  • First results of the week. Really cool songs. Specially liking the Advanced one "Arriving somewhere but not here" Only thing: I was expecting the difficulty rating of 1 to be easier 🤣

  • Fun but pretty straightforward, I think this should be lower than an 8 rating.   I'd expect to see some players score 100 on this one - but not me since I'm still pretty shaky on my new 5-string bass.

  • Great week everyone!  Repetition is key i think, lmao Yeah, i will have a lot of trouble with that solo, but i will stop being lazy and try to learn it through the week This is

Some improvement. Don't know if some parts are meant to be strummed or arpegio 🤔

Ooof. Those 3 bars are wicked. Strumming then arpeggio... Can't do it without misses

@ Goan Peng  hey, checking last weeks results i noticed you got 100 on intermediate bass. would you like to promoted to intermediate bass? If so you will win last week in intermediate

Have a nice new musweek everyone!

Hell. Easy song. A little practice and attention to fingers change between chords and everything will ok.

Trick or Treat. Sweet solo. Nice rhythm.

I will not play songs above my class anymore. Because everytime when playing something harder I'm getting sad and wanna go and cry under a shower and sell all my stuff.

@ Vodka  the Lead path will soon be updated to at least a 6 as suggested by mikson, meaning most intermediate songs probably arent as hard. I can't solo either so don't worry. That being said looking at scores you have can be promoted to intermediate this week as you got 99 beginner last week. Would you like to be promoted or stay in LEAD beginner? you are currently L Beginner R Intermediate B beginner

Yeah most of times intermediate songs are ok for me. Yes they're hard a little. But playable. Of cource I understand the further the more difficult. Songs that made me frustrating are from advanced and higher. So this week "Boris" canceled my guitar night 😅

I wanna still stay in L B. I need be more sure in myself to promotion. Thank you!

@ cacahuate51  Yes please. the intermediate bass is suit for me,thanks

Getting the hang of the B-E-A strings of the 5-string, but those few notes at the end on the D string freak me out when I feel that additional unfamiliar 5-th G string

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Thought I'd have a go at these with the 5-string - now it's the redundant B string that's stressing me out

Thanks @ cacahuate51  for organizing a week for Día de los Muertos (day of the death) !!!

I am happy that Mexican day of the death is getting a lot of recognition world wide!

This week I may have a bit more time.. I like Porcupine Tree so I wanted to have a try, but then I realized that it is 12 minutes long and rated 7*!!! 😵

I am barely surviving in advance, so that is gonna be A LOT OF WORK! If I manage to get a decent score I will post it, but it seems that is above what I can do in one week...😅

it just got moved down 😛 i only rated it initially high cause of the length. The actual song doesn't have really a complicated solo so i'm sure you'll do fine 🙂

I think the right-hand speed and steady  of this song in lead and rhythm is hard part, it send me 2  more picks to hell , hasher than the Ramones' .

I had to very very very very precise tune 2nd 3rd and 4th strings to play it. Depending on fingers position. Don't know the reason. Strings or 24 frets guitar.

My fingers are dead now....

@ TinMan86

Hey noticed you are taking a screenshot with a phone and uploading directly to the forums. Although you wont have issues for some time you will eventually reach a Max limit of space used in the forums making you unable to post pictures on here. To avoid this most of us use urls as the pictures are stored elsewhere (whether it be postimg.org or steam)

you can set up steam to take a screenshot with whichever key you want by going to steam menu -> settings -> game recording -> take a screen shot.

I personally have it set to "\ " because in my language/keyboard its right next to the enter button so its easy for me to click when finishing a song but you can set it up to whichever key you want by clicking the box.

steam.jpg

After taking the screenshots you can then decide to post via post images or steam

postimages.org
create an account/ sign in
click upload image menu button
select all pictures in the folder of your computer and drag them to the site
then copy paste the urls from the picture to the forum

 steam
asdgasdg.jpg

Go to Profile (top menu selection) -> Content -> Upload Screen Shots -> Select > (click all the pictures you want to upload ) -> share -> share on steam > upload

copy paste the url link of each image to the forum

steam might be a littile bit more steps but it will most likely be the more reliable one. We used to use a site called imgur for the longest time and then for x reason it stopped working one day...so that may or not happen with post img.com but most like wont on steam.

i know both methods are slightly inconvenient but atm its the way to do it / you'll  get used to it 😅

FFS posted on wrong thread again!!

Lets try again

great bass picks this week all seem doable for all

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

real fun quick song

sure I've heard this In a movie

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

forgot this one was It good ?? will have to play again. Lol

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

who doesn't love a little monster mash

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Advanced bass good solid song with three different sections

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

All ratings seem good maybe Porcupine tree could be a little lower 6/6.5

right done

A comment about the bass ratings:  The difficulty of Dokken is pretty uniform throughout, no parts are particularly harder or easier, but it is fairly fast and unrelenting, and so 7 seems to be a good score.  Although most of Porcupine Tree probably cruises in below a 7, there are some shorter more difficult parts that are well above a 7 if ranked separately.    The question is whether the overall ranking depends more on the average difficulty, or the peak difficulty.    If peak difficulty is a factor, which I think it should be, then I don't think Porcupine Tree should be below 7.   Finally, and maybe this is just me, but I thought the recent Baha Men song was almost as difficult as Bustin, and the two are in very different categories.

Another song that's not supposed to be too difficult  but is giving me much trouble is Monster Mash -  still my lowest bass score this week and I can't seem to improve.  The only thing I could think of for consolation is to try to edge up my scores on the two easier songs...
