Since the patch yesterday, my microphones are forced into exclusivity mode by the game, which prevents me from streaming or recording myself. I have experimented with turning exclusive mode off in-game, and with making my mic non-exclusive in windows. This only results in the game no longer being able to detect my realtone cable. It seems that several people (many streamers) have encountered the same problem since the patch, and from what I can tell no one has figured out a workaround. Everything I try seems to either make Rocksmith2014 or OBS crash due the the mics constantly being put in exclusive mode (even when plugged in after the game has started and is running).

The above is my interacttion with support - I'll let y'all know if I hear any more...

  2. @@Deratio At one point, i would strongly suggest to bring your issue to Ubisoft support directly, i can only offer ideas but i don't know what they changed and how it interact with other software is a complicated matter, the more people will tell them the issue, the more likely they will be fixed or have a proper solution.

DO NOT mention CDLC to the support though.

Just finished doing exactly that...and now we wait...

Really wanting to get back to streaming as soon as I can.

  3. @ The source of the issue is that Rocksmith now take exclusivity on all input he can so any other software that try to access those source won't be able to initialize properly.

The first suggestion that comes to mind is to disable the "give priority to exclusive application" on the recording device option.

I did this and rocksmith was no longer able to see that my realtone was plugged in. I'm running out of ideas here...

  4. no problem. i will start getting them to you as i scan them. im looking forward to this. and appreciate all the collaboration.

by the way...did anyone check out that fire on the mountain from winterland 12-31-78 i put up? its a good one.

Can you link this? I did a search and I can't find it (I'd love to give it a shot)

  5. I've been listening to the Allman Brothers Band: Live at Fillmore East album. Duane is just ridiculous, and Berry Oakley really holds it down on bass:

I have been addicted to this album for about a year:

Yeah, Detroit punk! m/ The documentary regarding this band is available on Netflix streaming, btw.

I got to go to a screening of that at the film festival here and the band was in attendance. They gave a little talk afterwards then played their set at a bar down the road. That was a great evening :)

  6. Does this make the end note/fret of the slide show up in Rocksmith? I'll give it a try tomorrow, my eyes are way too bleary now...

Ctrl+up or down makes a definite ending for the slide - ctrl+u are those slides that just kind of fade away before they end (I think they are called unfretted slides)

  7.

FIX the slides! I screwed those up-- I still need to learn how to tab those!

Basic slides are done the same as sustains - select the note, set the length of the slide with the mouse wheel, then press ctrl+up arrow/down arrow for a slide

Figure out how to chart the down-slide

In this case, instead of ctrl+up/down, you press ctrl+u (unfretted slide)

Lyrics (if I can figure out how to do this)

Ultrastar creator is your friend :) copy/paste the lyrics and synch them in there.

  8. R&B (I assume that's what you mean) can mean so many different things that its an essentially meaningless designation imo. You are going to have to give an example of what you like before I know what you mean :)

Edit: your subject is rock & roll - you aren't asking for rock & roll artists, are you? That's a pretty easy one to find cdlc for if that's what you were asking.

  9. Thanks so much for the NoMeansNo song, never expected to see a custom of that. You got some crazy cross section of music

Thanks man - I plan on doing another soon (ish) - I found a good stash of NMN tab the other night

  10. Die in a fire? Hmm.

I don't make customs --yet -- because I work two jobs, have a wife and two kids, and need time to play guitar. I'm hoping to have a bit of a break in my workload in a couple of months, at which time I may well give it a shot, since I do enjoy playing with software. But I'm usually into the creative parts, not much of a technician.

I do try to contribute in other ways, as small as they may be.

As for opening other people's customs and working on them: I think there should be a section here in Customsforge where customs builders who are open to working as a team can post their CDLCs. By doing this they can agree to relinquishing authorship, or at least sharing it. Perhaps they can call themselves "Team Leader" or something like that.

Maybe not a fire (I was kidding btw). I personally think that all of these releases are open source - none of us own the rights to any of these songs, so I don't care if someone modifies anything I do. Obviously I won't release things that I have revised to compete with the author, but getting hung up on ownership seems like a bad idea.

And I am aware that there are lots of ways to contribute - and I'm not taking anything away from that, I was just suggesting that spending an hour or 2 learning to fix the problems that no one else is fixing would be more useful than trying to designate a group of unpaid testers to work through tonnes of releases and provide their subjective opinions. I would prefer no gatekeepers, just the community and my own standards.

  11. Perfectly understandable Marty, but you've already been helpful to me with the feedback.  And I'm certain that official DLC is done by a team.  I remember reading that there is at least a peer review process.

Absolutely true. Every one of my releases has has some kind of problem for the 1st version or 2. I test the hell out of them, but I don't play guitar and there are so many factors that I accept that I am going to miss something. I can only fix what I know about, so community feedback is very important to me.

If you are making suggestions and the cdlc author is not responsive, then It is on you to fix the cdlc - anyone can open these and make changes as needed. If your reasoning is "I don't want to learn how to make cdlc and I want some kind of guarantee on quality for the work other people do" then you need to a. evaluate and change that or b. die in a fire.

  12. Slides: for an unpitched slide: select the note->ctrl+u->set the ending fret->scroll your mousewheel to extend the slide just like you would a sustain.

For a pitched slide do the same, but instead of ctrl+u you press ctrl+up arrow or down arrow (depending on the direction of the slide)

There were a few fast 2-fret slides in the song that you hadn't added any length to, so they appear as a wierd little line. Easily fixed though.

  13. K I just played it, and it plays great! There were a few runs in there that sounded like shit, but I'm pretty much positive that it was down to my playing. This is one of those Beatles songs like And Your Bird Can Sing that is going to take me months to pull up to 97%+. It' never the songs by them that I expect to be the hard ones. Like Obla-di Obla-da - omfg that's a tricky song to pull off right.

Thanks for this, man, this'll give me something to chew on :)
