  1. The other day, while I was looking through the files of the game, charting its unused features, I learned a new thing I wasn't aware of after 1400+ hours: pressing "-" when you have a song selected switches between LAS and SA. It's in the manual, but not in the controls at the bottom of the screen.

Also, have you ever opened the sort menu (on PC, hold TAB) and pressed a key (a-z) while the sort menu is open? (works when you have the song list sorted in a way that can be sought by pressing a key). Probably will be fixed in the remastered version. :P

Excellent. That latter part I always did accidentally and couldn't figure out how I had done it heheh :D Thanks @@iminashi for clearly describing what I thought was happening by magic :)

  2. @@Gamut that's awesome, it is a shame that Celine Dion seems to be the most recognised Canadian in our land. I do my best to spread the word and educated my friends on Canadian rock music though (mostly Rush mind you) :) the coheed track is one of my favourites too, I will probably do a video of that one too. Very excellent choices this week. MC sounds terrifyingly difficult but I will give a punt at what sounds like an orgy of sweep arpeggios! Again, big thanks for burthdee wishes. I feel much love :D

  3. John's dad is from Sussex England :) I found out that bit of trivia after we bought him a beer. I told him I had rellies in Toronto... conversation dried up when I couldn't say where exactly as I've never visited. One day I'll go to Canada and settle there in my log cabin next to the lake with a mountainous backdrop /sigh :) I do love Canada :)

  4. Apologies for the gigantic pics but here's my claim to fame :) My best friend and I went to see Monster Truck about 2.5 years ago at a small venue in Manchester. I'd only just had my second baby boy, Bob,  was knackered and had "Guy" hair (Guy being the toothy character from kids 90's comedy, "Maid Marian and her Merry Men.") John (bassist, in glasses) and Jeremy the guitarist were really nice and I politely requested them to have our pictures taken with them :) I then promptly got home and started running every day to shed the baby weight :D Good times! Really great band to watch live in a little venue too :)... not competition related apart from the subject matter but I'm taking liberties cos it's me birthday :D xxhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v699/Moodswing/1743642_10151953007536644_634456789_n_zpsnd8z5h7z.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v699/Moodswing/1966782_10151953007521644_634899529_n_zps0e1642qk.jpg

  5. :)

In this week i would really like to be a bass-only player (hmmm maybe i should be for that week - if only the guitar track wouldnt be so good too), very cool tracks from beg - mc (even those guys get what they deserve)

And we hope @@NoonyDeloony enjoys her lil gift. :tropical_drink: :tropical_drink: :tropical_drink:

Amazing... Considering the number of plays I have on that track, I have never done a video for it :D... Will have to see if I can still play it in Master Mode :D it's been a while. Cheers folks for the Birthday wishes. I'm having a lovely day :D x

  6. @@Fraggle Baggle, don't stretch! You can microshift your hand placement so instead of contorting your pinky to extremes a little shift of the hand will relive that pain pretty quickly. I have freakishly large hands but occasionally I did have pinky trouble when playing tracks like "full steam space machine" , "danger danger! (High voltage)" and "two door cinema club's, what you know". My pinky still flicks out from time to time from over stretching but when I do practice those three tracks microshifting the fret hand is a lot more energy efficient. Give those songs a try at about 75% speed while you get used to moving your fret hand between the frets on the repetitive notes. :) hope it helps a bit.

  7. Stiff as a stick but meh... still suffering with chest infection and gammy hand here so it's not a bad attempt.

DT was horrible to play and I sucked badly at it. Not playing it again until I turn into John Myung. I still <3 DT though.

AC/DC: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=770655538 I likes them all.. Not got round to playing DT but it's on the cards if my wrist is ok after the 1000 restarts I did with Riverboat song :) I doubt it'll be much of a decent entry though... watching the play through looked like you need spaghetti fingers to play it

  9. I'm ill. Just in time for my sons birthday on Tuesday too :( My son's ill too both of us with a nasty chest infection and exhausted so, no more scores at all. Haven't had the strength to play Tool for 11 minutes, it's just too much in my current state and my tendonitis has flared up again too ... told you I'd moan :) See you next week, if I am well enough tomorrow I am going out for pre birthday drinks with my bestie (albeit a week early for my birthday but hey, I don't care when my birthday is) so  I don't think I will be back to playing until Monday as I'll be working Sunday... I'll have a wee dram for @@fraMTK too :) and one for @@kissa's Bachelordom .. brain kudos, Kissa. :)

    Taraa for now :)

  10. Right. Not a brilliant attempt not by any stretch of the imagination but, a year ago I red X'd this after the 2nd phrase. I know I said I would not play this because of the length of the track but I fecking do love Tool and I am now hooked so I shall try take this one and love it and hug it and feed and take it for walks... I promise... but chances are, I will aggravate my wrist and I will moan... a lot... again. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=767229395

  12. MC first attempt and possibly last attempt: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=763714523

I'm not keen on the track though I do like the singers voice. I'm a bit drunk, not leathered or nowt, just squiffy as I attended my partners Nan's funeral today so we gave her a nice send off afterwards in the pub with some G&T's. I'll be back next week in proper full force as Cricket season will be well and truly over at the club which means my shifts deplete, as does the affordability to buy things like alcohol in pubs at pub prices so a lot of staying in and practicing will commence until April next year :) (Give or take a few wedding/birthday/anniversary functions... book now! *sly advert for my club :D*.)

It's been an emotional but great day seeing off a very lovely lady :) So big cheers to Big Nan :) (She was a closet LFC supporter so she would have really liked the Advanced bass song choice this week :) .) Cheers guys , see yous next week.

  14. @@Gamut I don't mind the dislikes I just wish people would post why. I can then filter out if it's because they just don't like the song or they just don't think I did the track justice, due to my crippled hand in this case. (They sure didn't sympathise with my gammy wrist... I bet they park in wheel chair access parking spaces) :D I want constructive criticism about my playing so I can improve... If it's some bull shit reason that's nothing to do with my playing then , to quote Billy Connolly, they can "Gettifuh!" :D

Not sure if that's one from the video but it seems I took it quite recent so I think it is :)

Will try the others now :) ... is there a Bass MC song picked yet? xxx  cheers @Fripples.

  15. ooo ... excuse the typo in the title of the video. 5 noony points if you spot it. Someone did spotted it and disliked my video (the cheek) either that or they disliked my performance/hair/lack of stage presence/cleavage/some other bollockstuff :) I will play the others later off for a run and work now :) autumn is here! Yay!

  16. Bass Category Advintmasginner: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=759545326 I know this song very well... never played it before though (although I have an old version of the chart which I've apparently played once and I don't recall playing it so I'm guessing I tried it and quit after the first few bars if the version wasn't working very well... so I'm not counting that try :) )

Some really fun parts to play in this hence my new categorisation "Advintmasginner". I suspect a pick is generally used but I'm shit with a plectrum. Glad my fingers pads resemble the hardy corduroy of a geography teachers elbow patch.
