  1. i purchased the lifetime sub like 2 years back, i dont see any option to download official tabs however from what i see official tabs are just pro tabs. The official tabs come with its own Ui in which you can select which instrument youre playing on (so long as its available on the song by the creator) and includes backing tracks for official tabs. Official tabs also have the option to switch between tablature and chords for songs which is a bonus. Theres also Tonebridge which is free, i use it on my mac with my rocksmith cable and it works well, however the quality of the tones vary as it does seem to be community based.

All in all its pretty good but i barely ever use mine as my option is rocksmith for convenience.

Take the blue pill or the red, choice is yours

  2. i know and the "official" DLC is also incorrect as to how duff mckagan actually plays it.  i have it on the 360 version of RS but i have also watched the youtube vid of duff mckagan himself showing how he plays it.  im trying to get it as duff plays it not as the RS/UBI folks "thinks" it is played.  it is actually quite common in not only rs and other games of this type to be wrong, in fact a LOT of music books with tab transposed by individuals is wrong.  to prove my point i just point you to michael jacksond billie jean.  there are 2 ways it is played and then there is the correct way ( see bass wizard billie jean on youtube).

personally i would like to see some cdlc of the "official" stuff reworked to be just like the artsit plays it, and dont get me started on songs with incorrect tones or omitted bass part LOL.

guess i should have clarified what i was interested in and that is cdlc made as artist actually plays it and "official" DLC reworked to be as the artist plays it ( which would then make it CDLC and not "official" from a legal standpoint )with as close to accurate tones as possible ( playing hero with heavy distortion/overdrive or envelope filter effect just makes it diffucult to play from a tonal standpoint it sounds like crap LOL)

i just have not been having any luck making cdlc that works so i cant seem to make it myself or else i would .

You shouldnt complain about dlc or official dlc if you cant even make it yourself, it can be incredibly time consuming depending on the the materials used, in fact it comes across quite pretentious how you think of the work people do, creators of official dlc work really hard to provide it and just because they may not play it a certain way as the person who wrote it did, doesn't make it wrong, theres more than one way to play a song, everyone has their own interpretation of how they hear something,  maybe be appreciative its there considering you dont have the skills to do it yourself.

  3. Dave Grohl and Alex Turner (Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys) Dave's unbelievable use of turning chords into broken down notes and technical mastery of music regardless of teaching himself ,along with Alex Turner's ability giving unique and diverse sounds with his unrivaled mastery of lyrics is amazing.

Theyre the reason i picked up a guitar 2 years ago.

They may not fall into 'guitarist' category since both of them are talented with many different things

  4. @@firekorn considering remastered only came out like half a year ago, i dont see any major changes or even a new game coming out soon, aside from the rumours about that survey they released i dont think theyre gonna be making any big changes soon, maybe 2018/19.

Not sure if it be that difficult to implement a 'singstar' type addition to it(mentioned in the survey), i mean theres already ultrastar for pc, but that might insight a mic conflict.

    maybe violinsmith or trumpetsmith next

  5. Is it just me ,or is when a song is playing,,,is the crowd facing away from the stage??

no big deal but kinda bugs me..

bothers me as well, while rs2014 was the first RS i played it bothered me from the start, like im the guitarist, what am i doing back here, i later found out that the original RS did have you on the stage, infront of the audience, apparently the developers say it was distracting to the player and that RS2014 is aimed more towards an educational piece of software rather than a game.

Personally i think the pro is that yes it does then branch off from the genre of video game to educational software, while the con might be it might lose an audience(no pun intended) with a more visually appealing style you can get more people to use it, more kids would be interested in picking up the guitar cause what theyre using to learn adds that kick of excitement seeing people jump infront of you while you play.

That being said i assume theyre just trying to move away from the guitar hero genre and identify as something thats not a toy

  6. the notes and chords of cdlc vs dlc will be very much different, however they will sound generally the same since they're pretty much done by ear, so for example if lets say the dlc says from 3 slide to 5, while the cdlc says from 3 hammer on 5, now both give the same notes to play but are played differently while a cdlc charter may hear it in that way, the official person trained for years would year the other way, now thats my best case scenario, worst case is the 2 different people hear different things.

I myself admit to not knowing how to hell to read music sheets, don't ask me whats a half beat or transposing, that being said if you listen to the lana del rey songs i did, those were done 90 percent by ear, and i feel its pretty accurate.

It pretty much how people.............understand what they hear. As much as a cdlc could be bad or off here and there, i wouldnt complain about it cause a person has taken time out of their day to make it, and it is time consuming, so its best to appreciate what we get, better than nothing.

  7. Hi Guys,

If you're reading this, you're probably a fan of Linkin Park and Chester and depending on how much you utterly loved him you, like myself may have shed some tears over the tragic loss of one of the most impressive talents of our generation.

Growing up Linkin Park was probably the band that turned me to rock music and shaped the foundations of my love for rock and i even specifically remember trying to fit more than 1 Linkin Park song on my stiffy disk. Chester's dynamic voice is part of my childhood, teenage life and newly adulthood and is something I'd never get tired of. I never for a second even had the thought that there would be no more Linkin Park, such a thought was ludicrous, it didnt even make any sense, why would there be no more Linkin Park?

Once the news had released i booted up my old cd's I'd purchased years ago and listening to songs like "Easier to Run" and "Leave Out All The Rest" suddenly hit harder than they had before.

Chester may not have known me, psht he didnt even know i even existed, but that one man's voice along with the talents of the rest of the band greatly affected millions as their music flooded through speakers around the world. They understood how we felt in "Numb" and they knew how we felt in "Runaway" and so many more.

I can't even imagine what Mike Shinoda must be feeling as the co-founder of Linkin Park he was probably the closest to Chester and the chemistry between the two was unmistakeable.

While theres nothing we can do now to change anything, we can do something to honour his work, so if anyone has any ideas on how we can show how much Chester meant to us let me know.

oh and thanks for taking the time to listen

  8. Hey Rockers

So I'm working on an arctic monkeys track Fright Lined Dining Room and I've got most of the setup pretty well but i am having trouble with a section in regards to amps.

You can listen to the bit here

at around 1:58 to the end its got quite a dirty amp with distortion and from 2:13 i believe thats a dirty distortion on the bass as well.

Now im having a bit of trouble getting close to that sound,is there anyone who knows what setup would be perfect of this bit?

    Much thanks

    Many appreciate

  9. So i currently have just over 100 hours in rocksmith in the year that i've owned rocksmith ( aside from playing guitar without it ) and i had a thought the other day as to improving my overall quality in the art of guitar-ing. Could it be that the guitar playing in the original song be masking the awfulness of my playing? quite possibly... yes i know you could always turn down the song volume in the mixer but then you can't really hear the song and you rely on the visuals to get your timing to the song since you cant hear a hella lot over your playing.

That got me thinking, what if instead we started using backing tracks for our cdlc, that way the vocals are there, the drums are there and probably the bass, that way you'll be playing the guitar to the song without the artists guitar masking your playing.

    What do you guys think?

    Original tracks

    VS

    Backing tracks

  10. I was using it for a while recently but just got GP6 working again since it really does save time with saving useful tunings + transposing successfully in GP just felt allot easier to me... TUX tries to reset the tuning whenever you change # of Strings for example which makes it hard when you can't even choose which string to get rid off etc and the transposing never worked for me.

for eg I had the issue ...Going from 5/6 String Bass and trying to prepare a 4 string file... for importing in EoF...

It might be easier for you to import one section at a time (from individual .GP5 files) and Set BPM for each section as you move along...

    sync from start to finish.

oh i quite like that idea, thank you

  11. Hi peoples

So i wanted to start working on a sort of compiled song mashup of multiple e stand songs which i'll edit together.

Whats the problem i hear you not asking?

Problem is, i use tuxguitar software for setting notes and stuff before EOF, and with trying to set up a compilation like this i need to be able to quickly get rid of the sections of songs i dont need and for the love of dave grohl i can't find out how to select or highlight pieces to remove.

Does anyone know how to help or recommend some free software i could use to help me out here.

Much thanks for the assist in advance

  12. Hey fellow fellows

I just want to know something from other creators here.

Lately I've been making songs i quite like only problem though is once I've made the songs i play them like twice and never again while other songs I've downloaded from other creators i have play counts over 50.

When i think about it i feel like the fact that i made the cdlc takes away a bit of the magic of playing a song.

Is it just me or do you fellow CDLC creators also lose interest in your own creations?

  13. Hi guys,

So i just have a quick question about copyright infringement. So i very much love the song Everlong by The Foo Fighters ( is 'the' in the name??? i think so ) now as amazing as the song is, i have a big soft spot for the acoustic version, now seeing as how the original is a dlc , will i be allowed to make the acoustic version of the song? or would that be copyright?

    Much thanks

    Shiv

  14. So i mentioned this a while back about the request / complete thing going on with it not being updated.

Thing is, alot of the problem is the people posting the requests. It doesnt take that much of an effort for someone to see a song has already been made by a quick search rather than requesting it to be made.

I'm not expecting any sort of fix for this, just thought i'd bring it to attention and see if anyone else feels a bit annoyed by people asking before looking.

  15. Hey Bros and girl bros

Can anyone tell me how to mark requests on the request pages as complete. I see quite often requests for cdlc that are already available or multiple requests for the same songs.

So how does one mark these as done as it should make my life and the lives of other creators easier if we know what needs to be made and what doesn't.

    Much much thanks

    From

    Me
