  1. I have a MG10 but it's too limited to be really usefull on the long run but the MG15 you show have many more option so it seems like a good choice. The line6 spider are some really good amps that i can only tell you to go for it if you found one cheap enough for your budget. Know that a low power will limit you quickly, the one that can do more can do less, i have a Mustang III and it's a beast (100W) so if you don't want to move it around, i clearly think you should go for more power but if you need to transport it everywhere better stick to some low power that will be lighter.

  2. A 2 year space is most likely, looking at the new AC5, The Division, FC4 that has still to be properly shown and the frequency of DLC (3/5 songs/week). It's more likely that they announce the new RS next year (keeping a 2 year dev for a game by one studio is pretty standard).

    But i don't know the futur :D

  3. @@Daikano : Can't play the tapping part (seems absolutely impossible on a guitar) so even if the tone is partially wrong, i can't find anything at the moment and for the distortion tone it seems already quite good for me maybe adding some bass and medium but i'm not sure it will do a big difference in the end.

@@MrCscn : you can find your clean tone here under the name "clansmanclean".

  4. I'll add some information just in case :

Official DLC are around 3 to 5 Mb.

WAV ripped directly from a CD and converted in MP3 gives me a bitrate around 180 to 200kb/s to get the same quality of information in the end.

A convertion to 192kbp/s ogg seems the best compromise here and it would be a quality settings of 6 in wwise (96k/channel).

With this you got a CD quality sounds which is considered to be superior to what the human can actually ear.

For more detail about human perception versus quality

  5. the waveform moved with the leading silence but you should move the beat map to set on the waveform and not the other way since the beat map will move when you add a leading silence if you check this option. To erase a beat marker, you can go directly to Beat->All event and delete those you don't want or need from there or select the associated beat and go to Beat->Event to delete it.

  6. The fret hand position is placed where the green bar indicator is.

If a note is outside of the standard 4 fret length, RS will adjust the length so that the fret hand position get all the fret.

Know that an automatic fret hand position definition exist and works pretty good.

For section and phrases, it is placed on the selected beat (-->) and not on the selected note.

Section are the selectable part of a song in RS riff repeater and phrases are repeated part of a song for dynamic difficulty.

And i think there is a copy paste fonction for section and phrases.

  7. Part of what i was trying to say is that a higher OGG bitrate than 256 is useless since you won't hear the difference. If EOF can import directly from the CD (which is most of the time a WAV at 260-280Kb/s) using the 256kb/s already available in EOF is enough.

We also have to keep in mind that the higher bitrate the bigger file you'll get in the end for a variation almost inaudible so using a higher bitrate than 256 is useless in many case.

Don't know exactly what are the difference between each quality settings in wwise but getting too high is the same problem as ogg conversion in EOF, too high will make no audible difference and a bigger file. Listening to a file is not a test, you need to compare the information (looking at the waveform could be one but spotting a difference is hard) and minimize the impact of other components (the worst one being your ears!). not sure taking too much time investigating this worth the information you'll get in the end.

  8. Sure you can't upscale but if you hear a difference between a CD and the rip MP3 of the CD, you can't hear any difference, it's the exact same file and burning the cd back from the ripped MP3 will still be the exact same file. if you hear a difference, it's not coming from the file but other components in the middle.

  9. MP3 is not a lossy format but OGG is. A MP3 above ~200Kb/s is good enough so using OGG (which is a lossless format) at 256Kb/s is good enough and allow you to limit the disk space used. Don't know about wwise quality level parameters but using 7 is fine enough (can't ear any difference) but definitely not uses 4.

For those who hear a difference between CD (equivalent to a MP3 at approx. 280kb/s depending on the length of the songs) and 320kb/s MP3, take some time to do a real test and you will found out that the difference is not coming from the original file you're listening to but other components.

  10. So from what I understand, you play on mac and so you do the conversion yourself? It might explain why I don't encounter this problem on PC...

If you add only one In Flames CDLC, do you still have the problem?

I'll try to convert some myself and send it to you later today with the modified tone name to see if that's the problem.

  11. Knockin' on Heavens Door starting with the Rhythm part to know the chords is fairly easy and well known.

Californication is not that hard and pretty interesting to play too and you need an electric only during the solo.

Zombies from the Cramberries is really easy too and play really well on an acoustic.

You can also take a look at all the Oasis songs.

  12. All my custom uses the same tone name (especially true for bass) and i never encounter any problem with this.

Can you explain how and when the tone bug appear and why do you think this is related to the tone name?
