I always leave comments on the song thread if I encounter issues. Since I usually add more than 5 songs to my dlc folder at once I have lots of songs that I have never played, this way I can check the list and see if I have downloaded one of this songs and delete it. I can follow the song thread so I can get notifications if the song is fixed.
This is a way to have all the songs with issues together in one handy list. I think its useful.

Is this the error where Rocksmith won't start and says something like "the file has been modified or affected by a virus" or something?

Which files do I need to backup to be safe? It happened to me on rs12 once and it stopped me from playing for a couple of months, don't want that happening again
Look at flameout101 first page post.
You should back up the file ending in prfldb.
For me I just dont care now really, I lost 420hs of playing, imagine how does it feels. I backed up yesterday and I have progression made on like 15 songs ha

We don't want that song in our dlc folder and this happening again. I'm still in mourning for all I have loss. Every time I open my new profile with no progression its like a kick in the balls.
Also if that song was from CS it would be good to communicate with the one who released it and analyze what does it have different from the other songs so this does not happen again. If the bug is detected tutorial on how to make customs could be updated so this bug can be avoided.
It was "Bridge burning" by the foo fighters. To be honest I can't remember if I originally got it on SA or here, and I am not sure if it has been since updated or anything, but I can say with certainty that that song breaks the save file, at least for me.
I don't have that custom so there must be another one that causes this.

Well remembered about verifying local files. I think it fixed the problem.Isn't there supposed to be a verify data integrity function in Steam?
Verifying integrity of game cache did not fix the issue for me.
Anyone knows if this also happened for people without customs? Maybe this is the price to pay for having hundreds of songs worth thousands of dollars if they were released by Ubisoft.
Just a thought but this profile save file was made to keep progress of just RS1 and RS2014 in game songs plus official dlcs, maybe when you have almost 700 custom songs profile just cant cope with it and blows.

My save file also corrupted today...

I just wonder if this is caused by the cdlc or i'm just being so unlucky.
Anyway, thanks for the tips.
Gonna try reinstalling RS2014, and make sure to backup the file in the future.
Hopefully this won't happen again.
I reinstalled RS in my laptop and that did not fix the issue.
The worst thing is that I was really dumb. First thing I did was to check if I can load my profile on the laptop. With that what I did was steam overwrite mi healthy local save with the damaged cloud save. How smart was that? ha
What I should have done was just copy the file without running rocksmith and paste it on my pc.

I had this horrible corrupted save file yesterday and it sucks big time.
I created a new profile and lost all my progress, 420 hours of RS playing. I searched the forum for already existing threads and cant find none. Admins / mods can delete my thread.

I have RS 2014 since it was launched and had no issues, I play in my desk and laptop. Today I attempted to start it and it says that my save file is damaged and if I want to start a new one. I'm really angry now.
When I take my RS out with my laptop I always synchronize all my customs with the desk pc copying everything to laptop exactly as the main desk pc.
I verified integrity of game cache with steam and I also tried to launch with my laptop with the same result. Could the huge amount of customs mess my profile? Should I file a ticket to Ubisoft?
Please I want my RS back!!

While I am looking through this thread, all I can think of is saying f*** you to everyone that has a better guitar than me, but I don't want to sway this topic in a different direction or get myself banned. Don't get me wrong, I love my guitar, which is a Epiphone Les Paul Special II. It's playable, functional, and is mighty sexy, but sadly, not as sexy as these other guitars.
It seems like you love your guitar, they are always better ones and we guitarists have lust for those 6 string things. Its all about how you play not the instrument. Enjoy you're LP and please post a picture of that sexy thing :P

I use bandicam. Click the Video tab and under Record press the settings button. Make sure "Record sound" is checked and for Primary Sound Device select "Stereo Mix". If stereo mix is not an option you may click settings, right click in the white area and select "Show disabled devices.
Also, it has been said that this way doesn't work if you are using HDMI to send audio to your monitor speakers.
I'm trying to record with Bandicam and I got no sound on the video. On control panel show disabled devices don't show anything new like stereo mix. I can set audio exclusivity off in RS but it will not work if it doesn't record from stereo mix as I understand.
RS was already with Audio exclusivity off, I tried fraps with no success, it does not record sound, I tried with every sound option. It seems like I cant record with RS. Some time ago I tried with my laptop and when I clicked on show disabled devices it worked and displayed the stereo mixer but still couldn't record anything. I tried with Audacity to.
The only thing somehow different in m pc soundwise is that I'm not using a on board sound card, I have a external Line 6 GX.

@@Khellendros Wow nice guitars, as I can see your are a Jackson guy like me, I have a JS upgraded and I just love the way she plays, I would be happy to have a japanese or USA made cause if the economical line is this good higher level Jacksons must be astonishing players.
What series is your Kelly JK, if its Student model and its made in India I thought it should be a JS series like mine. Also JS series have sharkfin inlays from just a few years ago. My model is the last JS without those inlays.
That Custom seems to be a one of a kind guitar, looks deadly. Lucky you to have a custom Jackson. Its a custom model built for Death Angel?
