i had noticed the build number was off but i wasn't sure if that was coming from mono or a dependency. since you pointed out that the 4.2.0 build WAS the mono version, i completely removed mono, reinstalled & adjusted the symlinks then tried to execute again via terminal & my macbook air with sierra is now running better than my mac pro with el capitan!
i'm also using the 2.7 customs toolkit which may be playing with mono better than previous builds
