The opinions of the author and those who support them are entirely valid, and I don't wish to inquire into the details of the debate. I simply want to add another variable to consider: Personally, I'm immensely grateful for the new standard, as everything that's been released lately is significantly more fun to play and feels much closer to an ODLC. I honestly wouldn't like to see things go back to how they were before. I'm sure many players have felt the same way recently.
