Let us know your opinions on the accuracy of the difficulty scores (1-10) for this weeks songs.

 

Notes:

• It's really becoming difficult to find beginner-level guitar CDLC so I'd really appreciate participants adding recommendations to the Song Selection List! Sorry if Black Star is a bit difficult for beginner level
   
• I tried to test Summer Breeze on lead and rhythm but since I'm a bass only player I'm not the best at rating difficulty on those. Please provide feedback if warranted. 
   
• Parents is not really GoB level of difficulty but I rated it a 7.5 and it's over 10 minutes long so IMO a good candidate for a multi-week GoB type thing

Sorry for completely missing last week, had a lot of work to do! 

I remember when I first heard this song when it came out, I liked it but it wasn't mindblowing. It is fun to play tho! I have to say that this one feels more like an advanced song rather than masterclass, at least in my opinion 

For me, a great, energetic song, reminiscent the times of Appetite for Destruction album. Fun to play on guitar and bass!

Some notes.

The Advanced Rhythm class was won by @diceslinger, he achieved over 97%. I noticed there is a sort error in the leader sheet, you have to sort manually @Rodman

This week I propose to make some minor changes to the lead path song selection.

Opeth - Bridge of Sighs is an advanced class song (I agree with the 6 difficulty rating) and it is D-std, not E-std. So I suggest you move it to Advanced Class and add Psychedelic Porn Crumpets song as a bonus. The song is nice, but in the chart is a lot full bends using 2 strings and for me (I don't know about the others) RS registers these notes very badly, which lowers the final score a lot. The song Seals and Crofts - Summer Breeze is much more suited to the intermediate class than the Opeth song and it's a nice song and a good CDLC so it's a shame to "waste" it as a bonus. I rate Summer Breeze (5) for Lead and Rhythm.

@Rodman @kayteck The script that pulls winners from the leaderboard sheet seems to have some issues...some of the winners were correct but others were not.

@jellisjenius i have tested and haven't found any issues, so no clue what may have happened. maybe sorting issue had an impact as scores have to be sorted for this to work correctly.

I prefer this to the other ppc we played last time, quite nice


Haven't listened to GnR in years, it's fine I guess.


Dodgy slide at the end, you can miss each slide note individually since it's done wrong.

Script works perfectly, sorting has to be done, if the order doesn´t fit the pulled winners are wrong of course...and autosorting works only on the latest week... but not a problem no more.. @kayteck will implement final sorting before winners are pulled!!!

From testing:

A good song for beginners to practice slides and hammer-ons as you get a nice slow slide to hammer on that sounds good when you play it and repeats:

Not a huge fan of this one as Muse basslines/charts go...playing a repeated octave as open low D to open high D is meh and I kinda doubt Chris Wolstenholme plays it that way.

I think PPC are my favorites right now in the category of "a bit above my level but still enjoyable to play/learn":

Some Lead:

Difficult for beginners, and for me RS does not recognize most of the harmonic notes here.

Nice song, I played this all without a pause so I don't know why RS lowered mastery.

I've played this before but I haven't found the screen. Played again and I even think it's more than 6 (6.5-7). Of course an advanced class song.

Most misses on parts with full bends in 2 strings.

Screen from the past. It's definitely overwhelmed me.

Rhythm:

There is no rhythm path. I suppose it's an alternate lead so I played it. Pretty hard playable.
