Ah, cheers. Yeah, basically there were two alternate endings to one riff and callbacks to said endings much later in the song. Took me a good 20 mins to fix.
Could you explain that process in detail?
The gp5 exporter isn't too good with repeats/alternate endings, it's an issue with the guitar pro software. I've only used gp5/6 so not sure if its fixed in 7 but I doubt it is. It even occurs with tux guitar when converting tg or gpx files. For whatever reason, certain alternate endings in older GP files (GP6 and older) don't import correctly. Some do, others don't. Any idea why this occurs?
I reckon it's not getting fixed any time soon and you'll just have to fix it manually (which is normally just adding/removing an extra repeat so it's not too bad but quite annoying)
There's no real set way to do it, it just depends how it got screwed up.
Check the number at the end of the bar and check it matches up with the song
if it's too many/little repeats make sure the yellow square is in the right bar and remove and re-add the repeat close and change the value to match the song.
Another way to do it is to just remove the repeats to fix the song
So this
would become this
It's all a bit fiddly but it's not too bad once you figure out how the repeats work and how it got screwed.
oh also if it gets stuck, add a repeat open to the alt ending.

I only seem to have this issue when converting tux guitar tabs into gp5 tabs that use repeats. I guess its an issue with tux guitar converting the files.
I use guitar pro, so idk :P

EOF has supported repeats and alternate endings for years and nobody has said it isn't working until now. Make sure you're using the latest hotfix, because the unpatched 1.8RC12 release of EOF wouldn't have years of fixes.
If you send me the Guitar Pro file, I'll check it. Until then, I'll assume the latest EOF imports it correctly.
Sorry if I was rude, I don't mean to be. Here's the GP https://drive.google.com/file/d/12XqZ5PkPuo_uVAIQZ0vqMrbrpni1ij1u/view?usp=sharing

The Guitar Pro file probably has measure repeats, where the transcription was authored to intentionally repeat measures. If you provide me the GP file in question I can confirm if this is the case.
It seems to have repeats, as well as alternate endings which EoF doesn't seem to handle well (or at all in this case). Is there a workaround?

It's hard to explain. In the GP file, there are 160 measures total, but editor on fire the last note ends at measure 214. Where are these extra measures coming from?

For a long time now, EOF's default "Accurate TS" option (a per-chart setting in Song>Properties) is enabled for new charts and will adjust beat lengths to account for both tempo *and* time signature (which is correct) instead of just tempo. This means non #/4 time signature changes will have a notable effect.
To preserve your beat timings, you should be able to turn off the accurate TS song property, import the GP file, re-enable accurate TS and then take EOF up on its offer to alter the tempos to keep the beat positions intact. Please let me know if you find this doesn't work for your chart or if you can demonstrate that the beat lengths calculated based on a beat's tempo and time signature are not accurate.
Thanks homes! That seems to have solved my issue. Appreciate that.

Not sure why, but when I import guitar pro files into EoF and also apply the time signature from said file the beatmap becomes all sorts of messed up. Didn't occur in the previous version.

There's some songs (Like King of Sorrow and the vast majority of the Sleddin' Hill album by August Burns Red) that have frequent BPM changes. How do you translate this into Rocksmith? You can only set an average BPM. Thanks!

As the title says. Any GP5 files I import have their repeat close and open parts completely ignored. Tested with this tab. The screenshot shows where the intro notes start. The Time signature is way off and the notes don't start in the right place. The whole intro section is 140BPM.
