Hey Guys, I just wanted to ask you Guys if you could help me out [emoji16] I just bought a Schecter C-6 Deluxe Satin Black for € 287.82 instead of € 345.50 (shipping € 6,-) at www.gear4music.at/de If someone knows that site oder Dealer, how was your experience ? Are they trustworthy ? The thing is, my old guitar broke because i'm such a klutz. And i don't have any replacement. So i need a new one as fast as possible. So i was looking for a Schecter for a longer time now and thought a C-6 is exactly what i want even tho they don't have no EMG pickups, but that should be no problem at all. So the price was kinda high over here in Austria (Europe) and some time later …

I'd have to say that if I only had one option, Id have to go with a band called.... Poets of the Fall (from Finland) and the song is called "Carnival of Rust." For all of you out there that like acoustic guitars with electric lead layovers, poetic words, and an awesome baritone voice.... check these guys out!

I have begun playing tunes for Karaoke singing with Rocksmith 2014 (just for friends and family). I accompany the amateur singer with my bass guitar, along with the original artists. It has been great fun! Here is how I have set up for Karaoke. 1. Acer Aspire V15 (Laptop) running Rocksmith 2014. 2. Bass Guitar plugged into Fender Rumble 150 Amplifier. 3. Fender Rumble 150' s FX Affects Loop "Send" (output) connected to Laptop PC with the Rocksmith 2014 USB cable. 4. HDMI cable from Laptop PC to 46" Samsung HDTV. 5. Optical Cable out from Samsung HDTV into Karaoke Amplifier (Acesonic HKR-710). This provides three microphone inputs, with separate levels for singers and…

Just took delivery of my new shiny amp :D Peavey vypyr VIP 3 First impressions, very nice, got it for an absolute steal £130 second hand, not a mark on it, some dust but that's it. Firmware needed updated and got a quick look at the editing process for PC, looks very nice... complicated but heh :D The pre-sets are a bit, hmm good but maybe over the top on some effects, lots of reverb and wah when it could have been a bit more subtle, nothing that can't be changed. The amp itself seems very good, better than I expected, it can handle electric, bass and acoustic guitars as well as violins banjos etc. lol The power sponge really works, you can attenuate it down to …

I've always had an issue when connected to my HD500x from my laptop (via USB) when it's plugged into my amp.. Basically, there's a lot of background noise. Just thought I'd share a simple fix.. Works for me anyway.. Get an old USB cable and strip away about 1/2 inch of cable in the middle of the cable. carefully loosen the shielding and see if you can find a black cable. Snip the black cable and using electrical insulation tape, wrap it back up again - ensuring the black cable ends are insulated from each other and from the shielding. Optional - Get a small piece of tinfoil (2cm * 4cm approx) and wrap around the new insulated cable/shielding, then wrap around the tin…

Been playing bass for about 18 months now, thanks largely to Customsforge keeping me interested. Started out borrowing a friend's bass and after a few months I finally purchased my own, an Ibanez SR300 that has been a great beginner bass. A little while later I wanted to add a bit more punch when playing RS and the ability to play outside the game so I purchased a Fender Rumble 100 combo. Been very happy with that around the house as well. What I haven't done yet is add any pedals and effects to my set up (the Fender has basic distortion and a couple very simple tone effects). I've got one cheap chorus pedal that I'm really only using as a splitter to play RS and my a…

Hi all, OK, when I got RS, I had a Squier entry level Strat but seemed to struggle and sold it, buying a bass instead which I have loved and progressed with. Still, it has always niggled me so recently I have been feeling I should retry a 6 string electric but dont wanna spend too much money on one in case I find myself going back to bass for good. Anyway, today in a second-hand store I picked up an Ibanez GAX30. Entry level I know but considering it has a 3mth warranty (so I can get it checked out) and only cost me $45 I am pretty stoked. It seems to sound and play ok in RS but I will get it checked out and new strings etc. However, am curious whether anyone has …

Hi guys, I have an Ibanez Gio GRG250DX http://medias.audiofanzine.com/images/thumbs3/ibanez-grg250dx-528936.jpg And as you can see, it has a Satin/Matte Finish, and I have noticed that in the area were my arm rests when I play, it has become a bit "glossy", do any of you have had this happen to your guitars? if so, have you "fixed" or found a way to return the satin finish to it? I have read about people using 0000 steel wool, but I once received advice from a guitar technician to never use steel wool on a guitar...

Hello everyone I have decided to buy me a new guitar. As I fell in love with Dream Theater and John Petrucci's style I thought about a Music Man JP Signature guitar, but my current income doesn't allow me to go near that. The alternative would be the Sterling by Music Man (one of the signature models) JP60-PRB or the JP100-PRB. The reviews I found were all amazing, but I met a guy which makes a living out of playing guitar and he suggested that instead of getting an Indonesia made guitar I should get a custom made Godin with 24 frets which are made in Canada and I could get it for around 500 Eur. (The listing prices are higher but he said that he can help me with t…

Hello dear custom-playing, riff-repeating, score-attacking people of CF! Well I'm looking to buy my first Acoustic this summer (been playing electric for 2 years now), and I did some research on a fine guitar that won't break the bank & found this. I play mostly bluesy, hard rock stuff on my LP but I'm getting this one mostly for folk stuff + songwriting. It'd be awesome if someone could give me an advice on if it fits the genre I'm going for or if there's a better guitar I can get within this price range. Here's the official instrument link: http://www.cortguitars.com/en/product/mr710f-1 I have problems with embedding Youtube videos so here's a link to Acoustic Guit…

Afternoon, Just wondering if we have any members on the Forum who have tinkered with creating hardware for audio manipulation. I'm currently thinking of making some basic analog footswitches and a Class-D amplifier and would really like some insight from anyone who has attempted anything like this in the past. I'm currently digitising the circuit diagram of an idea and will upload when I have finished. A lot of forums on the internet give the circuit diagram but don't particularly explain what exactly is going on. And it would be great to understand the concepts, so that one can improve or modifier existing implementations. Thanks, and have a wonderful day.

Hey guys, I'm going to buy a PRS SE 245. Does anyone have one? What's your experience with PRS? For the price they seem amazing, and the tone is really versatile. http://www.prsguitars.com/se245/

I was enamored of Dunlop nylon .72's and .88's but recently discovered Moshay. I don't think I will ever go back. The Moshay picks are, so far, the best I've tried. I am using the the medium and the thick. Small size. Try them out if you can find them. Very comfortable, sits nice in the hand. Great contact point. And no, I do not work for, or represent them. What's your favorite pick?

Tried a couple in the shop and actually quite liked the look, sound and feel of them (for a change, as I prefer SG/LP).. Is it really worth an extra £600 to get a USA made Strat though? Opinions appreciated.. :)

Hello customsforge friends :D, hope you all are having a nice week. I've been thinking about upgrading my Peavey Rockmaster (cheapest guitar ever), I've been thinking about buying a EMG pickup, but I'm not sure which one to buy... I don't fully understand the difference between passive or active pickups... the guitar already has a bridge pickup which is not bad, but I'd like a better sound... I've been trying to pick from these two, the H4 and the H4a http://www.emgpickups.com/guitar/humbucking/passive-humbucking/h4.html http://www.emgpickups.com/guitar/humbucking/passive-humbucking/h4a.html any advice would be appreciated

I've been using a Y-split so that I can use my amp and the RS USB cable. It's a 6 dollar Y-split and gets the job done except it creates a lot of unwanted buzz. I can minimize it a bit with adjusting the settings on my amp, but it is still very annoying. Does anyone know what causes this? Any cheap solution to fix/minimize it? I saw on another forum how to use a more expensive splitter to get the job done, but I'm not really willing to spend that much money.

Alright guys I need some help from the collective brain. I have been all over the internet looking for these things. Here is the sort of thing I'm looking for http://www.banzaimusic.com/MEC-M-84201.html But in 500k/500k I'm looking to do the mother of all tonal builds and to make it not look like the backside of a diseased horse I need to come up with this pot. Can anyone help me here? When I'm done it should have almost any option you can name but I need to find a way to cram 9 functions into 3 spots. On the pots I have bass treble volume tone split coil 1 and 2. On the switches active passive, [edit: in phase out of phase] and series parallel. So it's critical for me to…

I'm planning to throw some proper pick ups on a Tele with basswood body and string through body. Maybe Seymour Duncan or Di Marzios, I want a Tele sound, really good for cleans, I already got 2 electrics with humbuckers so I'm looking for pure sound, maybe push pull ready. It seems that Quarter Pounds are to hot, looking for vintage twang tone :)

Hi, This one particularly aimed at Aussies on here.... Anyone tried an Artist guitar? They seem to offer an LP style electric with a set neck at a pretty good deal for $200AUS. http://www.artistguitars.com.au/buy/artist-lp60-electric-guitar-plus-accessories/70009 They claim their business practices are responsible for the cheap prices yet good quality. If anyone has any experience of the LP models, I'd be interested to hear your advice to help me decide whether I should pick one up or save a bit more for an Epi LP100. Cheers David

Hey All, I've been thinking of getting a Fretlight to help with the learning process. I plan to mostly use it to practice scales, chords and such and then as my primary guitar for playing Rocksmith. Anyone had any experience with these and would you recommend it? Sweetwater has them on sale for $399 through the end of the year, plus they throw in a free copy of GuitarPro 6(Fretlight ready), and their dual foot switch. This is the one I am looking to get: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FG521SB Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
