Fun song! Plenty of room for improvement too.

Marginal gain. My scores on this song were really inconsistent. Today i was getting much lower scores and also my thumb aches. I've been trying a few different techniques to try and get my power chords to sound cleaner like finger muting e sting ect with what seems like no improvement. Not sure what gives, i'll keep working on it!

Apart from my awful palm muting i'm pretty pleased with my progress on this one. Got through the score attack on hard and now looking forward to next week. :)- 5

I'm a beginner too so join the Championship!! we get to learn a new beginner song each week, also there is a spreadsheet with list of all past songs for beginners.
Currently i'm not just trying to learn beginner songs but also spending ALOT of my time on the technique games and trying some of the more difficult stuff. It's frustrating, being bad and i often want to quit and go watch TV or do summit else but i'm currently trying to buck my previous trend. Persevere and conquer.
If you need extra motivation and want to attack learning the guitar take a listen to this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIrT1eHs1b0. He changed my outlook on my life.- 1

I really hoped to get through this on score attack and on a number of occasions thought i was going too. Always bottled it on those last few bends :( . Oh well always next time. Looking forward to next weeks challenge now!- 5

I couldn't beat the score i put up in my earlier post 86% but i'm happy that i can now play rough landing, holly on score attack hard without strikes. Something i didn't expect when i first tried the song. Looking forward to next week!

@@NoonyDeloony Thanks for the support!
@@Rodman Thanks for the welcome. I had meant to post my initial score to see how i have progressed but keep forgeting to screenshot . I started on about 63%.
My best so far:
I've not riff repeated any of the solo yet and hack my way through it at the mo and i'm way off. I have also been struggling with the c#m7 chord, can't get the shape down consistently so its a bit of pot luck. Other than that i'm missing the odd note and occasional first chord on changes.- 8

Really hard to put it down to one band.. My parents brought me up on Queen, Pink Floyd and Dire Straights and i always loved guitar solos. When i got a little bit older i was listening to a lot of Nirvana, Green Day, Metallica and a bunch of Nu-Metal, still loving the guitar sound and solo's.
I would say I've had three real eureka moments or songs that have really motivated to learn to play. These being:
RHCP - Under the bridge, not even sure why think its partly the video and the intro.
Metallica - One, love the song and kirk's solos.
I lost my dad last year to cancer and after going through some of his stuff realised how much his music meant to him especially Pink Floyd and Dire Straits which made me want to pick up my guitar that has been gathering dust for months....and here i am. :) -
I really want to start getting involved in the championship but even the beginner songs this week and last still seem way beyond my capabilities! I will post my scores below at the end of the week (please don't laugh!), any tips you guys have got will be much appreciated!

Hi,
I am a beginner guitarist and this is my first time post (been lurking for a while, lol). I often get frustrated playing songs that are far too hard for me. I know the game has the dynamic difficulties but to be honest i'm not a fan as i find when it raises in diffficulty my hand and finger positions are all wrong so i usually just put on 100 difficulty and riff repeat at slow speeds.
Recently i have decided to give my learning some structure and done abit of research on some songs that are great for beginner players so once i have mastered them and their associated chords i can progress to harder songs with more chords ect.
One thing i noticed is some of the really easy songs are only available in rhythm and i selected lead as my path so playing it is unavailable unless i switch.
Would there be a simple way of creating a copy of the rhythm to lead track since there is not one already, and how hard would this be to do and how?
Thanks,
RoR

I'm not doing too bad with the main riff now, almost getting through on score attack too but switching between the riff and the chords at the end of the song is costing me. Hoping to score high this week! :)
