RS might not recognize perfectly yeah but at worst there's a status to make the note appear but not count in the final score (don't remember the name but i think it exist) which would allow to bypass the recognition and indicate the "correct" thing.

But it would be easy enough to just have the taps also be pre-bent a step, right? Though it's probably really slightly less than a step, that would be good enough to get it into the right range where Rocksmith would recognize it.

You crazy bastid. It worked! :D :D :D

Thanks again everybody! I might have thought of it eventually, but it would've taken A LOT longer.

  2. It appears to have worked! Sorry for the shitty video quality:

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x37kaqt_crazy-bend-tap_videogames

I haven't actually gotten to play it yet, but I'm guessing it should work fine. I'll check into that ignore status if it won't register right.

    Thanks a bunch all!

BTW, the song's called Shi no Hai (Ashes of Death) by L'Arc~en~Ciel. I should have the custom up soon. Their guitarist does some crazy weird stuff (in general) on a lot of their songs.

Edit: It works great, but of course it always considered the 12th fret notes missed, cos of course it sounds like the 14th fret to the game. I will have to try the pre-bent taps. I missed that suggestion before, and it's a hilariously awesome.

  3. I actually just experienced the problem above with the audio becoming out of tune but only because of the notes passed the in-game fretboard causing it to crash for me, so yeah make sure that all notes work out and here's the tab, just download it below on UG: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/l/larc_en_ciel/stay_away_ver5_guitar_pro.htm

That songsterr tab was garbage compared to this. Thanks for finding it for me! :)

  4. Watching the video it seems the audio does start before the chart appears, I had an error a while back with this and I believe I had to re-encode the 'leading silence' since it bugged out to where the silence become a part of the song. I'll look more into it in a bit. I had just put in what should be the exact same guitar.ogg file you have on your EoF and this is what came up: http://prntscr.com/8h3ndj

Earlier I had asked if you messed with the beat markers, this is what I see on my end is why: http://prntscr.com/8h3phw

Either the DDC is the cause of the problem or an error had occured with the leading silence/tempo in EoF as seen above

If you want I also have a download to all guitar and bass parts for STAY AWAY by Larc en Ciel

    http://i.imgur.com/pAt7vbf.jpg

This was the error I got . I would love a different tab if you have one. Just one guitar track seems fishy, knowing Ken.

The only L'arc tabs I have come from songsterr, and the other day I had a new experience....they didn't have the song I wanted! LOL (It was Taste of Love). Do you like L'Arc?

I wonder if the problem had to do with me not going through with the import when I got the warning, and then trying it again later....wondering if it offset it with the first attempted import, and then again when I actually did import it?

  5. Okay so I've seen the notes in EoF and can say its probable cause is the constant bpm changes since they were all dragged at one point. Only reason I would say it would do that in game (happened with another tab when i reloaded it in EoF) Find the right bpm and Shift+Left Click from the start to end for a selection of notes then you would just hold down left click to drag them to a point instead of messing with the beat map as it changes constantly in the beggining from 120 bpm to 155.

I don't remember clicking and dragging anything or messing with the beat not the only thing I can remember is that I got a warning message that said that the audio starts before the chart (of vice versa) and it asked me if I wanted to proceed and I said yes but I'll check all the suggestions later and let you know what happens (voice typing)

  6. If I'm looking at the correct tabs for this song, it seems like its not beat at all (155 bpm) and there are tons of BPM changes throughout the song throwing it off course. Mind if I see the tabs?

    http://www.songsterr.com/a/wa/search?pattern=larc&r=tabType&lyrics=any&tuning=any&inst=gtr&diff=any&sort=p&vocals=any&tabType=player

It's on this page but I can't get to the exact link cos of the stupid mobile app screen diverting me

on my phone. I think the bpm stays pretty consistent though. When I play it back with the claps on in EOF the notes are synced.

  7. Video below:

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x370yvj_chart-gone-wrong_videogames

(I recommend using firefox with adblock plus)

This chart was synced in GPA and plays fine in EOF, but in the game the chart runs 2 or 3 seconds behinds the audio and crashes the game at the end.

Last time I played it, the whole note highway was flashing and notes were randomly disappearing. I've done like 35 cdlcs and never had something like this happen.

    Here's the psarc:

    Thoughts?

What do you mean? 32 bit Windows programs run perfectly fine in 64 bit Windows.

Of course. I was tired (and a little stupid) after a long week. I actually did know that, since I play ancient stuff like Crimson Skies, 4x4 Evo, and Freespace on my computer all the time.

Now that I've made an idiot of myself and drawn the attention of some very big Rsmith brains, so it's not such a waste, do one of you know where I can find a thread that addresses the EoF error I happen to be getting at the moment?

    http://i.imgur.com/pAt7vbf.jpg

(naturally I am surprised by this...I've used GPA A LOT.

I've gotten it on the last 2 songs I've tried to synch, and when I tried to proceed the first time around, the resulting CDLC crashed Rocksmith.

    -------------

Incidentally, I am having an issue with BPR. When I tried to install it, it said the directory wasn't valid and asked me to choose the directory, so I did, and it's still not showing in the toolkit.

  9. Hey thanks a bunch! I'll give that a try later. I forget sometimes that back when I made that file I didn't know wtf I was doing.

a couple questions.... Were the notes still synched ok after you resnapped them and played the file? Also, which is right, marker on the 4th measure or on the 5th (and so on...)? Lastly what is that program?

Oh also, would the notes issue explain the disappearing chord at 4:20 or did I goof and just not find it yet?

  10. I'm having a problem with DD on one of my files. First off, I don't use it. I turn the difficulty all the way up in riff repeater and then play. For testing purposes, I continue to use the DD version, or if my wife or someone wants to play one of my songs with DD. Just FYI

It appears to lower certain parts all the way down, which I've never see it do before. I've also been doing my phrases/sections differently, because before I was doing it every 4, as in 1,2,3,4 and I'd put the next marker on 4. I recently decided that I'd been doing it wrong all along and that it should be on 5 (and so on), not 4. Is this correct? If so, most of my songs are every 3 measures, if my math is right, so that could be why I'm suddenly seeing DD doing "weird" (aka normal but I didn't know any better before) things.

I should also point out that I name all my phrases/sections "Intro" because I'm too lazy to decide what each area of the song should be called.

ALSO........and I could be on crack, I think DD is hiding entire chords, because this song, about 3 quarters of the way through, the chords go off time with the music, which I think is because it's actually hiding the chord change and showing a repeat as if it was the initial chord in that change.........but again, I could be crazy, but I'd searched EOF and can't find any mistakes. It happens at 4:20 in the video. At the end, you can see the empty black bars w/ no orange in them.

Here's the video so you can see:

    http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/blurry-eyes-r2299

(it's embedded in the custom page, which is good because dailymotion's ads are really obnoxious)

I can provide the project file or the whole folder if it would help. It's a bummer that I can't to the end of the song without it freaking out. It didn't used to lower the difficulty until the next play. You'd see it after you finished the song, but it never hid notes while you were playing.

I've noticed the bar dropping down to zero on at least one other song.

    Thanks!

  11. I'm working on a song with basically 2 tones that alternate (plus 1 for the solo) and for some reason, I just can't get a tone to stick to this one particular measure, even though the same tone works everywhere else.

I've deleted and re-added it a bunch of times, and even tried deleting it and placing it 1 note before the measure, so it's in a different position, but RS just continues to ignore that particular tone change, while all the other changes (before and after) work fine.

Here's the file if someone could take a look please. The song's basically ready for upload otherwise:

    https://mega.nz/#!NptxkJSJ!RLNlQbG2qGzWIULLy-H4SDdEgL4VKnUnYh3v3mHJN60

The problem is on measure 79, and the tone name is "overdrive".

    Thanks! :D

  12. Well, the solution was pretty simple -- I forgot to point the toolkit to the proper file. Duh.

I've clearly had this problem before, cos when I just searched for this issue, I found that I had already liked your post. It was (once again) the solution to my problem. I had added VOCALS.xml in the toolkit, rather than VOCALS_RS2.xml.

Let's hope I don't have to search for it a 3rd time. I'm going to have to write myself a FAQ of questions frequently asked my me. LOL

    Thanks! (again)

  13. EOF is working as expected. The track you're using has a default fret limit of 17 (this is a Rock Band 3 compatibility setting) so if you set a fret number higher than that, EOF has to alter it. I was thinking about adding a prompt asking the user whether to raise the fret limit if this happens.

That would be cool if you did. It did completely stop my work for a night ;)

    Thanks again for the help!

  14. SHIFT+X (toggle string mute) can do that.  If you press either F or N when an affected note is selected and all of the mute checkboxes are checked, then that's probably what happened.  Selecting the affected notes and using SHIFT+X again is probably the best way to correct it, otherwise if you try to use the dialogs that come up when pressing F or N, it also applies fret numbering and can destroy your chord changes.

I can try that when I get home, but just so you know, I'm only doing single notes, and I deleted them and when I put a note back down, the moment I change the fret number it automatically mutes it. also, I can't remember if this is normal or not, but instead of saying Lane #1 it says Legacy.
