there is lots of ways to place the fingers in the chart. The way i have charted that section is you use your first finger on the 3 then you jump/ shift to the 5 place your first finger there and youll be hitting the 7s with your ring finger.

The Blue lanes that are highlighted is known as the frethand position  (where you should have your fretting hand) so when it moves to the 5,  5 6 7 8 are now highlighted cause your first finger is on the 5.

If I had made it so that 5 7s are played with the ring and pinky it would look like this:

It does look cleaner but usually i would just use that shape ( I call it the m shape cause it looks like an M to me  aka fret skip fret skip fret) starting from 5s and up. (so 579) 

When i mention shapes i mean a position you place your hand without shifting.

  When its lower, anywhere from 0 to 5 I much rather shift my hand  cause i find it more comfortable and its funner for me cause then i can add unnescary slides.

Also with M shapes Its good to remember you usually can play last note aka the 7 on the string bellow one fret down so that is also another reason why i probably wouldnt use the M shape on the lower frets cause another shape is more accesible without moving the hand.

so 4 yellow would make a new shape i refer to as the  N shape since you are now fretting 2 3 and 5 

( the missing shape is an R shape which is called that cause you use the ring finger so 5 7 8 😎

Anyways going off a tangent, both ways are acceptable and practical.  Do whatever way makes you enjoy the chart more 🙂 . Whats important is the result/ how it sounds like not really how you do it imo. I thought I had tabbed  it both ways but looks like i didnt so maybe ill change that later.

Cheers for the Information :), I'm trying to get the pinky stronger and used to playing the M shape stuff. I've been trying to master "Shippin up to Boston" for years as that has the M shape over the D and G string and at speed. Luckily steady songs like this and Rodman's lovely practise routines are helping.

Well well... I recorded Take On me Yd.... the way i wanna do it i need my singer... and she couldn´t make the week for horse riding championships of some sort....

BUT we did some fun with the RHCP last week .... so here is some Rodders and Izzena on or under the Bridge.
@ drand  i have the under the bridge guy back especially for you - i think he strikes even harder here 🙂

However hell yeah yeah - very strong cover - real intense and own interpretation!! I love it from the start .... hammer how the drums start it off and then the guitar that is doubled at the riff - heavy stuff!!! ... then the vocals come in and tell us to relax. listen and chill the fxxx - wild! In the chorus the tune fx on the vocals makes it leave the key there which creates a .. idk whats the right word ...  sinister maybe even eerie feeling - just great. And you know i put special attention to songends - you tighten it up like a bomb timer. Thats setting the bar!!!!!!

Thanks, too kind! If I had to do it over again I would probably take off the tune fx and let my squeaky chorus roll au naturel because it sounds mad 😂… and I would fix the bass since I thought I could slip a one-take into the mix but not when @ cacahuate51  is on the case!

Izz inspired me to try and sing a little louder but I think I am too soft spoken to have much power behind my vocals so chill it is 😅

Struggle with that it felt better than what the score dictates

nice and easy Inter couple of playthrough but it would need master mode to win I think
