  1. Here we are again!  A year later, and quite a few more Xmas songs...  so, good job everyone !!!

LaceyB just dumped an entire GP6 Xmas song pack for us to download!!!  Thank you LaceyB for that, you rock!

Have we got a way yet to just isolate all holiday/xmas songs yet?

  2. Just to put this right:

The admins here won't allow someone to up cdlc unless they are the author or have the permission of the creator.

If you are a "Magna Charter" (everyone can become one, once you publish your first custom), you can in fact share old CLDCs from SA.

    From the "Rules":

"As of July we have a Adoption System for Magna Charters. The rules for the Adoption System are listed here

When converting RS 1 customs to RS2014 please give credit to the original author. It is not allowed for a normal member to upload a custom he did not create."

The Adoption System Rules state that you have to make sure the custom works and that you take responsibility to fix errors. You also have to put a special message in the release notes, stating that the custom is adopted, naming the original author (if possible) and promising that you take responsibility for the CDLC.

Thanks for the follow-up Azrael.  That is good information to have.  I would have hoped that there would be a way to recover older songs, such as from RS1 or the defunct smithyanvil

I believe I can however, share my personal dropbox link with you to this work for your own enjoyment.

Thanks so much... its like getting a Christmas present!

Its members like you that make this CustomsForge community one of my favorites!

  4. there was a song available a couple of years ago on smithyanvil called A Mad Russian's Christmas from Trans-Siberian Orchestra for the PC.

It didn't seem to come over to CustomsForge.

If someone has a PC copy from smithyanvil could you please upload to CustomsForge so we can all enjoy again?

Or, if that is a problem, message me privately and I will send you an email address to send the .psarc file to.

  5. I tend to check in with CDLC's on a regular basis, use the updated search function, this shows the most recent updates and new threads, if you see a song you already have then there is a good chance it has been updated. just scroll down until you reach the end of the listings in bold this marks the end of where you were on your last search.

it is a bit of a work around but it does work as long as you check in regularly.

Exactly what I have been doing...  just find it a bit tedious and hard to reconcile at times when multiple items exist for same title, and I have already weeded out "my personal' good from the bad!!!  but thanks, i appreciate the feedback!  Am getting close to 386 CDLCs and grows more everyday.

  6. @michael_41: Thanks mate, I hope you like it!

And, just so you know, when you hover over someone else's post, there's that thing, 'Multi-quote' that comes up ;)

Aw, thanks Unforgiven... but I wanted to send EACH of you a personal thank you for participating! that way LOTS of following emails were sent!

  7. I was thinking of doing one or two.  I copied that Now Thats What I Call Christmas triple cd as a favour for someone, so I have it in my iTunes now.

From that 3 cd set, I could only find 2 sets of tabs that are anywhere near decent enough for a custom - namely War is Over and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.

The John Lennon song is rhythm only, so I'll "do an Aludog" :D

The Wizzard tabs are not the best (the best of what I could find for any Christmas song) but are do-able.

If anyone can find some decent tabs for any Christmas song I will take a look.  I will most likely do the John Lennon song in the next few days.

PC Plum, I really like the songs you track!  It would great if you could provide either of those 2, or any for that matter.  I, unfortunately do not know of any decent tabs for any Xmas songs.  Maybe someone else out there in our community could suggest some.

  9. I was lucky and did get that UbiSoft 3 song Xmas pack for Xbox 360 back when it came out.  Its now no longer available at all.

So far I have from CustomsForge -

Bobby Helms - Jingle Bell Rock

August Burns Red - Carol Of The Bells

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Wizards in Winter
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve/Sarajevo "Carol of the Bells"
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Canon Rock
    The Darkness - Christmas Time
  10. This month and last, every time I hear a XMAS song I would like to learn to play I run to Customs Forge and do a search, usually to no avail.

So far, the only XMAS songs I can seem to find are from Trans-Siberian Orchestra and I found Jingle Bell Rock (which won't appear in my Song List, plenty of comments about that in it's CDLC comments section!).

Does anyone have a list of Xmas related songs that can be found here at CustomsForge?

  11. So I have found that Jingle Bell Rock won't show up in Rocksmith 2014 song list.  One of it's comments indicates that it has to be repacked.  I have not yet downloaded the unpacker/packer software and have never used it.

Is there a way to report problems with a CDLC except for just posting comments in the CDLC's comments area (which I did yesterday)?

  12. The other thread is for a desktop application that appears to still be in development.  All its functionality is still an unknown at this point?

Back to this thread though, how are people managing keeping the current downloads they are playing in RS up to date today?  Do you just sit there with your list of thousands of songs in your desktop folder and look them all up one by one to check to see if there are new versions every once in a while or what?  Is someone doing something better than this today?

  13. Does anyone have an easy way to keep your current downloaded CDLC up to date?

I have some bad and ok versions of some songs, but short of checking in the search everyday, remembering what songs/versions I have, and seeing if someone has a new update is, well....  does someone have some tips or tricks, apps, or ideas on how to make this easier?
