Seeing him play the "Funk Machine". Incredible!
Like seeing Arthur with Excalibur. :joy_cat:
And, OMG, the narrator in that second video is just so damn WHITE!
Sixties stereotypically white film and tv announcer.

List updated with the latest Sade tracks
Frankly, with Sade's song catalog, we could do a "Sade Appreciation Society".
-
Interesting that "Sir Duke" comes with E standard and Eb standard charts for da Bass! Joy! :D
(Welll...interesting probably to just me anyway.)

Sorry, I work during the weekends and early part of the week so I might have a delayed response to questions, sometimes ... :)
Here are my votes (of course, this is highly subjective) :
Alicia Keys - If I Aint Got You > Yay
Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar > Yay
Black Eyed Peas (all of them) > Nay
Bruno Mars (all of them) > I'd say yay, especially 'Treasure'
Justin Timberlake (all of them) > probably preconceived thinking but...nay
Kool and the Gang - Take My Heart > Yay
Lou Bega - Mambo Number 5 > Hell Nay!
Luther Vandross - Never Too Much > Yay
Rihanna (all of them) > Nay
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five - The Message > Yay
Sade > Yay
Katy Perry > Nay
Britney > Who?
Hall & Oates > Why not?
Madonna > Yay for Like A Virgin, Material Girl would be a Nay though
China Girl and Let's Dance by David Bowie > Nay
All the other songs, I need to listen to them first cause I've never heard of them (the songs, not the artists).
I'm okay with most of this list, as well, by justgimmethefunk.
Except...
Hall and Oates. Okay. Some of their work.
After all they are on the "Blue-eyed Soul" list..(Click me)
In fact, I'll argue that the artists on that list should be added here, if their CDLC's become available. Yes, even Michael Bolton.
Madonna. Nay. No. Hell no. Sorry but 'Grandma Madge' will never fit in either category, IMHO.

Woah! What a performance. That's what I call showmanship.
I don't think many current bands could pull that off. :D
In Platform shoes as well...

Sorry to go slightly off topic here...
I'll go with ...
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
LOL, boy any suggestions of adding him to the rock face of "The Six Grandfathers" usually stirs up a hornet's nest.
But I agree, I have always felt we should cough up the money and put him up there with the four others, based on him lifting the country out of a very dark time, politics and life aside, like Lincoln.

Well...
As much as people are very eager to write in their favorite guitar players in this thread...
(Yup, we're all entitled to our own opinions)
I live in the Rushmore state.
Mt. Rushmore is Gutzon Borglum's memorial to those early presidents that made a difference in the beginnings of the US.
So working on that "theme".... ;)
Les Paul - Early pioneer in the creation of the solid body electric guitar. Without his contribution, and early recorded music with wife Mary Ford, we wouldn't HAVE the instrument or the sound.
Robert Johnson - There are only 29 known recorded songs of his brief legacy. However Robert Leroy Johnson's music is THE beginning of blues and rock music. All of the branches of the Rock family tree lead directly back to him. Died at age 27.
Chuck Berry - Early Rock and Roll pioneer. That signature sound and riffs that are still being copied to this day. One of the reasons he was among the first inductees into the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame".
Jimi Hendrix - Most influential electric guitarist in the history of Rock music. Enough said. Died at age 27.
No offense, but everyone else owes everything back to these four guys.
Even my favorite guitar player, Stevie Ray Vaughn.
That's my opinion anyway for what it's worth. :)

Now as you recommend to use ignition I have to say:
Whenever I go on the ignition page I always have to click on reset to see any songs... that issue kept me on the old search as I see new songs right away. Also being directly able to see all songs by one band or by one charter just by clicking on it is very comfortable. A feature that ignition doesn't have... I really just rather stay on the old search. Please don't remove it.
I agree.
-==-===-==-
I love the fact with the old search I hit my bookmark, page comes up, I immediately see whats been added/updated.
If I want to see a specific Artist, click the link.
That's all I want!
Ignition all I get is a blank page. Every single time! (Firefox user)
Now I have to waste my time (which is very important to me) trying to find the information I want by constantly having to "Browse", and adjust another search filter or two, and then switch pages to get where I want to be.
Sure Ignition looks great, has some interesting search features, pop-ups are cool, but it's not making my life, simpler. ;)
I just want to immediately see whats new/updated.
Can we just have that too? Please? :)

OMG! Well, the Bass parts are definitely not slack at all. WOW...
Best I could get was a 92% on "Moonlight Sonata", but it sure wasn't clean.
Other arrangements was kind of an open mouth, staring at the screen, saying "OMG" over and over experience.
I think if you can master these musical arrangements, you'll be able to play anything.
Great finger exercises and training.
Love "Rondo Alla Turca". Sounds like a Chet Atkins cover to me.
I hope we see another pack like this, soon.
I hope that this inspires others to make CDLC of this type as well.
I hope this also inspires others to go into other genres of music.
Jazz for example.
Please.

"Mary Jane's Last Dance" - Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers 50 (105%)
"Losing My Religion" - R.E.M. 45 (101%)
( All Bass. Good Gawd. I don't remember playing any of these that many times...)
