  1. i have been afraid of loosing a cable due to breaking... so after buying the original rocksmith with the cable, i bought 2014 with cable just to be safe, then i found 2014 for xbox one on amazon for 29.99 with cable i bought that too. so far so good all three cables work and i take real good care of the main one i use and stored the other two in a safe place away from kids and pets. any time i go to used game stores or pawn shops i keep an eye out for additional rocksmith cables, to prepare for the future of not being able to replace them, do to ubisoft not making them anymore. though i hope they make another rocksmith using the same cable to keep the other versions usable. i still play the original title from time to time and i know i will play the pc version of 2014 for even longer!

  3. guys, I tried to play left-handed, and it is a bad feeling, and how to take for the first time the guitar, the hand on the keyboard and rigid can not move unless by crushing a few notes, and as if a right-handed ate holding a fork with his left hand, and I eat with my left ... the only positive thing is the posture of the pick with the left hand can hold it better and feel more free, here I realized how stupid I was not to have started immediately to learn from left-handed, I would become a great guitar player in my opinion more natural, but now that I've tried, I realized that it is virtually impossible to relearn it would take a very long time, perhaps years, and a lot of patience, but in nearly 30 years impossible to have the vision and the desire to start over ... so, I realized something, maybe it's better to improve the problems I sounding like I always have, otherwise risk of even reverse the brain XD. I tried I was curious, but it is folly to start from scratch after years of experience. :)

well at least you tried, you know and can stick with how you have been playing. i will probably try it myself the next time i need to change the strings on one of my guitars.

  4. hello guys, I'm left-handed, but the sound from the right guitar for almost 10 years, but I always had trouble playing it and always with doubts and dissatisfaction especially with regard to the hand with a pick, I never played naturally but always with the feeling of being forced. I just now came the bright idea of turning the guitar strings and start from scratch lefty just helping with Rocksmith and try this new adventure ... do you think it is a good idea to start all over again, how much time it should or would be a madness?? Thanks in advance for your advice possible and apologize if I write bad English.

i am the same as you, a lefty but using right handed guitar. i found it easier to get access to right handed guitars over the years either buying, borrowing... i have been playing right handed but find it hard sometimes pulling off certain techniques. i was tempted a few times to switch one of my guitars to left hand, just to see if i can play better. i hope it works for you, as i find i get frusterated at times with playing guitar and i always wonder if it is because i am naturally left hand but using right handed guitars. thanks to your post i might just try this too. as i have a few guitars and changing one to lefty wouldn't be too big an issue, and i could always switch it back if i do not see any beneficial change.

  5. OK, I bought a copy of the original rocksmith, for the 360. I put it in the xbox one this morning, in the hopes of loading the game, then having it recognize that I had the older version, and be able to import the base songs from the older version to be able to play in the newer version.

However, I hit a snag. The old version of rocksmith won't load / play on the xbox one. It says this game is not compatible with the xbox one. I remember reading though that is said if you had the previous version of the game, you could pay to import the old songs into the new version. Anyone have any idea how to do this for the xbox one, if you don't have an xbox 360, but have an old version of the game?

you will need to find a friend with an xbox 360, log in with your gamer tag, unlock one acheivement in the game, make sure your connected to xbox live. then you should be able to go back to the xbox one and within rocksmith 2014 (xbox one version) store to purchase the import pack. that is the only way to import the original rocksmith songs into rocksmith 2014 (xbox one version).

The thing is that most of the song available in RS are played with electric guitar. But that doesn't mean you can't learn acoustic guitar with it.

There's some acoustic song that are on disc and in DLC, and looking at the 18k of CDLC, you'll probably find some that are played with acoustic gutiar too.

But acoustic guitar and electric guitar have a lot of common ground and technique so even songs played on electric guitar are playable on an acoustic guitar and arcade games are usable with acoustic guitar too.

Also learning is a complicated task and there's time where you gonna feel like you don't get better at all and it's normal, it's hard, but that's the case for everybody! You're not alone in this :)

Thanks. I actually got Yousician now, practiced for an hour and a half and i feel myself getting a lot better. I just have an issue with changing frets. I play the Ducks Dux game on Guitarcade and i'm starting to remember the position of each fret but i need to learn a proper technique. So far what i do is i just use my middle finger and slide it from fret 3 to fret 9 and so on, but is that how it needs to be done, or should i use different fingers when switching frets?

if you have an iphone or ipad i suggest getting uberchord. i learned a lot using uberchord vs rocksmith or yousician. i warm up with 20 mins of uberchord before playing rocksmith. uberchord is free. p.s. its only in the app store under iphone but you can still search for it on ipad.

Downloaded it for my Ipad. Il try it out tomorrow. Thanks!

it has a great built in tuner too! i have been playing rocksmith since the 2012 version, and i think i have learned more in the last month with uberchord when it comes to core fundamentals. i hope you stay inspired with playing guitar.
