I still encounter a lot of customs with un sync beat map. It might not look like a problem at first sight but it could become messy in a lot of case! So here is the way I do it. It might not be the better or the quicker but it works well for me and it's quite simple because it doesn't require much. 1. The software It's quite simple : EOF (make sure you have the last version) Your ear! 2. The files I will stated the obvious here but better safe than sorry. The song mp3 or wav or whatever that EOF can use The GP file If you don't have this two file, well just go get them, i won't cover t…

Hey guys, with the new updated forums, I might as well share my tutorials here: They're not intented for beginners I think, but more of a showcase of different ways to chart apart from importing from a .GP File This playlist contains all of them: Pyro's Tutorial Playlist You'll see that the first one is 1 video about 1 song, made from chordify. Then there's 2 videos about 1 song made from a text tab. And then there's 3 videos about 1 song made from chordify. If you have question about them, let me know there or send me a message here ^^ I sometimes also stream the charting of songs or help others out. For that you can follow me here: …

Has anyone checked out SPLEETER? I started using it recently for making all my own backing tracks to play with (in Go Play Along). But it would work great for CDLC too! https://research.deezer.com/projects/spleeter.html You can extract out all the tracks, then using audacity, create a backing track with just DRUMS and VOCALS. It was hit or miss until version 1.54, but now its solid and does an amazing job with the tracks. They released a video on how to do it here a while back, but it still works the same:

This is my basic workflow for making the song. This is also good approach for quick check if it's worth to do the song (checking out the tab). Disclaimer: This is not the only one approach but it's the best practice for minimizing manual frustrating error-prone work and it allows you to actually go back and fix anything in the sync, tab, sections or phrases easily. (You can use this tutorial even if you later decide to maintain chart completely in EoF.) Note for tabbing: I have found GP/GPA combo to be great for creating tabs from scratch - I figure out the BPM, sync the measures and progressively fill them up with notes (hearing GP tab immediately or slowing down the G…

The third Way to Chart Customs (With Guitar Hero/Rockband/PS/Frets on fire templates) Advantages : Phase Shift Templates : - Your Song Will Be PERFECTLY Beat Synced. - You've got the exact note position you just have to edit every notes or use the position as example. - Lyrics already included & PERFECTLY Synced - Great Quality Multitracks (You Can create Backtracks when removing the guitar track & keeping all other instruments) I Think Lowering The Guitar Volume To 50% instead of Removing It is Probably a Better Choice. - The RB3 section by Bluzer already content Pro Notes for Guitar & Bass ! Guidelines for Official-Looking Customs rev. 3.2 (2021-04-05) Much of this information is probably out there already, but I thought it would be nice to have it in one place with plenty of screenshots and examples with explanations of how to create them. This tutorial concerns mostly minor details about the appearance of the chart that most people probably do not care about. 1. Basics 2. Sustains 3. Handshapes 4. Repeated Chords with Notes in Between 5. Chord Names 6. Pick Slides/Scrapes/Scratches 7. Bends with an Unpitched Slide Outward 8. Lyrics 9. Crowd Events 10. Tones 11. Misc. 12. Showlights 13. Furt…

Everyone knows that to have accurate CDLCs you got to have more than one tab versions of the song. So here is list of website and resources you can go by. Live/Cover/Guitar/Bass Lessons are easy to find on YouTube and you can go by that if you need to. Ultimate Guitar(being the most popular): https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ From @@Rodman: You get PRO for FREE if you contribute like 5 tabs!!!! - happened to me at least. Songsterr(Its got some good ones): https://www.songsterr.com/ Also from @@Rodman: especially great cause they are trying to have 1 (one) perfect version of every song up, that can be improved by all users. Here is my tip that you are gonna love..... …

Following the discusssion here about bass recognition problem below C1 note and possible creation of 5 strings bass part here is the tutorial to get the recognition to work and to actually make possible a 5 strings bass part in Rocksmith 2014! I. Bass recognition workaround First off, it's only necessary to do this when the bass part have note below the C1. Which means any B Standard or lower and C# drop B and lower tuning need to go through this operation. Step 1 : EOF Tuning change Select the bass part (Song -> Track -> Part Real_Bass or Part Real_Bass_22)Change the tuning (Track -> Pro Guitar -> Set Tuning) following the rule belowFor each strings, th…

One of the things I struggle with, while trying to match CDLC tones to a particular track, is EQ. Sometimes, I hear how the guitar in the recording sounds, and I can get close, but I know that if I could EQ it just right, I could get it to sound perfect. The problem is, I know jack shit about EQ. I know that you can boost and cut frequencies to achieve a certain sound, or accentuate a particular instrument (for example, when trying to simulate an acoustic guitar tone) but I don't have the music production or audiophile knowledge/experience to know what technique best suits each situation. To me, it seems that the most "powerful" (corny word) tool in your effects ars…

OK, so after watching the video tutorial on making CLDC's made by @@SkepticSquid here: http://customsforge.com/topic/841-how-to-make-cdlc-full-in-depth-tut-completed/ some of us still have difficulties so I thought that a non-video tutorial with screenshots and text instead might also be helpful, let's start: I've divided everything into 6 sections, some of them are currently in progress, but in the end you will be able to make your own customs for Rocksmith 2014. So, I keep seeing songs where the lyrics do not have sustain, the words are not properly synced or are not broken up in syllables. Let's fix that! What you need: Ultrastar Creator: http://sourceforge.net/projects/usc/ EoF (duh) The lyrics for the song Got it? Let's start. 1) Open USC. 2) Click on the folder icon next to "mp3" to load the mp3 3) Select the language of the song (required), and fill in the artist/title (optional) 4) Copy and paste the lyrics into the nice, big white box (something something that's what she said) 5) Press the highlighted button that says abc-def: http://thumbnails112.imagebam.com/34888/44d592348875521.jpg This splits the words i…

History You all knew that tabs used beats(BPM anchors -vertical white lines in eof) for sync chart with audio. You know where you can get this BPM values for the song(even EOF can do that, just click BPM - > Estimate BPM -> OK). But when you deal with floatingUn-staticVariable BPM you better bless god that in this song BPM changes won't be more than 4-5 times, cause you know Tool songs and there very creative drummer so we got this kind of issue. How to Solve it? Use this software with presets that I recommend and you'll get 98% accuracy on generating BPM map(aka Beat Map) NOTE: You will need EOF minimum r1271 (now its RC9 r1302 and its ok, DL new version …

Hey everyone! I've been wanting to create a tutorial like this for some time, and I finally got around to it :) Hopefully some of you will find it helpful, and feel free to leave any questions or comments you may have: For further insights into using the spectrogram, you can refer to @@albatross213 's post here (sorry for the numeric dyslexia when I mentioned your name in the video). Also, would anyone like to see any other EoF- based tutorials? If so, which topics would be the most helpful to you? Let me know here

Just as the title says, most creators use GP files to make a CDLC, it's also possible from text tabs. But for songs that haven't got any tab available, you can try it out with Chordify. https://chordify.net/ Works best for easy songs (your typical 4 chord song) (pop, hiphop, rap, punk songs) Also modern songs with easy BPM and timings. In this video I show you how to create a Rocksmith 2014 Custom Song (CDLC) with Editor On Fire (EoF) when there aren't any tabs available. To understand anything from this tutorial I already expect you to know the basics of EoF and customs.I should probably add some subtitles or text boxes later on to clarify some parts. Part 1: Start and…

This will be spread across multiple posts for reasons of organization. For a while a lot of the posts will just be placeholders, but I'll eventually fill things out. This will be pretty comprehensive, and I hope touch on some things that aren't addressed in other tutorials, and also bring together a lot of accumulated knowledge that's now scattered across this site. It will also be in mostly text and pictures, simply because it's easier to update text and pictures than video, and probably less time-consuming overall for both me and you. I'll probably be skipping some of the more basic things that are contained in other tutorials. For example, the basics of what programs…

Dynamic Difficulty is rarely well responsive in cDLC on phrase levels. When a phrase is leveled op or down, identical notes in other phrases don't level. This happens because most of us don't define phrases, Phrases are sub-elements of sections, they subdivide a section. A phrase should not cross two sections, it should not start before or end after a section. To avoid problems, usually the whole song is divided in sections (more or less respecting its note structure) and we check "also add as phrase" 1 section = 1 phrase, while a section can have multiple phrases. We leave the task to define more phrases to the DD creator. It is easy to define phrases by using EOF "…

Although I am in no way an expert, I thought I'd write about a few things I have come across. 1. Like me, you may have some CDLC songs that have huge file sizes compared to most other CDLC. Take a look at your CDLC file sizes and look for any that are hogging up your disk space. The song length and encoding bit rate have the most effect on audio file size. As a point of reference, most official DLC are 4MB to 8MB in size and are encoded at a VBR of 128kbps. These are good file size numbers to shoot for if you are producing CDLC. In this short tutorial, you will learn how to reduce the size the audio portion of an existing CDLC in order to reduce the overall file size. Reducing the CDLC files size has the added benefit that the resulting song loads and play…

Hello every one just figured I would give a quick rundown for how I use custom rocksmith songs for my rgh xbox. Rgh or jtag xbox is required. first download the rocksmith tool kit. Then you will need a dlc song you have already downloaded. (to do this I looked through the toolkit too see what codes are available, I had purchased a few songs on my retail xbox and sure enough i had a song that was in the toolkit, crazy on you) Copied the song from my retail hdd to a usb stick and then opened using xm360 on the rgh and unlocked the dlc using xm360. At this step I loaded the game up to make sure it worked. Now import the cdlc you would like to use or have just downl…

I was asked to try to explain working with multitracks, so here goes. I don't think I've written a tutorial before, so there's your warning. Images are hidden behind spoilers currently because I think most of them aren't necessary to the general public, I can remove the spoiler tags if this proves to be untrue. Preamble Ramble: This tutorial assumes you know the general process of creating CDLC and focuses mainly on the differences in the process for using multitracks. Reading The Third Way to Chart Customs is strongly recommended, as a decent amount of this may be that information just more poorly phrased. A lot of credit also goes to the user todtod, who taught me mos…
