Idk if it's me and my passive pickups but I can't hear the bass at all lol 

Also took me by surprise it's different positions from the Songsterr tabs I used for the past two days RIP at least the shapes are similar 

First things first  @ cacahuate51 ,  See what happens when I get tuned down to D Drop C - I end up playing other songs and go to bed wondering if I'm ever gonna dance again....do these guilty feet actually have no rhythm.

First scores of the week, almost not playing on rocksmith, focusing on cleaning my playing the past two weeks with exercises and metronome use.

Glad the tones sound ok! Interesting you mentioned the bass tone being lower will take a look at it. I would assume if you calibrated it should be fine regardless of passive or active. So maybe the tone is just pretty low. 

Huh, I'm curious what appears on songster as that didn't even exist back then. When I did the og tab couple years ago the only guitar pro tab that existed was the ones from the other cdlcs which make you go more horizontal across the fretboard. I found it a bit hard to play and I realized they could be played as chords being arpeggiated by ear / fiddling with the guitar so I switched it. For better or worse I tend to not use other tabs,I rely on my faulty ears and if there's a live performance I try to use it as reference (didn't on this song though) . 

If it's the same notes by pitch (which it should be) then you don't have to play the notes in the position displayed on the screen, as it only does it by pitch not by position. So really you wouldn't have to detune your guitar to drop D if you didn't want to/ I had the first version in e standard. I just did it so it'd be same tuning as bass.

Wow that's a really funny lead chart, I had trouble on those high frets (17-20), my fingers get tangled there when I try to use 4 fingers 🫣 7.5/8 diff.

 

 

Wll this song is a good exam to test how you navigate between strings.

@ cacahuate51  You mentioned that we should play an alternate lead as a rhythm but you didn't mark this when creating  week selection, so I'm assuming we're playing a normal rhythm path. Well this is a bit easier than 6.5, more like 5.5/6.

Ok I updated the week.
Rhythm path for hit the floor is now a bonus to intermediate class. So intermediate players feel free to test it out ( i see some of you already have 🙂 )

Ratings kinda stayed the same since not many people commented on them but a couple were moved a tiny bit.

i spilt some water by my interface / guitar cables and ever since i get a high pitched feedback that makes it a unplayable. i hope its just the cable thats bad but heres a friendly reminder to keep liquids away from electronics lol

Here comes. Was no hard decisicon for me what to choose. Always loved that song.
I decided to do a very small acoustic version. So started with one guitar line. Captured by 2 mics, one small diapgragm pointing to 12th fret, a large one pointing to the body right of the soudhole - those got panned to the very right and left.
For the arrangement - for i wanted to do a sad version of course i decided to skip the 2nd chorus and go right into the dramatic themed part. I transposed from Emaj to Dmaj to not have to use a capo and also this is way high enough to sing along for me. Rather happy with the guitar. Sang along then and added a very short 2nd vocal mimicing a guy living unther the bridge joining in in the themed part.
As i recorded with metronome i added a somehow distracting afro-trip-ambient drum line that really gave a smile in the mix.
That took rather long. One hour of getting tabs together and arrange, half an hour of practice the parts yd and good 3 hours today.

Don´t be gentle on me.

I saw a vid that recommended to put mic kind of far from sound hole closer to left hand to avoid noise from picking hand but I haven’t compared, is there a best setup for recording acoustic?

I personally wouldn't really use the active pickups on the Yamaha so it would be a waste for me. Ibanez might feel a little better quality in the lower tier models than Jackson so if you can get your hands on them I would do that

Thanks for input. since then i have been thinking, and i ve found a similar jackson model (Jackson JS2P Spectra Bass BB) with both active and passive mode, and PJ bass so this wayi would be able to try everything. But the Marcus Miller P7 that @ Rodman  suggested looks really good although a little more expensive. more thinking to do 😄 

 

On another note, The pedal you mentionned, is there a point for hardware such as this for someone who doesn't perform? I can do all in my DAW so that would be cheaper and offer more possibilities?

yep they look great, especially the black and white ones! which one do you have? I'm wondering for someone performing on scene, if it's better to avoid black since the audience would not see it but the white (or in general brighter colours would be more visible) but that's purely out of curiosity since I won't perform.

It's veryyyy tempting! 😇 I just need to figure out where to hide it 😄

Active requires a 9v battery that you switch depending on how much you use it/if you leave it connected (but it can last a long time/ idr how long i switched mine and its an easy access thing usually) and generally doesnt need an extra pedal for volume.
 

I guess taking a passive & active bass would allow me to try both. money isn't really an issue though it's still not growing on trees so yeah weighting between a jackson and the P7 right now.

I won't go second hand, I really agree with the rational but I'm just very unlucky so it just never works for me...
