slightly better rhythm

I'm participating for the first time. I'm a bit late for this week so I just gave a try to the beginners song (It's clearly my level).

I'm back... had another go with the bass intermediate song. And I cheated! I cheated all I could. I rewrote the tab to use more strings (and less wanking the bass). I even changed the tuning to drop Eb (instead of drop D, since there was no D's anyway). And then i practiced (I know that is also a kind of cheating 😉 ). I got a little better...

And after a few runs, I tried just for the fun of it, to play as intended. So no cheating, just to see how much better my cheating version was... Drop D and all notes on the same string... and behold. My best performance ever:

So maybe it had to do with something else. Cheating did not help me, apart from analyzing and understanding the music (I guess). I don't think I can do this song any better soon.

For the guitar effect I think it is the Ping Pong delay pedal that gives it that rotary sound, but I'm still learning all the setting on the pedals.  I'm really liking how I can record it clean, then use the Bias FX VST to make it sound like it was recorded with amps and pedals.  

 

I will probably create an account on vimeo or dailymotion, but I have enjoyed trying to make these song my own enough to get past the copywrite filter.  I feel like it makes me put more of myself into them.  However, it is becoming clear to me that you are learning songs to play, while I seem to be learning more about recording and post-processing the music.  🙂  

 

For our next song, how about something that rocks a bit?  Something not acoustical, but something you could turn up the distortion and rock at a guitar store.  I am thinking Kiss - Heaven's on Fire.  What do you think?

Welcome to the championships!  Your rhythm screenshot is good, but your lead screenshot is missing the Streak, so isn't valid.  Can you give it another run and post a screenshot with the accuracy and streak?
