I have a question about the song "Stay In Your Grave" by The Black Keys, specifically the rhythm submission (which is under alternative lead in the game). I see some people have used score attack for their submissions but it's not showing up in my game. I can play lead and alt lead in "learn a song" but I can only play lead in "score attack" mode. How do I play alt lead in "score attack" mode?

Alright so they said that it looks like you might have an outdated version of the game older than the supported remastered/learn&play versions so if you want to play these arrangements you would have to update or get a newer version of the game

Enjoyed this one, I'm a sucker for a good pop song 😀

The song doesnt move anchors or riffs so just make sure your fingers are in the blue zone.

If you want some finger independency outside of the riff try playing one note per finger up (so 1,2,3,4 each time you place a finger down you leave it holding the string) and down (4,3,2,1 lift a finger up slowly and close to the string) on the two strings since its only red and yellow (you can usually find it as spider exercise on youtube). Then you can add an open string inbetween each note and try to lift up the finger as little as possible but enough to hear the open string. If that becomes easy you can do groupings like 2 notes with fingers and one open or 3 etc. or then you can do other fingers like 1 3 open 2 4 open . point is to be intentional with what you pick and to be able to do it mindlessly.

I think its pretty much the same riff throughout the whole song but it might change so i would suggest you to either look at the screen or memorize how many bars are the same/ remember which section it changes.

Well it's sounds very terrible because of pull offs to open string.

I'm not a native English speaker. Sorry for mistakes.

Slowly improving. I actually feel like I'm doing a bit better than the recognition suggests but what I'll describe as the 2nd stage of the outro and the second to last stages are definitely still getting my fingers fuddled a little, although much better than the start of the week.

I kinda also wish play counts would also include time spent in riff repeater because I'd probably be at 40 :D haha

I'm going to keep plugging away at this. I think I'd be at 99% or so until the final solo and I lose a heap there. Lots of riff repeating. But I see that as a bonus from doing the challenge. See if we can get it to 98% by the end of the week.

oh no i'm gonna lose my streak 🔥😅

Im imagining your score would be significantly higher if you riff repeated the outro as much as I had lol!

i could list a number of reasons but theyd only sound like lame excuses 😅 (crusty old strings, half a pick that i shredded the tip off trying the death album multiple times, a cheap £120 guitar where recently the nut keeps slipping on big bends and i need to re-glue down, too much cider... 🤣) ok time to lock in 🤘ps happy to lose to a fantastic effort, prefer being kept on my toes... spot on the C for F on the start, how about the pre-solo section breakdown powerchords slightly off but at least still in good tempo? 😉fJmdb4Rs)

Picked up the basics of this pretty quickly. Need to work on predicting the changes and getting the capo perfectly tuned.

A "small" improvement, @JobwanMojo just had to pull me back to play this masterpiece again. Streaks weren't as good, but overall I felt better with my trouble song "Scavenger of Human Sorrow." I'll probably give this another run next week:

Thank you @cacahuate51! I'll focus on that spider exercise you mention, because I think I lift my fingers maybe too much.

OTOH, I'm indeed staying in that blue zone (?), using my 4 fingers, and I also play it quite mindlessly indeed 😅. I go even faster than the song when "rehearsing" for that pattern without the song playing, without thinking too much about it; it's just that my brain takes over when looking at the notes scrolling by on my screen (and maybe overanalyzes what my fingers should do that then I fail). We'll see what today brings (today is a good day 😉).

And that Digitech whammy pitch pedal for bass, I'll pass for now. It's a little bit less tempting with the fact that the pitch mod from the Audio Bridge actually works well.

More progress:

I'm confused on how can Hot Milk be a beginner song; it really was a horror show for me 😬

First attempt on Korn, I might go back to it (RS is very forgiving on this one 😏, not so much on the Cameo one):

But its rated a 4 and in the intermediate path..?🤔 I did want to put it in beginner years ago but its been intermediate this whole week.
Edit : ah nvm i see i did put it in beginner bonus bass but a 4 (which is int)
well on the brightside bypracticing these int songs youll be more experienced for the begginner songs in the upcoming weeks if they are in the right category 😅
