  1. First bass scores. Megadeth is straight forward. Might have a problem in your right hand if you're a bit slower with your fingers, although I'm sure using a pick it's a breeze.

GnR is fun, song kind of drags on a little long I feel, but it's definitely a manageable song. This is going to be a score battle week, and for the daring it might be taken further.

  2. is anyone else having a problem with 4 No Uta in score attack????

I keep getting an x when I am at 3, 4 and 5x on the score counter. I thought it only adds an x when you miss at the 1x level.

never get through if this is going to continue.

    any suggestions?

In score attack you fail a section whenever you miss a certain percentage of notes. Not exactly sure, it might just be 50%, but I think it's if you hit less than ~50% of the notes in the section you get the X. The X's and your multiplier aren't related at all.

  3. I haven't entered this before. Do i pick beginner since its my first time?

You pick whatever you believe your level to be! First time I entered was in Master class bass.

Be sure to check the new songs for this week and post scores from those! New weeks start every Saturday as soon as a new topic is posted. And the old weeks end at the time the new one is posted.

  4. Gah been too busy with school, last minute scores again this week. I know I got downleveled on a Lead section after I played it, but could I get by with a percent or two penalty if it's a big deal? I just sight-read it at my buddy's and he just went to bed and I'm off too.

  5. Ugh, absolutely disgusted by this score, but was so busy this week I literally just woke up and sight-read it/listened to the song for the first time and now I have to run out the door late to my practice. Would've loved to play it more, but just didn't have time for an 11 minute song this week.

  6. Apparently there was a 94.93% dilemma. (Case 1, Case 2) Props to @@Azrael for his MM's on Life. 74 plays just on lead is insane. My guitar and game doesn't like the tuning, so I'm done with the song. I actually did really well on the riff for the rhythm path, but actually lost most of my accuracy on the power chords. My game wasn't enjoying them with my guitar.

Tool will be coming later, need a break, haven't had a chance to try it yet.

  7. Damn this will start my diehard status in Rhythm, but the tuning!! I appreciate your DLCs Azrael for all the work you put in them, but I'll probably need to scrounge up some money to change strings because I feel I'm going to snap my highest three tuning them up from D Standard for Open C. They're old anyways, but I'm awful and lazy when it comes to changing strings.

  8. Here's the lead for Super Collider.. On everything. I can play A7X or Billy Talent 30+ times no problem, but the ~13 times I've played Super Collider across all classes seems more than enough, not a big fan of the song at all. Otherwise I'd try for 100 on the Rhythm, the only thing I goofed up was the power chords slides that I really should've nailed. Think I'd rate Super Collider in Rhythm as a 5. Really basic chords with the only tricky part being some ho/po down the F(G) string, but that's pretty easy after breaking it down.

Also, I got fed up with my tones crashing constantly and restarting the game 15+ times. I've been having this problem a lot lately, any ideas how to fix it?

  9. @@Nacholede The only problem with Dream Theater is that Myung uses 5-string bass. Which also brings up another problem, that many good bass songs in progressive bands such as Dream Theater, Protest the Hero (Awesome challenging bass lines off of Fortress album, but all 5-string), etc. all are using 5-string, which is extremely unideal for most of us without 5-strings (Mr. bass myself included)

  10. And that's a problem with bassists. When we have great guitarist, we still get bass, but many times it's extremely easy (Canon Rock this week). Dragonforce guys can make Nacholede scratch his head, but they hate MilkmanDan and don't have bass. And then great bassists cdlc lack guitar. And bass has such great sound, it's a pity.

That basically sums up the problem for bass haha. As for Lead, I think Super Collider fits in perfectly in Advanced, some chords (albeit easy chords) But I think the solo is a pretty good level for Advanced players such as myself if I look into it a bit. The Rhythms a little easy, but it's supposed to be easier in the fact that it isn't throwing in the tough fills and solos, so I'd say it's fitting, although haven't tried the other songs.

  11. I completely agree with Neverend on needing to make some changes to the bass classes. Whether it's how we rate songs, or giving MC Bass it's own song because it's deserving when at least 2 of us can consistently sightread 100%s and mostly everyone else easily sightreads at least 97% in MC Bass. While the MC in Lead and Rhythm for the week generally start in the 70-80% range and by the end of the week the players can get them up to around 90-95%. I start to get bored because I can sightread the songs and don't get challenged by them. That's why I do MM when I like the song because I'll likely play it on my own away from the game, personally I don't like the "radio friendly" Megadeth, so I wouldn't have fun learning this song.

I'll be looking through my downloads and picking out some songs I think would be tougher and actually challenging to 100% over the next while and adding them to the song list. But there really isn't all that much that I think suits the other classes because most of the challenging stuff is generally bass solo stuff that I can think of. (Or ODLC)

  12. @@Latsch Definitely agree, I don't find the bends to be super intuitive in RS, though from what I've played of the Temple of Bends game does give you a better feel for how they work in the game and actually playing them more accurately overall, but it's an area I need to work on for guitar.

The recognition isn't perfect for guitar definitely. But it's weird you're struggling with the arpeggios. I've been nailing them since I did my sight-read of the song. I don't think I've missed a note from them except when I switched to it too late or goofed up the shift.

  13. I keep posting Masterclass scores for lead/rhythm when I want to stick in Advanced. It alright if I do this and stick in advanced? Sometimes I feel the Advanced song is difficult while I find the MasterClass not too tough. I don't know if it's just because the style is different and I'm better at certain styles of songs, like ones with weird rhythms and time sigs opposed to fast solo stuff, which some people are the opposite, like I noticed Neverend, I think it was on Carl Barker saying that he was having trouble finding the groove, but I fit right into the groove in songs like that.

Anyways, the case this week is I find the Satriani difficult because my bends aren't very accurate, so I lost most of my accuracy on missing bends. While I love the Postcard song and find it pretty easy after I RR'd the intro a couple times.

I also don't see the problem with the arpeggios in Postcard either, I'm finding I'm hitting them perfectly fine and they are the most accurate way possible to include sweep chords into RS.

I guess if I were rating, for the lead arrangements I'd give Satriani about 7.5 and Postcard about a 7.

For Rhythm I'd give Postcard maybe a 6.

  14. Welcome to the community.

If or when you want to learn the notes on the neck of the guitar you can install a custom guitar inlay with notes into the game.  You can find a  tutorial and program here for making inlays.  You can also generate a custom inlay with note names from CST.

Do you know if there's a custom inlay anywhere for those playing with the inverted fretboard? ie. With High E(Purple) as the upper most string on the screen.
