Again played this recently 96% then so all good

Hey @ jasmith85  looks like this is your first bass post of the the year ?! The system is telling me you are not yet assigned in bass. I remember you used to participate under another name but dont remember it and not sure if you played bass in it 🤔 
Do you want to be intermediate bass since you are intermediate in both lead and rhythm
or do you wish to start from the bottom and climb up since you only posted the beginner song?

Bit pushed for time so will just post my scores but was a fun mix this week!

Yes, I got to use the 5th string!

I think this is harder than 5.5, I had lots of trouble with the fast string switching.

Noticed the first score wasn't picked up by the app.

By the way, Aldious reminded me of LOVEBITES, who also have some fun CLDCs available.

It got me in the mood for playing fast with little string switching, so I tried some old Blind Guardian, but my right hand nearly fell off 😅

I just now read @ Mikson  message/ warning on his score post about him not being here for the new week so i guess i should pay more attention next time to scores text and also be prepared to make a week.

Anyways:

Heres the changes i made

Bass:

John murphy in the house - lowered from 3 to 2.5
Seemed like lots of people were able to get 100% so it seems logical to lower it 

lenny- supergrass  5.5 to 6 
only 2 people said it needed to be higher and only mikson said a number 6.5.
so 5.5 (my score)+6+6.5= 18 averages to 6 .
I even tried giving 6.9 since mikson said its almost a 7 and that averages to 6.13? 

I think i might try medians or modes though in the future since it seems like its hard for it to go up with averages and cause with averages itll give us random decimals.
but regardless theres only 3 suggestions so it would still be 6 😆

 i think thats fine cause in the past we've given a same ish guitar riff on bass +1 (although im still not a fan of that) and since we rated 5 for the guitar then its ok?


trinkets and things- ryo kawasaki 7.5 to 8

so this one actually wouldve stayed at 7.5 with averages. I used chat gpt lol to see other options and it suggested mean and mode as other ways to balance it.

so i did the mean
7 (mystic) 7.5( me) 8 hype 8 mikson.
theres no middle number so you add the  7.5+8 = 15.5 /2 = 7.75 so it rounds to 8
and mode would be 8 as well


it was a long song so i can see it being higher than a 7.5 although lots of people did get quite high scores and so did i which is why i rated 7.5 in the begining.

Realistically speaking though, i dont think theres gonna be people tabing +7 mins jazz songs (and well made) each week so itll be easier to fill in masterclass and we can use really hard ones (havent found ones yet) for gog.

I do think bass is usually on the easy side of the championship and do wish itd be harder than it is currently since im not a great bass player  (i know theres waay more talented people on this site) and i get high 90s when id rather get low 90s or even lower since its supposed to be a challenge. Thankfully, we have a new competitor that likes hard bass songs so you never know 🙂 .

I also think if @ Rodman  had played the bass he would've rated the basses a bit higher so thats why i think modes or medians is probably the right choice and that way someone wont have to rate something extremely low or high for it to "average out" to the number they think is right.

hopefully more people are vocal if they are ok with the ratings so that way i can include them aswell in the calculations in the future.

anyways if anyone has any other idea or wants to discuss let me know 🙂 a bit nerdy but i do hope its for the best as i want more people to participate and not feel overwhelmed/ discouraged/ stop playing. the championship will always be more entertaining with more people imo.
