Unless you have a tremelo just cut all the strings off then clean her up. I would clean the fretboard since you can get to it as well. String it up and enjoy. New strings are almost as good as new guitar day to me.

I alreday cut the old strings (damm i get lof of scars, how stupid am I)but when i celand the guitar it doesn't have any signals that it's clean. Also i restringd it and the high e stirng has been broked( that's the 4th case,i think the hish e strings hate me  :( ) and it it's not enough, most of the strings if i play it,it has weird noises. So i've got a lot of pronblems.

I'm no expert but that sounds like a truss rod issue.

I don't think theres a big demand for Rancid judging by the number of downloads but as they're one of my favourite bands I'd thought I'd list all available Rancid tracks and what I'm working on.

    I'll colour them as follows:

    Green - Available

    Red - Not Available Yet

Orange - Currently Working On It

    Blue - Planned For Future

If anyone is currently working on a Rancid track let me know and I'll update the list if you want.

  4. I'd be interested to know if you think guitar didn't help you feel better in any way and that's why you stopped? One of the reasons I picked it up was because I saw it as a release but I find if I'm feeling any negative emotions it usually makes things worse because I end up annoyed at myself.

For me , I'm just getting over a major depression bout. Rocksmith and making cdlc's has been great therapy for me. Although life and work are getting in the way of my guitar now :)

  5. Hi guys,

I am looking for songs like Knights of Cydonia (LEAD) with lots of single notes and nice melodies..

Many songs have got solos that take ages to master which is not what I am looking for.

    Any suggestions?

Maybe not your cup of tea as they're punk but have a look at these

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UzGLYZfRyI

    Operation Ivy - Bankshot

These are simple 1 note at time riffs but with power chords and barre chords inbetween. Imo its the next step up from playing single notes and essentionaly only learning 2 hand shapes. Even playing them badly but with tons of distortion sounds ok to me lol.  Once you can play power chords adequately there are 1000's of songs out there. If you intend to learn power chords , make sure you learn the correct techniques now , dont learn any bad habits as its very difficult to stop those bad habits.

    Bad Religion - American Jesus

Bad Religion - Stranger Than Fiction

  6. hi, i have both an epi sg pro and and eastwood gp.

my sg is around 5 years old so doesnt have coil taps, but i think that it sounds great and is pretty well built, good for blues, crunchy or fuzzed out sounds, but I dont like playing it. I doesnt feel very well balanced compared to other guitars that I own, and the body cut out makes it sit in a way that it feels like the neck is overly long to reach the 1st 3 frets, especially if I sit down to play it. thats just my opion though, my friend loves playing it. My suggestion is to hold and play an SG before buying, if you havnt already.

My eastwood, is not the one you mentioned and retails around £600, but 2nd hand its around 300. Im only really mentioning it to comment on the build quality which I think is really good, not perfect if you examine everything, but feels and plays really well, holds tune and sounds great for fuzzed and distorted sounds. I have it tuned to C for QOTSA and Kyuss tracks and it suits them really well, but again also good for overdriven bluesy type rock like Monster Truck

Thanks for the heads up about balance , Im definately going to test drive one now

  7. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c286/Ripcord32/slide%20and%20bend%20help%2003.png

    Thanks Fuzzy666,

Still working it but this is what it looks like soo far.

The red numbers underneath the chart indicate special functions (bend , slides etc) , do you intend to have bends in the notes preceeding the slide as its saying that there are bends half a step up , i think thats what  ")0.5" means. It appears you also have bends on open strings(dont think thats possible?). If thats not your goal you can select a note ( left click ) , go to the "Note" tab at the top and scroll down to remove statuses.

  8. At that budget you've got an astonishing range of choices - best bet is to decide on the body shape and pickups configuration you want and then go from there. SG's are nice guitars to play though, certainly wouldn't try to talk you out of getting one.

Personally, I love the look of this Eastwood Sidejack http://www.thomann.de/gb/eastwood_sidejack_dlx_mb.htm

Don't forget to look into the second hand market as well !

Edit: Not sure if you're interested in an acoustic, but obviously you're a Rancid fan and Tim Armstrong's sig electro-acoustic is around your budget: http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_tim_armstrong_hellcat_acoustic.htm

I was looking at Eastwood's today actually , the sidejack looks good , not in that colour though lol

I've recently moved to the country so the 2nd hand market here is poor. Fingers crossed I might find a great barn find lol.

I'm not ready for an acoustic yet but thats a nice looking guitar.

  9. If you already want one, get it cause you'll want to use it :P

I have nothing against epiphone even if they aren't really perfect but not many guitar are especially in this price range so go with it and see what you really like dislike into it as a piece information for a future purchase.

Good idea , it'll only take another year to save up for one

  10. largely depends on the style you want to play.

Epiphones are good for a jazzy, bluesy style, and can be neat for a hard rock crunch.

Seems like you wamt that sg body though

Yeah I have a sort of fixation with the body of the SG lol! I like to play a lot of punk rock so im not sure it'll be the best choice but I'm still deciding.

  11.

you can't slide from and to 0. i would remove the slides on 0 and change the slide from 0 to 1 on the 2. Hope that makes sense.  :D

Or put a 1 close as you can to the 0. Then make the slide go from 2 > 1 , then hammer off to 0. Hope that makes sense as well

No..But I want it too, Gonna work on that.

I'll try make it a little clearer and hopefully not confuse you more

    1. Firstly I would put a note as close to the 0 as possible. Depending on your settings it might not fit inbetween the two notes ( 2 & 0 ) due to the tail length. If this is the case change the tail length in your preferences F11 or you can temp delete the 2 ( right click the note ) then put in a 1 ( right click in the space ).

    http://www.mediafire.com/view/8xsuusk1qmskqih/1

Change that note to a 1 ( left click the note , hold down ctrl and use the mouse wheel to raise or lower the note ). Drag the note as close to the 0 as possible ( left click the note and hold , then drag it to the left ) . If you have grid snap on , turn it off ( press G ) or hold ctrl when you drag the note so it doesnt grid snap ( you have to drag the note at least 1 grid line to the left or right before it will move in small increments ) .

    http://www.mediafire.com/view/sbt5hww79a7jcr2/2

You can then put the 2 back in ( right click where it was originally , ctrl and mouse wheel to change note  ). Then make it a slide by selecting the note and pressing ctrl & downwards arrow ( choose 1 when it asks which fret to slide to ).

    http://www.mediafire.com/view/yov157xcchh7bx8/3

You can then make the 1 pull off to 0 by selecting the 0 note and pressing P ( pull off ) .

  12. Way too many to list or remember but the First was David Lee Roth and the last was a local punk band I joined for a while but never had the balls or talent to gig with so I just made them a video instead , they are called The Phucks and this is a shameless plug of the video.

  13. But it is just that i want to show my appreciation in a way like i do with the donation for Customsforge. There has to be a way.

Because i had so much more fun with those CDLC you Charters created then those official DLC's from Steam.

It doesn't have to be Money, it could be some way around with E-Giftcards or something you know.

You know i feel somehow bad for having all those free CDLC's without paying anything. I'm not saying fun has to be expensive or that you have to pay for fun. It's just that i want to pay for that fun because it's worth it.

For me , the only appreciation I need is a "thank you" comment , I do it for the love of music and hopefully one day you will hear great new bands with the guitarists stating that they learnt from Rocksmith - I can dream
