  1. I am curious as to what's everyone guilty pleasure when it comes to music? Mine is Kylie Minogue which is kind of surprising to some people I know when they see that I listen to bands such as Arch Enemy and Within Temptation.

i want a tuner for xmas what i want is a tuner that will tell me what pitch i am in what i need is concert pitch is 440 but some acdc stuff is 428 etc as a lot of cdlc dont have the right pitch but it makes you tune to the cdlc pitch - then i can use the tuner once i have paused the song i hope this is clear enough

Not abuse as in extreme dives but rather a lot of use. I play on a fender strat, and I'd like my strings to last longer than a couple months. I'm currently using ernie ball .9's, I play a lot of blues and rock. I also switch between E standard and Eb standard a lot. I'm curious as to if .9 is a good gauge for these tunings and for blues, what would be a good alternative? My high-e string just broke.

  4. G'day all. I am Greg and I am from Buderim, Queensland, Australia. I turned 50 in 2013 and started to feel mortal. I have a Yamaha TRX-850 motorcycle that have had since it had 0.3 km on the odometer. I build computers for fun now....used to do it as a business. I like gaming....but I am only average at it. Towards the end of 2013 I started to feel age slipping by. So I built two new computers for myself and young William (13) here at home. I even threw in water cooling for something different.....got Battlefield4 and Call of Duty Ghosts.......xmas time......booooorrrrrrreeeed. Started to put bling all over my motorcycle....no reason....just could. Looked at …

  8. Hello fellow music gamers, I just wanted to see if anyone else finds that they suffer from hand fatigue really quickly while playing. I notice it a lot when I am playing songs at full speed and especially down tuned songs. Sometimes, it might happen during my first song, other days I can go for a good 2 hours. This doesn't happen when I'm practising scales or doing slower tab playthroughs. I do try to relax my hand, and use less pressure. I've even lowered the action on my bass so that a gentle touch is all that's needed, but sometimes that just doesn't work for me. Any tips from long-time players

  9. I know that I've heard this part at 0:43 before, but I can't remember where and it's driving me crazy. Can anyone help? Link to the song:

  11. I saw this video from New Scientist demo-ing the impact of "gamification" on learning the piano. Seems to have many ideas/features that are perhaps familiar to people using this forum. I wonder how they encode whichever music notation is supported for use?

I belong to a group on Facebook called B.C. Rich Junkies. We are enthusiasts of B.C.Rich guitars, obviously. The community has decided to raise some money for charity. In order to do this, a brand new B.C. Rich Warlock guitar has been donated by Tim Keyes of B.C. Rich and is being customized by Screaming Leaming Unlimited. Custom electronics will be installed and the guitar will be setup by Neal Moser of Neal Moser Guitars. Neal was one of the luthiers at B.C. Rich who built the U.S.A. hand built guitars when the company was owned by Bernie Rico. Here is a link to the build status of the guitar. http://www.bcrichjunkies.com/charity-guitar.html If you scroll down to the …

Hey there, sorry for the stuipd question, but I search an old RS Song. I payed for the import, but apparently I didn't get all songs. Unfortunately I dont remember Song or Artist name, but melody and cover :D Since i can't hum the melody here i'll just try to describe the album cover. ^^ It showed a guitarist with a skull mask, launching (green?) flashes with his guitar at a dragon. Would be nice if anyone could recognize, then i could get the (hopefully existing) cdlc :) While searching it, I also discovered quiet a few other songs which weren't imported, can i get them somehow? Thanks!

Cream bassist Jack Bruce, gone. One of the greatest of the greats. http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/25/showbiz/cream-jack-bruce-bass/index.html (CNN) -- Jack Bruce, singer, songwriter and bassist for legendary 1960s rock band Cream, died Saturday at 71. Bruce's family confirmed the death of the Scottish musician on his official website and Facebook page. "The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts." Considered one of the greatest rock trios of all time, Cream was formed by Bruce, guitarist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker in 1966. The band produced such hits as "Sunshine of Your Love," "White Roo…

Hi there, does anyone has some suggestions for a good magazine i could subscribe to ( free or payed for ) regarding guitar playing ofc :) something interesting to read with some songs/gear/theoretical information ect ect .. I'm curious what you guys/girls read! Please let me know :)

  22. I'm an 80's rock guy so stuff by band members from that genre really interests me. I guess I look a little sideways at stuff that isn't written by the artist themselves as I really like stories right from the people that lived them. I did enjoy "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" by Crystal Zevon, but REALLY would have liked to hear it from Warren's point of view instead. What are some good ones you all have read?

  23. Hi guys. I'm here to talk about my channel with some songs made by me and my guitar, to arrange and inspire. Hello All, Has anyone attempted to install SteamOS on a computer yet? I know it is still in Beta. I had left my RS laptop at home yesterday and thought I would try it out. I'll include links below. I downloaded and followed directions to the letter and it appears to not write to the hard drive. I put a 500 gig drive in the machine that had windows 7 installed. After running through the SteamOS installed, Windows 7 still boots up. I've used diskpart to clean the disk and then ran the install. Then I still have an unpartitioned disk. I seem to be missing something. What have been your experiences with it? Download: http://store.steampowered.com/steamos/downloa…
