  1. EOF doesn't have a find/replace function. The closest you could get would be something like this:1. Go into File>Preferences and enable the "Erase overlapped pasted notes" option.2. Find the first instance of the pattern and edit it to the way you want the others to be. Copy those notes to the clipboard.3. Find the last instance of the pattern you want to change, select the notes and add the selection as a fret catalog entry (Song>Catalog>Add).4. Seek to the beginning of the chart.5. Use "Song>Catalog>Find next" (press F3) and EOF will seek to the next instance of that pattern of notes.6. Paste from the clipboard (CTRL+V). The preference that was enabled in step 1 will cause the notes to be replaced with those from the clipboard.7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the end of the track is reached.

Thanks! This is exactly the kind of solution I was looking for! Much appreciated! Let's see how it goes! :D

  2. I have a guitar part that repeats like a zillion times that's wrong. Is there any way to do a "find and replace" on a phrase (or a single note if necessary) in EoF?

I tried to do a "select like" hoping that would do it, but I'm really not sure what that does. lol

I would do it in GP, but I really don't have enough music reading knowledge to edit the timing of notes (dots and rests and whatnot, lol)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  3. I imported the bass track and listened to it, it sounded pretty in sync to me, at least from around measure 5 onward. The way this was synced in Go PlayAlong makes things trickier, you probably noticed EOF mention the timing of some of the beats being before the beginning of the audio. It may be easiest to just correct the first few measures' worth of bass notes. Or if you adjust the Go PlayAlong sync so that the first measure has its position set manually, it probably would avoid any issues.

So if I go in and set some markers for the first few measures it should be ok? I guess that figures, since I synced with the guitar part, which doesn't come in til a bit later.....I would've never thought of that!

    Thanks! :D

Edit, if I import the bass part newly synced with the existing project file using the guitar from the old one, is that going to cause some kind of measure/bpm conflict?

Edit 2: btw I didn't get any sort of warning about beats/audio (yet), just the bass started really late.

  4. So, I marked the spots on the music, clean and distortion in EoF. When I add the tones to the 4 slot drop and generate the package, it stays as the default 'base' tone. I dunno what to do now.

Did you click edit on the tones and name them in the top left hand corner to match the name in the EoF? Tones with spaces need underscores between the words.

If the "Default" placeholder tone is still showing in the toolkit, you can delete it.

  5. i dont know it , to be honest xD i only did it once after i see u ask for it. and i put it up to 160 and rs didnt crash so its all a game of trying it out as long as it fit or rs crash.

I would think 160 should be high enough, so I'll give that a try! Thanks again! This was the one thing my Computer Blue custom really needed to make me happy. I'll put up the updated version soon. :D

Edit: Still if anyone else knows, that would be useful info.

  6. Thanks man! This has just the crinkle fry look I was going for!

Do you know the max number you can set it to, if it's higher than 120?

It's too bad I'll have to hand edit the xml every time I update it, but I'm just happy I can do it at all.

    Thanks again! :D

  7. So you edit the real guitar xml file after you're done in EoF? That makes for very little risk, since the original project file would be untouched. Am I getting it right?

Also, what would be the highest allowed vibrato? Like I mentioned in the chat, I want it to be like "shake the shit out of this note like you're a bad babysitter"

Also, how do you find the right notes to edit? I'm still a noob in many ways.

  8. I'm trying to make a note that sustains then bends a couple seconds in.

I've added a Tech Note halfway through the sustain, and managed to edit it with N to make it a 2 half step bend, so it shows in green in the little black box on the sustain tail.

The original note shows a red bend mark with an asterisk, but there's no bend mark under the tech note. In the game it just shows like a normal bend.

Can anyone help me figure out how to finalize the note so it shows in game?

Unrelated question, can anyone explain why bends in the game jump up at the beginning of the note, with 2 arrows facing downward, then seem to slowly release throughout the note? It makes everything look like a pre-bend to me...

  9. Yeah, it's really rewarding to have it actually doing something.

When I first started, I couldn't get anywhere and it just frustrated me to the point of turning it off in a mood.

I'm still have little niggling problems, of course, but that's gonna happen. Just need to have a bit of patience and take time with it.

I'm off work next week. By then I should be confident enough with this whole process that I can think about making and releasing stuff, with any luck, anyway.

Well I made a massive thread of niggling problems in the Help section, and they all got solved, so feel free to hold forth with your issues! ;)

  10.

As a charter, I'm pretty sure you know what I mean. But for anyone who doesn't...... in order to increase the track (or preview) volume, you must bump the db value up closer to 0. For the tones, it's the opposite. You'll need to decrease the value, away from "0", farther into the negative numbers.

    I know! It's so confusing! Hahahahahahaha.....but I'll survive. ;)

This is the song I was working on when I was asking about that:

    http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/prince-computer-blue-r3537

I have to wait in suspense til I get home to find out if I did the volumes backwards (I was too sleepy to do anything other than start it up and check for ampswall) . Would anybody like to try it out and tell me? hahahaha

  11. @@Billkwando What does that look like in Rocksmith (no bars/measures in the leading silence)? Is it just blank until the notes begin?

One argument for adding the bars and measures is that it allows the metronome count-in. But since that's pretty buggy (it only seems to work on the first run-through of a song, after that it stops), I suppose it isn't a big deal.

It just looks normal. In EoF, of course, it looks like a long black box before the first measure. ;)

Here's video of one of mine that was done that way, with GPA. Man I love this song.

    http://customsforge.com/videos/view-191-maximum-the-hormone-kuso-breakin-nou-breakin-lily-rs2014-custom-bass/

(I just made the custom, not the video)

  12. Personally, I don't add leading silence to my customs until I'm almost done now, rather than messing with the audio file. I just add the silence and then ignore all the warnings about midi and inserting empty measures, and just leave the leading silence completely blank. That way, my measures stay where I put them. It's never been a problem for me in RS2014. I couldn't speak for RS1.

For your timing issues, I still can't help but think something went wrong while you were synching it. Again, do you have the metronome on? Also, are you placing your GPA markers at the peaks of the waveform? I don't know if that's right, but I found that's what works best for me....just sticking it right there in the middle.

    <|>

(that's my waveform spike with the marker in the middle, lol)

I tried it again, and this time it just sat at the note highway...tried it again and it done the same thing [ :P] So frustrating.

Did you try going back into EoF and resaving the file? I don't know if I've ever had it freak out once I got past the amps & wall.

  13. Thanks again guys.

I done the process again and got the song working...kinda.

The song started about 20 seconds further than where it should have and then proceeded to crash after about 30 seconds of playtime.

Not quite sure what happened, but it could have been something I done during the EoF process, it was pretty rushed as I didn't have much time before work.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll take a bit more time and get it to work properly

It sounds like you might tried to import it on top of an existing project, It's usually best to move your tones elsewhere and wipe out the whole folder. If that wasn't it then there's definitely more to look into.
