I began work on this track a while back, but dont know why i did not release it yet. It may be possible wrong riffs in 1 or 2 spots, ill have to look into it. other than polishing it up a bit it should be near completion after vocals and whatnot are added. Hammerfall fans needed for input on what needs work for final release. Gotta polish it up a bit more before i can personally release it.

currently trying to iron out the tab work on the song, will need some testers soon. the bass part is easy, the rythym part is moderately easy, but ill need some fresh eyes soon to test the lead, rythym, and bass parts.

im sure i have several other bands that just dont come to mind at the moment, but they are all most likely bands you may find on satelite radio and never on FM stations.

I use GPA. You have to put links to sync the GP Tab with the MP3 file. You got the wavefrom under the tab, so you have to listen and put the links in the right spot. And there you check if is a little bit out of sync, or if it's right. You do this until you got everything done and you think all is synced 

 

The project i was trying to sync up needs massive re-editing in eof the more i listen to it. the tab lacks the bends and slides that i need, so i will have to just about completely redone. (im kinda being a perfectionist on this track...) i was not really aware that Stratovarius - 4000 rainy nights had so many intricate techs in it. i do intend to use GPA in the future for easier tracks. i gotta thank Berneer for that bend/slide tut, its coming in handy!

im trying to learn easier ways of syncing the tabs with mp3's before they hit eof. currently im using tuxguitar and go play along. every effort ive had to try to sync the mp3 to the tab, loaded together in go playalong, has ended up being off by 1 or 2 beats. i can adjust full measures in tux guitar, but dont fully understand how the audio syncs with the tab in go play along. it always seems to be 1 or 2 beats off. if i can learn or master that end of it, eof would be so much simpler to throw everything together. anyone have experience with this process that can point out what im supposed to do here without totally re-writing the gp file?

the 3 i have just written recently have the DD left out of them. to get to the point of understanding how to make a working cdlc ive had to look through separate tuts to piece it all together. i would like to update the 3 i have so they are not sub-par, but its a bit difficult to fix what i cant see or dont notice other than the DD and the lyrics/vocals.

edit - nm, im a goof or something, figured out the DD.

Finished, minus the lyrics. If theres any better suggestions on the tones, im welcome to hear them. i had a bit of trouble trying to find just the right clean tone for the rythym part. i havent tested the lead part yet, and i dont really want to submit this until i get a tester or 2 just to be sure.

A bit of help will be needed for this as i have different rythym arrangements and would like opinions on what fits best with the dlc. I will post both different versions here. The most popular of the 2 will be the submitted dlc, if neither can be decided, i can try to splice the 2 together, but would take a bit longer to set up.

got the timing pretty close now. had to set it off from the waveform, so it may not be perfect yet. soon as i set a good tone to it, ill upload it for testing.

took a few days off working on it to get a fresher look at it. still having issues with the RS notes comming in 1-1.5 secs earlier than the music. when i get that done, ill be finished with the lead part.

just updated them the other day. it cleared up a few errors i was having. its most likely something im doing or not doing. im concentrating on the lead part at the moment. if i can get that locked in ill add bass and rythym after.

i would have been done already, but i am currently having issues with the note syncing process. i believe others have had issues with the notes being in sync with eof and the waveform and not in RS, but i dont want to sound like a broken record. ill figure out what i am doing wrong, and do a few touch ups.

Figured id try my first project on Stratovarius - Hunting High and Low. When i get it completed, ill post it here. I do intend to try some other Stratovarius after.
