  1. For Bass:

    Bubbles - Biffy Clyro

Welcome Home - Coheed and Cambria (fucking awesome track!)

Just to Get High - Nickelback... not entirely sure why I even DL'd Nickleback, I'm not really into their material but, it was an o.k song to play and if one is a follower of their music, it's a nice simple one to play.

  2. For me RR is a gift that keeps on giving. It's a dexterity dream to have a feature that slows the pace of the song and it's certainly improved my accuracy on hitting the right frets and not just flapping my fingers adjacently over the strings. I rarely reduce the difficulty as I find when you start at the low difficulty when the extra notes are introduced it is like having to learn an entirely new song again so 8 out of 10 times I just slow it down to 75% and play sections until they're satisfactorily nailed. My methods of play are:

    Play through.

    Find the repetitive hook.

    Play that to death.

    Find the solo.

    Play it to death.

    Play on hard score attack.

    Smooth out rough spots.

I still practice the songs we've used in competitions that I didn't quite get 100% in that I enjoyed... have yet to nail Full speed space machine but damn it's a fun song and I usually play it at least twice a day :) (It may even surpass the 406 plays I've invested on Sweet Mountain River)

I see RR as competition to compete with myself and the score attack to try and compete with others, it's all fun :)

  3. I'm a lady, but I do regularly get called Brian by my mates because i apparently look like Brian Molko of placebo... Which is an improvement from Shakey as a kid, then my similarities were with Shakin' Stevens. I'll answer to dude too, I'm comfy :)

  4. Zoom, by Fat Larry's Band. It's still my all time favourite song but the bass line in it is just lovely, like a heartbeat and it generally just makes me feel happy to hear it :).  When I was a kid though, I decided to get a guitar (no idea why the bass never crossed my mind back then when purchasing a guitar o.O.) but I'd have to say, Dreamline by Rush from the Roll the Bones album. It's fecking amazing! It's massively atmospheric that tune, made me feel like I was outside in the cold night, escaping a filthy town of stray dogs and smog. The rhythm makes it a great track to run to and the lyrics so descriptive, when I first heard it I felt like I was reading an epic novel, and didn't put the album down for at least a year. I still have the copy I recorded off of my friend Andy's (Thanks Andy for introducing me to the most amazing band on the planet, wherever you are! ) original cassette ... not sure it is still playable, it has wine on it :)

  5. I dunno, there's still a point, pitting myself against other players certainly compels me to play my best. Plus there are a lot of new techniques to pick up from songs you may normally have never minded playing. That said, it's personal preference, there is no wrong or right way to compete in this, really just the 3 p's apply, and the 4th being for your pleasure.
