF, the difficulty levels would in most cases be completely messed up: The highest difficulty would not contain all the notes, but instead the notes would be "spread" over the various difficulties - overall random notes would be missing. All in all you just couldn't unpack a psarc, edit it in EOF and generate a new psarc without risking the loss of information.

I also assumed that this was exactly the problem we talked about in the Resynchronizer thread and that you fixed it in order to improve the Resynchronizer.

I have no idea if the problem is the Toolkit, the DDC or the EOF...

Anyway I just tested it with one of my customs with DDC 2.5 and 2.6 and the results in EOF are messed up in the same way.

Do you need more information to maybe work on that problem?

After you unpack psarc, remove DD for .xml file and you will have all notes on one difficulty instead of spread out with what looks like "missing notes".   I think the higher the difficulty you go, you only see the notes that are added in that difficulty, i.e. if a phrase is fully leveled up at level 3, nothing will show up when you go to level 4.

  3. Actually, disregard previous post, think it should look like this:

Fret hands get goofy, too.  You have to place them what one would think is a note after where they normally should be.  Didn't test this, but followed a model I used that worked for me.

  4. Try this:

    In normal view:

    In advanced mode:

Use linknext on first two notes, then in advanced mode, put the slides directly on top of the notes.  Hope this works.

  5. Rocksmith uses the clear half-tall bar to denote repeated chords, but is it possible to make a repeated chord show up as if it's the first chord in a chain?  I know if you put a phrase marker there it will show up, but there are times when I would like the chord to show, especially if the chord only repeats once in the sequence.  My apologies if this has been answered, couldn't find anything in my search.

  6. I'd say you should go with the ones that every guy that picks up a guitar wishes to play, you know, stuff like Enter sandman, Stairway to Heaven, Sweet Child o' Mine, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Comfortably Numb, Californication, Hotel California, Iron Man, I could really go on and on, but you get the idea. These are all songs that have DD, everybody wants to learn to play, have great tones and will surely attract some attention since they have not been (And in cases like GNR will most likely never be) released by Ubisoft.

Agreed.  Try to hit the broadest market possible.   Or have the guitar classics everybody wants to learn sprinkled with a few lesser known bands that would really give someone a woody like Blind Guardian, Modest Mouse, Buckethead, Clutch, etc.  Also, if I had never played guitar, and even if I had, some of the faster metal might scare the shit out of me and I would think I could never do that.  Just a thought.

  7. You need to cut and paste that solo onto your lead track in EoF.  Import the solo onto another track you're not using, like real_guitar22, real_bass22.  Select and copy the solo, then go to where you want to put it in the lead track, delete the notes in the lead where the solo goes, paste your new solo in, and line the new notes up to the beats.  If all your tracks are full in EoF, open up a second EoF, load your .notes file for your song and import other tracks you need.  You can also cut and paste between open applications of EoF.  Just make sure you "save as" and name your second copy of your .notes something else or it will overwrite your originals.

Also, you can't import the solo track on top of the lead track as it will just delete the lead and load the solo.
