Thx for the week @drand

Lead scores

A quite easy chart, with a very short but more difficult solo. I'd give this 5 for that, but it's easy to boost the score with rest of the chart, so 4.5 is ok.

Fun to play. As others have mentioned, I'd say this is more of a 6. There's no demanding solo, but those riffs aren't easy. I'm not sure about 7, but at least 6.5.

8/8.5. I don't like new Sabaton releases as much as the older ones, but this is cool.

@drand Unfortunately, I won't be so nice about ratings for Rhythm. Tell me you tested Sabaton Rhythm, right? 🤪

2 ok

20260601211729-1.jpg

A little more than 4.5. I'd give this 5/5.5.

A very easy chart. I'd give this a 5 at most, but considering that it's the maximum rating for the Int class, and achieving 99% here which gives you level up to adv, isn't much of a challenge imo, so this is more of a 4.5. 7 is completely out of this world. In principle, Int players could jump straight to Masterclass 😄

Yes Masterclass, but more like 8, most of the chart is repetitive chords.

In my opinion, CaC song is harder than Sabaton, so this should be Advanced. Sabaton is definitely Intermediate.

surprised its only int 4.5 thought it'd be higher but im always happy with harder songs, supposed to be a challenge afterall

It annoys me when you write things like this. Ratings are supposed to be CONSISTENT from week to week. So since the difficulty rating level has been defined for a long time, we should stick to it.

I'll be even more spiteful because I see you played Sabaton Rhythm, where you achieved 99.67% in the first attempt and here you didn't refer to the rating at all, and if you want low ratings, then there should be max 4 for you 🤪

I really liked this one, so catchy! And it's great practice for gallops 🐴😄

Why are the two of them arguing right above me? 😂 I'm not even sure if I should post here, I don't want to get hit by a stray punch! 🤣 Anyway, I will be quiet watching 😂🍿

🤷‍♂️

Well I meant it for the bass path not rhythm. Bass paths were the ones I saw ratings and just remembered thinking it had some kinda tough sections but could be rr'ed.

lead and rhythm I ddnt pay attention to ratings and I thought I saw sabaton as a int bonus path so I made no comments.

Masterclass rhythm is generally a hard one to find a song for. Power metal usually is beg/intermediate in rhythm from the weeks I've played.

Thanks for the new week!

Fast Sabaton is always fun, especially on five strings :D

Oh yeah, my mistake regarding your comment, sorry. I can never get used to the fact that your comments refer to the image above and not below 😉

My opinion that diff ratings should be consistent still makes sense. Now I know that when playing Bass CoC, I should aim for around a 6, not a 4.5 😃

I expected @nlbsmglsk to come in and say I'm being too bossy here, but apparently he's still recovering from the news that we haven't changed the strings for several years and he'll check back in at least a few months 😅

100% is definitely doable. There are one or two notes that I always seem to miss. Hopefully I’m able to 100% it by Saturday.

@Mikson I figured you'd find something to complain about yet again, if you don't like how I host then how about you do it yourself 🤷‍♀️ yes I tested all paths for these songs + more last Sunday, hrs of my time

If you don't agree with my ratings or I made a mistake does that mean you have to be rude about it? 🤔 it's hard enough to get people to host, why bring this type of energy?

Glad everyone else is having fun 👍

The Ne O is so hypnotic it makes you forget about all the other songs. Just remembered to play this one, there are some bits that sneak up on you.

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

PS Another historical fact about Waylon Jennings: He was the bass player with Buddy Holly's band during the 1959 tour. Buddy was among a group that sadly perished when a small plane he had chartered for himself and a couple of other band members crashed. Waylon was on a bus for that trip between concert dates and survived.

I'm trying to make a point in a rather casual way, adding emoticons. I don't know why you perceive this as rude or offensive. If I disagree with the difficulty rating, I shouldn't mention it, right? 😐

It's always been said that participants are welcome to share their ratings, and host should draw conclusions from that and update ratings. No one is infallible, and difficulty ratings are subjective, so the more raters, the better. Unfortunately, participants rarely do this; perhaps they're unsure themselves, or they don't want their comments to be interpreted as complaints, as you say. Great! 🤣

Sabaton Rytm is definitely too high – just look at how easily participants score around 99%. I honestly don't know why, since you tested it. If you're not sure about something, you can always compare it with other similar charts, e.g. Sabaton Poltava (week 546) or Union (week 552) if I remember correctly had relatively similar charts and were rated only 4. On the other hand Fields of Verdun (week 632) had a 7.5 and was definitely more difficult because it included string-sweeping sections.

Pretty much the same scores.. something is seriously wrong with my guitar playing...

@Mikson others also posted their own ratings, it's no problem if you disagree. Just asking please be a little more kind with it, litmus test if it seems like you might summon a "dis gon b gud" popcorn gif or wonder if your old pal Jiminy Cricket is gonna show up, please rethink the extra zest 😅 We usually find the avg rating at the end of the week and adjust then, sounds good?

"Features on new tracks with artists I follow:" oh ok, so you follow on youtube? or on what social media
Haven't seen a music magazine in ages but ill keep my eyes open👀

@cacahuate51 Spotify and Facebook (bands, band members' pages, Revolver Magazine, Metal Stop, Digital Noise Mag, Metal Hammer, Loudwire, etc.) mostly since I already use FB to keep up with local elections 👵 YouTube I think you mostly gotta already know what you're looking for, don't know about Instagram/TikTok. The "US Billboard Mainstream Rock (Airplay) Chart" is a gold mine but requires a subscription to see so I follow a playlist on Spotify that tracks it 😁👌Might be just as good for other genres

Love finding songs on here though, hits different when you play it 🙂 C&C track is on repeat right now, originally heard it in one of @Emmy-Dell's streams and was hype to play it on the CS 🤩

@jimmy655 that is crazy!! too many accidents on the news lately like this (Russ Francis, Greg Biffle, Karenna Groff) 😔 RIP, lucky guy but I can only imagine the survivor's guilt and sense of loss. My relatives recently lost a friend to a drunk driver while riding together, gotta cherish every moment 🙏

You know guys, at the end of the day, song difficulty is extremely subjective and hard to measure accurately. For example, I absolutely suck at chords and arpeggios 😂 but I've honestly improved a lot thanks to you guys and these tournaments. We shouldn't be arguing about this. All of you put so much effort into hosting these tournaments for free, testing songs, and managing the posts for hours. You do it out of love for music, so we can have fun together, discover cool new songs, and share our passion. The real goal here is just to hang out as friends, keep ourselves entertained, and progress with our guitar or bass. So let's not hammer each other! As Kirk Hammett once said, "Why don't we just go in there and just hammer it out, alright? Instead of hammering on each other" 😅 I will probably keep doing facepalms repeatedly if you guys keep fighting, so let's just enjoy the cool songs of this week (mostly the Loverboy one that is completely stuck in my head lol 🤣) @drand @Mikson @cacahuate51

Ah okay! lots of hidden gems i hadnt heard before :) I havent used fb since highschool so its been a while. Just reopened it and learnt theres Feeds now so you can just focus on the stuff you put favorite instead of the main page which has your friends posts and all of that. pretty neat and usefull, kinda reminds me of tik tok but problem there is i do doom scroll too much xD

I havent followed billboard but have heard of it so thanks for reminding me of it (now following it). While checking their profile found this artist and noticed spotify now puts a number on high profiles? wonder if theyll eventually do a hyperlink to see th top 1k/ would be interesting to see. Never heard of her before/ not really my type of music but yea some songs sound decent, seems like itd be in djpavs alley
