  1.  I've received over a dozen copyright removal notices and have always replied:

"for educational purposes only, original performance protected under fair use."

I have not lost a dispute or not had a video reinstated yet. My videos are not monetized.

I think putting footage of yourself playing via webcam helps your case as it does then qualify as your own performance, just a noteway with the mp3 would definitely be a grey area as far as infringement I would think.

    Just a sidenote:

the whole infringement/copyright strike thing is ridiculous, you can find ripped MP3 audio tracks with millions of hits all over Youtube that don't get touched... yet Rocksmith educational videos that have hits in the hundreds seem to get targeted.

  2.      So as I haven't had time to post many customs lately, I have been working with a good friend and great guitar player on a new original project, Nubs!

The first single from the EP our guitarist/vocalist is currently working on is just being wrapped up.

Bass and drum parts are still being laid out, but here is a teaser of whats to come. A big thank you to anyone who takes the time to check it out.  :)

  4. Any Blood on the tracks would be awesome. Simple twist of Fate, Tangled up in Blue or Shelter from the storm would be a nice surprise.

Such a great album, probably one of the most honest ever written. Even though he still claims it was not written about his separation from Sara dylan, its hard to believe otherwise; he sounds so damn heartbroken on that record.

  5. I've played tabs for years but I still play the standard way. I didn't feel I needed to invert it, it felt unnatural to me.(BTW I'm a lefty playing right handed...)

Yay! I thought I was the only one here... backwards southpaws ftw! :)

I think this is why complicated fretwork doesn't really bother me, yet tapping/slapping right hand techniques make me fall right on my ass :P

B.B King, Duane Allman and Paul Simon all took the same lefty playing right handed approach; I really couldn't imagine plucking/picking with my dominant hand, it feels like the weirdest damn thing in the world to me.

  6. Kasnitch, those are beautiful ESP's. I used to own an early 90's ESP M-2 Custom in Lemon yellow, best guitar I have put my hands on to date; I expect the newer ESP's are only an improvement. bought it used for 300 in '05, traded it for an 87' Ricky 4001. Still a massive regret letting it get away, Rick's come up for sale often but that guitar was something special!

that said, Here's what i'm currently playing (Bass porn heavy!):

What I do most of my recording on,

MIJ Fender Aerodyne Precision Classic, P/J tone, Super thin/light P body, Jazz neck profile, one of my favorite workhorses!

my Eb bass, Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass:

And the two that don't see the outside world very often, I think both were around 400 models made:

The Boat Anchor! Gibson Silverburst Explorer Bass:

I picked this up because it is identical to Skwisgaar skwigelf's 6-string "Thunderhose" explorer, in bass form. :)

Hipshotted Gibson SG Supreme Fireburst Bass (07' Guitar of the Week promo):

The newest addition, went looking for something that would make it easier to move around, came up with this one.

    http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k435/Altamont613/SG1_zps5ee3f3aa.jpghttp://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k435/Altamont613/SG2_zps6d06d8f2.jpg

I love them all but I've really taken to the short scale SG lately, The finish really comes to life in low light situations and it feels like I work less to do more. :)

  7.     To Echo what bo3bber said above:

I am in the reverse position. I put a good amount of effort into my bass releases, I don't have much will to get into guitar tabbing since my band duties rarely call for me to pick up a guitar.

I don't mind adding Vocals or Proper Riff repeater sections; I think he is spot on when he says an approved-tiered (bronze, silver, gold) system would be great, so those who do release quality single tracks aren't left off the approved list completely.
