  1. All of my customs are in a single folder on my Google Drive. If I ever lost my original files on my hard drive and Customsforge went under, I'd still have what I have in Google Drive. But zipping all of the customs on here and putting them on Google Drive would be quite the feat. I have 125 customs in my Google Drive folder, and those alone add up to around 5GB. Add in the other hundreds already on CF and the ones being added everyday, I just don't see how what you're suggesting is possible.

So like someone else said, backup what you can.

  2. Hello! I tried to import a GP5 tab (that I converted in GP6 from .gpx) into EOF 1.8RC12. It asks me if I want to drop either the thinnest or thickest string because the bass path in the file is for 5 strings. When I press the button to drop the thickest string EOF freezes and I have to kill it in Task Manager. I've tried this about 5 times already with the same result. Luckily I still have an old version of EOF (1.8RC10) and it imported the file without problems.

  3. I updated to the latest build of the tool kit yesterday. The 2.7.0.1 validation version. I made 2 customs. One yesterday and one earlier today and used the toolkit with both files. It worked fine until tonight. It freezes when I start it up and click on it.

If you guys need any sort of information more than that I'll be more than happy to provide it. In the meantime I've downloaded 2.7.0.0

  4. From the perspective of a charter I don't use Dynamic Difficulty because of what it does to the tabs.

99% of my customs are done by ear by myself. That means 1-3 days of tediously hard work of tabbing notes in place. Dynamic Difficulty from what I've seen will take those notes and spread them out across how ever many levels of difficulty the charter chooses to have and messes up the tabs in the final product.

For me that's asinine and a no bueno. In case of hard drive failure where I can't recover my files or something like that I have the final files saved in my Google Drive with the tabs exactly the way I wrote/left them, in case I needed to make changes to it.

That's why my customs do not and will not ever as long as I make them have dynamic difficulty. Plus I don't see the point seeing as you can slow down a section of a song and learn it the old fashioned way.

  5. I've noticed that if I use Ctrl+X to mute a note it just makes an X where the fret number was. However if I edit the note and just clicked the mute checkbox then the number remains.

So my question is, if I use the Ctrl+X does that keep the fret number note or does it make it a generic open note mute?

  6. Hello avsrick. I have no experience with Bandicam, but might I suggest OBS?

It's open source and is very easy to setup and get going. Not only can it be used for streaming, but also recording.

If you can't get Bandicam to work then give OBS a try.

  7. Ever since updating to the latest revision build of the Toolit (about a few minutes ago as of writing this) the album art for two customs that I've made are too big in-game. Using smaller sizes help but not much. It's very out of place, and the effect doubles when I have two songs from the same album.

I've used jpegs as low as 75x75 and it still looks like this:

Everything worked fine until I updated it.

  8. You should have an audio folder at the top (if you sort by name) in the folder from the unpacked psarc file

Inside that there is a folder called windows and inside that you should see the .wem and .ogg audio files. Open the audio files in something like VLC to see which one is the preview and which is the full song.

Start a new project in EOF and use that the full song .ogg file.

Then in EOF you choose to import the RS XML file and browse to [unpacked folder name] > songs > arr

and there you should see the individual charts for the instruments.

Make whatever edits you want and then save it, then you just repack it in the Toolkit

  9. I can add this song to my to-do list, however it'll be a bass only chart.

Also I'm not sure which tuning the song is in, but if it's like other songs it might be D standard, if anyone else can verify.

At the moment accurately charting Green Grass and High Tides is soaking up a lot of my time, so I won't be able to get to this song for a little while.

  10. Figured I'd start a list of charts I've completed, started, and plan to do. I make bass customs only.

  11. I apologize for the lack of details. I'll show you guys what I mean.

This is where the profile is. I only have one profile in the game and this is the only tone I've saved.

    http://i.imgur.com/TuJa21O.png

I open the Toolkit and press the import button under Tones. I browse to the folder above. it only shows up when I change the filter to Xbox 360.

    http://i.imgur.com/NylcBgU.png

But when I click open this is the error the Toolkit gives me.

I'm using the latest release build of the Toolkit, so does that mean I'm doing something wrong or need the test build?

  12. http://customsforge.com/topic/26090-which-folder-contains-tones/

That's for tone saved in the tone designer inside the game.

You can always import tone from a psarc file too i think.

So I wanted to use the WarPigs tone. I couldn't find the psarc file in my DLC folder (even though ingame it says its DLC) and when I saved it as a custom tone with the tone designer (and went to the folder you said in the thread above) the Toolkit throws an error when I try to import it.

It only shows up as an Xbox 360 file so that could be the problem. Any ideas?

For now I'm using the High and Dry tone, but I've gotten feedback saying it's a little quiet.
