  1. I found (on my guitar anyway) that if you tune to the lower end of the tuning range, for a given string, you get less misses. Ie. Tune your strings very, very slightly flat.. That's on my EB 11's.

    edit..

Also, I find that I get less misses when my guitar is switched to 'Lead' (Bridge pickup) than when set to Rhythm (neck Pickup). It really does depend on the song being played. This has been tested playing the same song on both settings and is especially true when playing chords.

  2. I run it (winter months - long story) on my Samsung laptop.

    i5 3rd Gen with Intel 4000 gfx.

    12GB ram and an SSD.

Runs fine at 720p and graphics slightly reduced (turning off crowd).. I needed to fiddle a bit with the settings but it is definitely easily playable.

I wish my 15.6 inch screen was bigger though. Projector maybe?? ;)

Oh, you will need something to eliminate ground loop, if you're feeding it through a HiFi or Amp.. :)

  3. We must found balance, between fun and learn for grow. Different participations have different goal. One to want only fun, other to want only up skill. Truth is in the middle :)

I'm concentrating 100% on fun this week as I don't have a guitar with me. ;)There was a band playing at the hotel last night and I was checking out the lead and rhythm fretting and techniques. Wish I had a guitar here.. :(Seriously though, I am 60/40 - learn/fun normally..Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

  4. I wouldn't practice the same song for 2 hours. Mental tiredness and frustration is a risk.

Its like most things; allow what you learn in the first hour to sink in by going to sleep (rest on it).. You might find the session the following day is much more productive. :)

If you're not sure what its asking of you at 50%. Hit escape at the difficult sections and look at the notes when they've stopped. :)

  5. Not getting much time this week to practice but had about 15 mins in riff repeater and my score up 10% since last time!

Motorhead Lead 85% with 72 streak..

Some silly mistakes which I'll iron out and 90% should be possible next time round.

Not before this Saturday unfortunately  :( as I won't be playing tomorrow (off out) or Saturday (out all day).

    Crrrrapp..

    Good luck all..

  6. @Collison.

I went from 10's to 11-48. Found to be less buzz and better note recognition (especially drop D).

Just change 1 string at a time and you'll be fine. Easy peasy on my Gibby.

You will probably want to adjust the truss rod (tighten by only 1/8 turn at a time then leave to settle) to straighten the neck slightly. I didn't need to adjust my bridge.

Plenty of vids for both on YouTube.. :)

No time to play so far this week. Hopefully tonight.. :D

  7. First shot at Motorhead on Lead..

@. Yeah, was bending two strings with the one finger. It doesn't need much to get the right note.

  8. I think I might have managed to find out how to fix, or at least minimise, misses from bends (at least for the Muse song - worked for me).

After you tune the guitar at the start of the song, loosen the B & G strings (used in the bends) slightly. 1/16 turn or so.. If it doesn't work, loosen some more.

  9. Rule #2 (It's allowed on Easy, providing no DD)..

Not sure about the timing tolerances though! I suppose everyone should play on easy for non-DD songs, to ensure fairness. :)

Oh.. Quick go on Master Mode (Metallica)..

Doesn't beat my Hard score but just for fun... :D

  10. Thanks man.. Was just looking at the toolkit. This will save me some time, thanks!
Though I will learn when I get a minute!  :)

edit.. Thanks to @@MaZtoR for the non-dd version..

Fluffed the damn chords a bit but back up to 78% amd 51(wtf!!!) streak. Some of the bends weren't recognised.
