  1. No need to thank me I just took it over after the move from Smithyanvil and this competition was as much for myself as it is for everyone else. I love the competitions and will be participating more often now. Seeing everyone still competing and watching the improvements on a weekly basis was always my motivation for running the championships and its great to see that its still keeps going without me.

.... Well decision was not easy, as a matter of fact lack of competition made it lots easier :)

... I'm going, but who knoes me i wont be going without a hard fight for the win :)

You will be in advanced a lot faster than you think if you put your energy into practicing at least an hour or so every day. I promise you that.

    Conclusion:

    1. Good old Beatles song. It has quite nice rhythm to it. The tab itself is not too hard, it features a lot of double-stops. There is a section that might prove to be difficult to the beginners as it requires bit of speed and accuracy together, but the section doesn't last long so its nothing too difficult.
    2. Well, this was one of the hardest "Intermediate" songs I've played so far. It had lots of fast sections, along with a few quick solos and a main riff that wasnt really easy. This song could be an advanced song in my opinion.
    3. Holy maccaroni! I was judging the book on its cover on this one. I said: "Eh, Iron Maiden! Lots of fast stuff, palm mutes. I won't end up with a good mastery %"
I wrong. The song started with a nice damn intro followed by an good main riff that just felt nice to play. At one point there was a sick guitar solo going on, and i was surprised i was still playing the rhythm of the song but then i got a bit of solo to play (which of course was a hard :) ). Overall I'd say this was easier and more fun to play than this week's Intermediate selection.
      Sorry @@steroma :(
    4. Coming into the song, I saw the lenght and all those little towers on the DD tab op top and i was a bit scared for my own finger's safety. Well my concern came true.
Its a relly nice song up to at around 60% where all those tall slim towers begin. If you know RS2014, you know thats always the hard solo. Oh boy it was hard. And so long. (pun not intended).
At that point i was just improvising as the notes went so damn fast that i couldn't possibly get them into my brain then into fingers. Rest of the song is harder but in a fun way. Also there
a one tiny section of it at the end where the solo returns. The Return of The Solo. Easier but still too hard. The song itself was a nice song to listen to.

Glad you liked the Iron Maiden song but I recommend playing the actual Rhythm Arrangement if you want a challenge. The solo on the Rhythm Arrangement is a lot harder but the Rhythm Arrangement is a lot of fun as well.

  4. So i put that file that I have into a folder on its own with just the Exe file of your program and it keeps happening but I can't copy whats in the log and paste it here.... Does the program output to a log file and if so where does it put the log file? When I open the txt file thats generated its empty.

Here is a screenshot of the error. Mind you this might be an old file and may be corrupted but am not sure.

EDIT: Just downloaded the file again from here and tried both files again and still get the same error from below for both files.

EDIT2: Just redownloaded your program and tried it with the new updated one from an hour or 2 ago and still same exact error. Not sure why you are not able to recreate it.

  5. Found a small bug, I have a file that originally was named something else and it renamed it to this

    Underoath_Ive-got-10-friends-and-a-crowbar-that-says-you-aint-gonna-do-jack_v1_DD_p.psarc

Now if I run it again after and it gets back to this file it crashes and says file name too long. It unpacks this file and then crashes and leaves the files it unpacked in the folder. Not a big deal but thought I would bring it to your attention.

  6. Would it be possible to make this program also scan the folders inside the dlc folder? For example I have over 1000 customs in my dlc folder and a lot have been sorted into their own subfolder so that I can keep track of them by artists. Right now (at least after using it last night) the program was able to edit all my customs in the Main dlc folder but ignored all the subfolders. If this program could do that I would be very grateful. I know its also asking for a lot but a way to rename and sort into a folder would be awesome, its not a problem if it can't as sorting them manually isn't that big a deal now with this program being able to rename the files with the Artists names in there but man would it be great. I know I am lazy but automation is the best invention ever lol.

  7. I tried this out last night and it seems to be working great but one thing I noticed is that It will not scan any folders which may be in the DLC folder. It will scan all the cdlc in the dlc folder but will not check any sub folders inside that folder. Its not a huge deal but I thought I would point that out. Another thing is I copied over my dlc folder to another folder on my drive and tried that folder first and the program was able to finish the conversions but when I moved the program to my actual game dlc folder it works great but then crashes after almost completing it. It has done this twice on me so far. If you need a log or something to see why its crashing let me know and I will upload it (if one is even created) when I get home tonight.

  8. Been away too long and just saw this thread... In my opinion you guys are taking on way to much work. This competition was supposed to be for people to join in and just compete against other people in their same classes for FUN. If you guys want a way to "learn" the songs I suggest something completely different. Setup another challenge and just do MM for that challenge. This will help in actually learning the songs. You can make this weekly bi-weekly or monthly the choice would be up to everyone. You guys are making this competition a little too extreme and confusing for everyone. I love what you guys are trying to do but in making it too complicated with more rules and more unnecessary changes you are alienating the competitors. I live my life by this acronym K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Stupid). Too much thinking about something that should be simple will drive you guys nuts.  Personally I still don't understand how the class leveling is done but I love the concept however it is extremely difficult to enforce and keep up to date and requires a lot of time and energy (which i compliment you guys on for taking the time to do it).

You need to remember no matter how much you put into this and try to make it work there is always going to be someone who is unhappy with something. Focus on having fun with the competition and not making it so confusing and people will be happy. I personally like the idea of having another class option as sometimes there are intermediate songs that are more MC quality and some that are more Beginner quality so its tough to just keep 3 classes but at the same time there are also MC songs that are a lot easier than some Intermediate song choices so finding the balance is key. Try not to overwork yourselves here as this is mainly supposed to be a friendly and FUN competition, adding to many rules and other things will make it too complicated and take away the fun. Lets all have fun with this competition and stop trying to make it what its not supposed to be. One week is fine for competing against each other, for learning songs the right way thats a whole different story which should not be a part of the competition at all. Everyone who wants to really learn a song will play it outside of the competition or continue playing the song way after the week is up.

This is just my opinion but you guys should really take a step back and a breather and really think about how much time and energy you guys want to invest on this. You will never make everyone happy so you should just do what makes the Majority happy.

  9. I also used a different version of Holy Wars, I have the custom that is made by Glen which is probably the best one of them all. If you notice my screenshot has no DD and thats not from me removing the DD either. You don't have to count my score as I just wanted to post a score on it. @ can verify that the custom I used is valid or invalid.

  10. Hello all, this may or may not come as a surprise but after giving it a great deal of thought I have decided that I need to step down as championship organizer. I just don't have the time to manage the competitions anymore. @ has been doing a great job since he came on to help so I am hopeful that he will continue to help with the competition. Unfortunately my time gets shorter and shorter every week what with work and family life so my time on the forums is very limited. I know you guys have noticed that my updates have been coming slower and slower every week and I apologize for that. I may pop in from time to time if time permits but I just don't have the time to be as active as I was before.

Anyone who would like to help participate with updating the Leaderboard just send me or Motive a PM and we will grant you access. It was a pleasure to be a part of the competition for so long and I hope you guys keep going.

P.s. Please, see changes in Championship Class Lists!

  12. Cant belive Metallica - Nothing else matters wasn't done yet :P

It is not super hard, but still it should be mc i think. (Maybe int, but a quite hard int)

    http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/nothing-else-matters-r2181

Red hot chili peppers - Californication

Cool song, not too hard. It has one of the easiest solos i ever played, but still sounds pretty cool. Would fit for int.

    http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/californication-r3545

What im really loving at the moment: Dire Straits - Sultans of swing

Its not as hard as I thought in advance, and it has such awesome little riffs in it.

But its a lot of work if you want to do the entire song. Definitifely masterclass.

My favorite: Red hot chili peppers - Under the bridge

Epic song, so nice to play. Masterclass. With enough patience even feasible for intermediate players. (Dont let you fool by the first part, its quiet difficult at the beginning, just ignore it for the first times and get it on later)

    http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/under-the-bridge-r3573

    Boston - Peace of mind

Turn up difficulty to max and be suprised how nice that song is :).  Probably Masterclass. Also here feasible for int players, but a lot of work.

    Mary jane's last dance

I played it so often and still don't get it satisfying. Masterclass.

    Aviable in Rocksmith 2014

Most of those songs i will play at least another 50 times. Even if they require a lot of time, for me it would be so worth being able to play them :) Would be nice to see one of it in the Championship sometime! B)

Thank you for the additions to the list I will add them to the first post when i get a chance. As for them showing up in the championship, the easiest way to get that to happen is for you to add your name to the list located here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjwrZsjBtcJEdFBlVHJfRzF3Z2VxWEkzUEN2MTZnTkE#gid=0

and add the songs to that list. The way we choose the songs for each week are taken from this spreadsheet and we encourage everyone to add their name and song choices to the list each week.
