I had a massive WTF moment when I saw your score and comment on the Motorhead song, then I scrolled down to Cacahuate post and everything became clear. You made my day and masterfully tricked OCR scores recognition 🤣

I'm not a fan of this kind of bonus madness, so I don't know if I'll be able to play everything, but maybe I'll try. Most participants seem to like bonuses, so if so, that's fine.

My only comment about the rhythm masterclass path is that it's always difficult to find such charts, so it's a pity to use two in one week, especially since Dark Tranquillity song is everywhere as a bonus.

And I think that the Dirty Loops song should be a powerful God Of Bass, looking at the others scores, I'm almost afraid to play it 😅

... That brings me to my master plan 😈, I did this because Dark Tranquility was uploaded on 11/03/2017 with no updates since, and I see already people are having issues with the chart so...

I actually think there are so many songs being uploaded daily!! Thanks for hosting this week's songs @drand! Just a couple to start out with, I got back from a jam session with some friends yesterday a few hours away.

100% (10) for Dirty Loops, I really need to start practicing my slap technique, at least I can still tap well😵‍💫:


Gosh, I freaking love BTBAM, they are easily my most played band on Rocksmith, although Alaska is one of their lesser represented albums for me. (8) feels about right, but that might be a bit biased. Not too bad for the first run through, just need to practice the middle section:

I also tried RSModsPlus with pitch shifter and didn't managed it 🤣 The only time i managed to get it to work is then a song was Eb and my guitar was in E.

not sure i like the possible answers of the poll tbh, but not sure what other ways to improve it.

I think as long as the old cdlc doesnt hinder the performance then its fine (but i can see how that can be subjective).

The issue usually is when it does have incorrect notes, unreadable, improper beat mapping (which can mean notes arent synced), no arp hand shape, no rr/sections phrases, song starts immediatley/skips part of it due to no leading silence, then probably stay away from it / pick another song or if its just bad in one path then ommit that path. Also i guess depends if its only a section of the song or the full song, but for the most part if theres another song that has "no issues" then yea pick the other one.

An older chart doesn't always mean worse. A lot depends on the charter. For example, charts from albatross, who has been inactive for many years, basically meet today's CDLC standards (only sometimes they have arpeggios instead of hand shapes, but it's an individual question whether this is a minus), so they can be safely used.

But if there is a new, better quality CDLC of the same song that someone suggested, then using the new version seems fine, provided you check the difficulty rating.

I don't mind playing old cdlc as long as they are play tested first and are correctish and playable

Okay seems like y'all are of the Option B group but didn't like the phrasing, I think I fixed it to be less biased to my opinion now 😉 I just want to see a general consensus nothing serious

Yes, that's the Tonelib Jam that I've been using. They offer a 30 day free trial with full features, so you get a lot of time to decide if you want to pay the $45 to keep it.

So I bought a Digitech Drop pedal. Put the Digitech on bypass, tuned the bass to Drop D using the Rocksmith tuner:

Then kicked in the two semitone drop of the Digitech. Without any retuning of the bass, the Rocksmith tuner showed this to be in tune for D drop C within about 4 cents, easy to fix. It felt a lot better without the loose strings, got a slightly improved score:

Then hit the Digitech bypass again, tuned to E standard:

But there ain't a pedal out there that's going to help me out with Armando... this one definitely reminded me of Hot Dog by Led Zeppelin - although I think I'm supposed to be embarrassed to even mention this song...

Nice, congrats! I was asking about this last week, and beginning on bass, I'm a little bit hesitant in investing yet in pedals, but the inconvenience (for me at least) to detune-retune was preventing me from playing some songs, until @drand mentioned the RSMod last week. I've followed the directions from her video and it worked, I was able to play as-is the Phil Collins song I had skipped in the championship the week before. One day maybe I'll get some pitch shifting hardware, if I ever play on another venue than my bedroom or my PC 😅

It's not going well for me, but it's not you, it's me 😅: I'm not even getting a platinum pick for the Thievery Corp song, on EASY! 🙁 The notes and slides sound good to my ears but RS has a different opinion (and rating)... It's rated 2.5, which is lower than the beginner bass songs from the past 3 weeks, but somehow I stumble on this one. I like the song and I'll keep practicing on it, and post my score before the deadline.
I've ran the Valentine Fever song as well. Oh boy, I'm over my head right there. Also, I tend to play this in Score Attack mode, so I can start with Easy and move up, but the song in this mode crashes RS; is this happening to others or is it just me? I'll post my score before the deadline for this one too; I'm motivated but I don't believe in miracles...
