Hey man, you caught me in a bad moment... I apologize for the unacceptable and intolerable mistake of getting a rating wrong...

This was one of the first songs I added when I was just getting started... and in "Da Rules" it said (it still says) :

>Bass: Beg 1-4, Int 5-6, Adv 7-8, Mc 8-9, Gog 10 (updated May 2021)

So I was confused for a while until someone told me this doesn't apply anymore. 

By the way, I always have doubts rating songs, so I proposed in the past creating a thread to discuss ratings when you add a song to the SSL, but didn't get much support...

If I get ratings so wrong, I guess I shouldn't be hosting weeks anymore... I am not here to get scolded.   

 

At first I wasn't happy about having to find the capo at the bottom of the desk drawer, but after a few attempts I finally learned to put it on without any of the strings buzzing too badly.   Always happy for the opportunity to learn something new. Now I'm looking forward to more capo songs - but not too many...

I personally have enjoyed testing/playing your suggestions, your weeks as a host and your enthusiasm is contagious when participating 🤘😛🤘

I think the most important thing is we get to play different varied songs (one probably wouldnt play) and have something to do everyweek! and we wouldnt be able to do that without suggestions and without hosts... so thanks everybody!  

the ratings will always be a bit subjective since we all go on different paths when learning an instrument. . . so we might not all agree everytime but i dont think it should be the main focus or something you or anyone on here should feel "accountable for".

it is a nice way to balance things/ give people a challenge that may be do able to their skills ( so really the important feedback/ number is probably from people in that class/their scores that week) If they think it should be different discusion -> change difficulty (since i havent really been a host yet cause i havent done any of the spreadsheet  im not sure if its harder than this 😄 but eeh..)

I feel a bit responsible cause i also commented earlier this week it was a bit on the easy side 😛 (and in general i sometimes do 😅) but i didnt mean it as an attack? and i never do/ have or will and i dont think anyone who disagrees with a rating does either... Its just an opinion... sometimes they are more elaborated than others but doesnt mean they are right or not.

The thread that you mentioned sounds good to me.
since im kinda new to it i think maybe thats what the tested section is for? but i am not entirely sure...hopefully someone can correct me.

Theres been a couple of songs i have suggested that could probably use with a switch in number since i mightve been a bit generous , forgiving or not harsh enough..sometimes it just depends on your mood or what you played earlier that day aswell. and i think that happens with everyone.

Your weeks have been great and one of the reasons why i wanted to join. I hope you do more, don't take anything personal, have fun! Obsticles are nothing but learning points 🙂 you got this!!

Just wanted to thank you for hosting this week and everyone before for keeping the championship going. 

I always think that whenever the rating doesn't feel right it must be something on my side (old bass, too much speed, some slides, Rocskmith recognition, my hand hurts 😅 )

And even my perception of difficulty is changing thanks to trying different musics, genres, techniques, so rating is a hard subjective problem (at least to me).

Yes, Rodman knows - ..... and they didn´t - didn´t know they are doing CDLCs. But they asked me once to do a CDLC for them, which i did ... well i shall be asking them right now if they ain´t joining the Champs, yay.

It´s ChatGPT now - Chatty is ultra confident reading pictures and extracting data, even bad ones. @ avastreg  is to get all the credit for the incredible App he created for that - started with something like OpenCV, switched to a payed OCR service that was better and migrated to GPTa while ago. We are constantly improving all that, next is to learn the App to correctly sort multiplayer scores.

I´m a bit bassless these days 1000km away from home with only my lovely Squier Mini Strat. Still love that so much. ... I should go on vacation more often so it get´s used 😉
I have tested all the paths and my notes state (5-6) for GD and (6-7) for Z7 - i decided to go with (5) to have it inside the INT (i like it when things are...less confusing let´s say) and there was something in the Z7 chart that made me decide - you nail that 99.5 - you deserve MC - scores prove me wrong. So we go 5.5 and 6.

Some improvement. I can't even "walk" in advanced lead Metallica with a clean sound: that riff still is very hard to me to play. This week, only adv rithm.

Stop it! There is no doing wrong in diff ratings!!!! To a point diff ratings are always some kind of subjective and more importantly NOT VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE COMPETITION!!!!!! because it´s absolutely ok to get harder or easier songs from time to time - and it´s the same for everyone!

YOU ARE DOING GREAT AND WE WON´T LET YOU BAIL!!! Thx for your work. All is great.

Discussions about diff ratings are never a personal offence but help to optimize the CS and CF world for everyone. Comments are a bit harsh from time to time - but most here are not native english speaking - that explains most of it. However we shall avoid using terms like WRONG or FALSE cause.... it´s offensive and truely speaking a rating +-1 is not wrong.

THANKS TO ANYONE PUTTING SONGS INTO SSL and furthermore THANKS TO ANYONE RATING PATHs IN SSL - you keep the CS going!!!!

To improve the situation. There is something that has to be done for long time. C´mon let´s get it on and create a Compendium about the most possible objective diff rating criteria - you´ll see it´s straight forward - i´ll start a thread about that (update: did that) and please everyone, esp. @ Mikson  who is a prof. rater by now add your thoughts and add corrections with comments.

I am in contact and nagging to implement diff ratings into Ignition for quite some time. I wont stop. That will help.

I'm sorry that you perceived my post as an attack on you and your ratings. I just wanted to express surprise that you rated this chart so high, because you are a good bass player and so far, from what I remember, you rated bass paths correctly. The fact that this was your first song suggestion for the championship and you used a different rating scale explains the situation. 👍
