From testing:

A lovely BB song, only a few fills but they really work well and feel nice to play:

I have mixed feelings about this one...a classic song, it just gets a bit tedious playing all the chord progressions:

 

Fun hair metal...the solo is an enjoyable challenge on bass:

By Geddy Lee standards this is pretty tame. Overall I liked it:

@ jellisjenius @ cacahuate51 @allCSplayers ok... i´ve been thinking about the bass situation everyday, and been checking a ton of numbers. Gotta get that out of my head before w500 organisation.

You are right! There is quite some personal view in that discussion about the incomplete bass files cause my stong believe is that good files, and for me that includes also files that are playable on guitar AND bassmake the RS experience better while others may annoy players (everybody hates the game crashing on a file). But there have been zero comments supporting the maintainance of the standard. And i agree strongly with @ Mikson that this is controversial cause it has 2 sides. Having a closer look at SSL shows

2 problems. 1) There are way to few hard bass arrangements in the list, while looking even closer it gets worse

cause a good part is already by bass only songs (maybe by real bass-only songs, but that does not matter in the case).
And 2) that makes one loser - the MC bass category. And by raising the diff there is even more starve out there.

So what we try is

1) Bass only songs are allowed for the Song selection list

2) We go back to same diff ratings on bass and guitar (BEG: 1-3 INT: 4-5 ADV: 6-7 MC: 8-9 GOR: 10), so rare Diff 8s are dedicated to MC. That may also have the beneficial effect of widening MC a bit (upleveling still at 99.5+ on highest diff song, and players can stay down as long as classmates do not oppose)

Let´s see if those 2 are for the good or the worse, and let´s evaluate for 8 weeks.

Bass inter, struggle a little with this one but its getting there .

my score so far for intermediate bass and I had a go at the rush song and I surprised myself with the score!

I have one I made that I keep hoping gets picked, but you guys are generous enough to have already picked a few others of mine. (Wait by White Lion) but I can wait awhile in hopes it gets called on. 

Had some extra time to take the bass down from the wall today.  Good fun.

We created these problems ourselves by raising the level of bass diff ratings for each class in the past. 😉

The problem is mainly matching high difficulty ratings, so restoring 6-7 for advanced and 8-9 for masterclass is ok. However, for the beginner class, I would leave 1-4, because charts rated 1-3 are generally less interesting and not challenging.

What do you think about this difficulty match for bass?
Beg 1-4
Int 4-6
adv 6-7
Master 8-9

Rhythm:

I'm getting massive detection issues on the pull-offs in the second half of this chart. Dunno why, might be me, might be the chart (I'm betting on the chart). Either way, this makes the fun parts of the song terribly frustrating, so this is my final score I guess.

Hi, it's me the beginner having an adventure with tuning. How do I make it not sound like ass 🙂 ? I got the open strings tuned, but to my previous band nerd ears, when I'm actually playing up the neck it is not good. It's more of an issue on the low strings. I'm on a fender strat with 9-42 strings, should I just accept this song is going to sound like ass? I don't want to change anything else in my setup since I'm worried it'll throw other settings off for when I'm in standard tuning.

@ Argh1992 Sounds like your intonation may be off.   You could take the guitar into a tech to have them check out or search setting intonation on you tube.  If you plan to do this yourself you will need a good tuner (or perfect pitch to the cent).
