  1. F$%ken chord recognition issues . Feels like i'm loosing 3 or 4% just from the random chord misses. I've got the solo down fairly well, but until i figure out why i'm having chord issues i've got little chance of scoring any higher.

  2. Been trying all week to hit the magic 100% but those damn high e 17 bends get me most times......well that and a few brain fades. Pretty happy with the end result especially after thinking i'd really struggle with this at the start of the week.

  3. Coheed & Cambria - Nice tune. Certainly highlights my lack of string skipping ability.......this will take a lot of RR to get anywhere near @@MaZtoR's score

OK......i was wrong. Pretty straight forward once the muscle memory adapts. Hopefully i can push this one close to 100%.

  4. New day and new approach. A little bit of RR and some finger training and i got this.

Almost 7% increase in less time than yesterdays 1%. Practice smart, not hard.

Nice one! I'm struggling to push through the 90% barrier so i took a similar approach.

I recorded a playthrough in RR at full speed so i could determine where all my misses are occurring.

That quick hammer on and pull off on the A string usually gets me, along with the chord switch in the chorus.

So I've put a bit more RR into these sections.....as yet it hasn't paid off...grrr.

  5. Geez, who picked this song!.....

Haven't played it in a while. Lot faster than i remember it. Anyhow, after a little RR and a 85% speed runthrough first, i got this at full speed:

Also had a crack at Bass. I'd love to jump on the bandwagon and buy a bass but the 'Minister for finance and household harmony' suggests i need to sell a motocycle first  :(.

  7. Really expected to do better than this. Again had massive issues with chord recognition. Maybe time for an upgrade (good tradesmen always blame their tools  :P). Guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica 012 which by all accounts is a great first guitar. Chords sound fine through the amp, i've played each string of the chord individually to confirm i'm not muting anything i shouldn't be. In the end i found strumming up near the single pickup next to the start of the neck gave the most consistant result....i got an extra 2% just from this, but still missing some of the chords.

Anyhow, this is it for me this week. My wife will kill me if she hears this tune once more.....

  8. Ok....so i had a break and played some emulated bass to clear my head of those MF chords and got this.......

.....then came back to lead and got this. Purely just from re-tuning after playing some standard E tunes. I don't think i played any better than my previous scores. Dissapointed i couldn't crack 80%.

  9. Man i'm having a hard time with this one. Although most of the issues are related to 'operator error', i'm also having massive issues with simple chord recognition - namely that C5/G in the chorus and that weird F/A about 3/4 through. I've tried tuning flat, sharp, checked intonation.......grrrrrr!
