It is updated every week as you can see there is last used week 619! So you can well read each active players XP as well as the avg ladt 6 months and her/his Level up to 2022. Whats missing is the avg calculation for the years 2023 and 2024 which is quite some work for me and on the list of course. Whenever i find a little time i'll be on it... so nice and clear to see players progress.

Rod

Any chance you can explain how the xp is rated/works or even add it in a table /cell next to it? I have never really understood it. The times ive checked the page it seems to be that there are players either really low on the table that are way more consistant/ get better results in the weeks with high scores such as razrshred or shaggy etc. Or the opposite happens, where players only play single digits and are at the top like swerk that has only participated like twice.

I mostly play more extreme or technical metal like Inferi and Necrophagist, but also less heavy stuff like Dream Theater.

I have submitted a couple songs but the more i play now of the songs that are selected, i question if the difficulty i set is accurate 😅

ooh interesting i havent heard inferi nor nevrophagist yet! ill give them a shot.

Yea i've hosted some weeks with dreamtheater but I try my best to avoid using the same bands incase theres people who dont like them. Like i remember metallica being hosted acouple weeks in a row and i dreaded those weeks. Although as I am typing that i guess there will always be songs that people dont enjoy regardless of the band and maybe by picking the same band they might appreciate a band they thought they didnt like.🤷‍♂️

Ok cool thanks!  i'll also check the sheet to look for the ones you have submitted. Don't worry about the difficulties too much just try to give an aprox to what you think itll do best in. @ Mikson  tends to think i have them too low hehe. If they are, it can always be changed anyways.

Uploading a little bit earlier this week as I might miss the deadline on Saturday, bit pushed for time as well so no suggestions I'm afraid which is a shame as I love The Offspring, we'll just have to get another song from them soon!

Had a great time with this one, had heard of them but never actually listened to them before, will have to give them a proper listen. Did have a few goes on this in Learn A Song before Score Attack, no chance I could sight-read this one...

All the best with your scores everyone!

This one was a doozy for me, walking basslines are 100% the thing i need to work on the most!

Hello everybody,

This week songs drived me nuts even though I really liked them, mostly because of wrong note recognation and misses. Drop Tuning on my garbage guitar really sucks. Well, here are my best results.

fan fact: "Why don't you get a job" is really popular in Greece even to non rock/metal/punk fans because the ultras of a football team had created a chant from the rythm

I even tried the riffs on riff repeater on this one, still got misses that I was actually playing correctimage.thumb.jpeg.fdda014019efa371af7bec7dc163e9bd.jpeg

Also tried the advanced song of this week. I have to admit that was toughimage.thumb.jpeg.e9469e6e242dc4c7f17468532a4a1f5f.jpeg

Unfortunately, apart from me and sometimes Rodman, no one gives their ratings, so it's difficult to create a larger sample.

I've mentioned this in general before, but bass path have always been rated higher than guitar paths (since I started playing in the championships), due to the generally lower complexity of bass charts. This means there are many more such charts at beginner and intermediate levels than at higher levels, especially in more popular music genres. This, along with the fact that a similar chart is slightly more difficult to play on bass than on guitar (in my opinion), especially when it's fast, causes me to rate this chart higher for bass. This is the case with the song "10 Years," where I would rate the bass higher, as it's certainly more difficult compared to other bass charts rated 4 in the past.

In short, I think that each path, lead, rhythm and bass should be rated separately in comparison to a larger sample of past ratings, which means that a similar chart for different paths may slightly differ in rating (but not by much, of course).

Rhythm is merciless, one wrong chord grip causes a series of misses and loss of score, I doubt I would achieve 90% here.

I didn't know this band, but I listened to the album with this song, and it's cool. What surprised me the most was that there are over 200 CLDCs in the database with songs by this band, it's a really popular band here!

Hi. Have a nice weekend!

Thanks for choosing DGD song!

Their guitar is very difficult, but very fun to play.

Well.. "no one" apart from you and Rodman is a bit of an exageration 😅, people do leave their ratings just not all the time cause they forget/time/ its usually not stated to do so. Unless you mean the charts that still havent been picked.

At the moment, Bass category is the one with the highest percentage of people in higher classes (aka Advanced and Masterclass) with it being 68% of the people are in those classes (total of everyone whos ever played recorded).  Rhythm its 52% and lead is around 50%.

I think the ideal % should be around 50% cause that means youve got enough people in all classes/ makes it more competitive/balanced for everyone (aka 25% in each class). I also know for a fact that most people do level up bass more often than other categories as well. Hence why You, Rodman and I are all in masterclass instead of advanced ( although looking at the table seems like you demoted yourself at some point?) . Anyways, this to me means we tend to overate bass.

Yes, bass charts have lower complexity in certain genres but thats why Bass only charts  were introduced (i think its been like 3 years?) to avoid it being "too easy" so imo this shouldnt be an issue.

As of the bass being slightly more difficult to guitar when playing the same riff i personally think it should always remain atleast in the same class (aka advance rhythm -advanced bass etc) and the plus 1 that you guys tend to do, and which i have in the past aswell,  may be the reaason why theres more people in the higher classes of bass. Especially since we accept scores from emulated bass they should be in the same class as they will essentially be playing the same song twice and yet with the +1 potentially be competing in other classes for no logical reason imo.

If the bass is just mimicing the rhythm path (or lead) and its just doing single notes and not chords then I honestly think: if you can do it on guitar you can do it on bass. Wear gloves, tape or something if you feel that the strings are too thick or just bite the nail and play it. Playthroughs using a pedal/ the default one of rocksmith are valid so I personally dont understand the need to add the +1.  if you are playing bass you should be used to thick strings.

Guitars/Bass are not all the same length/ fret size and then not everyone might be using same string size either. So to give a +1 is kinda redundant/ not justifiable imo. Thats kinda like saying we should give +1 to all the detuned songs, which shouldnt be the case either cause you can put a detune pedal to avoid thicker strings/ wouldnt be harder and some bands do that anyways. (i know not everyone has a detune pedal, although i strongly suggest one, else just use reaper which is free to detune)

also maybe its just me? but i do think bass detection is way more forgiving than guitar which also makes it "easier" if we are just going by %

which is why i rate accordingly cause thats my opinion but im always happy to balance things if needed.

I agree in theory we should use the past weeks as a base to go off (and i think i usually do) and it would be better if everyone leaves their input of song ratings. But i really do think we should make bass harder than it has been just to make it more challenging/fun. Personally not a fan of weeks where you play your class song once and almost 100% the song. Not saying that all masterclasses songs should be 8min+ either like this week xD cause im also not a fan of long songs, my mind wanders too much but i do believe it should be more balanced.
