  1. So I got another Nuno Bettencourt classic around about 98% done. 2 issues I could use help with if anyone has ideas.

Issue #1 - 8 seconds of the song I just can not get sync'd up properly. Nuno goes from around 30 bpm to 150 bpm in 3 bars / 8 seconds and I just suck at getting the sync right there. (all on the purple string around the 5 minute mark)

Issue #2 - RS doesn't seem to register the palm slap/mute that is required to play this song correctly. Any advice on how to correct that would be most appreciated.

V0.01(first test build), no DD - but working so you can see what it's like currently (basic acoustic guitar tone applied) - https://copy.com/GJoGfs7UIMJ7

Folder containing the EOF files should you want to try fixing anything yourself - or just want a better look at it. - https://copy.com/DhpduvGSC4Rw

Any help or advice on how to fix these would be most appreciated.

You've probably already tried these steps but just in case...

#2 - Are you asking how to create a palm mute effect? Meaning seeing the "PM" under the note? If this is your question, its as simple as hitting 'N' once you select a note and then check the palm mute radio button.

#1 - usually you would need to manually move the notes (not relying on the beats) unless you have many notes banded together. Then you can still group the notes and manually slide them to sync (SHIFT + Notes you want to group).

  2. Good to see this topic started as I'm curious to get a sense of how people view multitracks. I just looked that the poll results, showing that ~55% show an interest in multitracks format. That's not a high number and I know the participation rate is still low. But its rather telling and I don't know if peope are just unaware that is exist or generally don't care for it. Hope lots of people respond with their opinions. I personally love it over because I feel that I am part of the band, not some wannabe playing along. BTW to those of you who think multitracks just means pushing out Wwise three times, its just not that simple. On a different note (no pun intended!), I was encouraged to see another charter who yesterday released his first multitrack!

I'll be checking this thread regularly.

    Cheers!

  3. I have a question about charting in EoF, as much like Particle Man, I tweak / chart manually in EoF. I was looking to create an effect that I see sometimes in other CDLCs, where there is an inverted triangle on the note. Its where you play a string then press a note on another fret position on the same string but without re-playing the string. Basically your fingers "hammer" on the fret positions but you don't play the string again because the original sound from the first string play carries thru (I know it sounds super technical).  What do you call this effect and where in EoF can you chart this? Thanks all for your help.

  4. If I may add to other posts, when I first started with cdlc my synch was horribly off and user 'deratio' pointed me to using 'Claps' in EoF (under edit - select Claps). The beat of the claps must coincide when the notes should be played in the song. Its easier to tell when your notes are out of synch when the claps sound is off from the song. Simple tip but it really helped me nail my synch. I had originally used the Midi option in EoF and that's off by a beat or two so don't use that as a guide.

If I can offer another advise is that all of the GP that I found for my genre of music were really bad. Hopefully yours is better. I ended up charting from scratch or completely overhaul the GP file. Don't be surprise if you end up doing that just to get a decent quality cdlc. Hope this helps.

  5. Here are my 3 CDLCs posted in Smithy's Anvil. These CDLCs are for Bass guitar & PC only and do not have DD. I might bring in rhythm & lead guitars in future CDLCs.

    1) A Ha - Take On Me. Latest V3 released 2/15/2014 which went through a rewrite from V2. Here is a You Tube Video of Smithy's Anvil Forum user "leche hombre" playing V3

    2) Midnight Oil - Beds are burning V3

    3) The Romantics - Talking In Your Sleep. (Reviewing possibility of publishing lead guitar in addition to bass).
