i fell asleep so i appreciate you guys being patient, its a bit later but atleast more people got to participate last week aswell.

This week i chose songs in eb standard. There were alot of contenders (surprised since i dont really play in this tunning much) I think all paths should be good, although dificulty wise some do feel kinda samey so it was hard to judge.

Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood

The Melodica Hook: The iconic, haunting melodica riff that opens the song and runs throughout was actually inspired by the theme from the film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

  1. The "Omnichord" Preset: The drum beat and many of the electronic sounds come from a Suzuki Omnichord (specifically the "Rock 1" preset). Damon Albarn reportedly found the beat on the machine and thought it was so perfect he didn't want to change it.

  2. Del the Funky Homosapien: The rap verses were not originally intended for Del. The band had recorded a version with a different rapper, but when that didn't work out, Del (who was roommates with producer Dan the Automator at the time) wrote his verses in about 30 minutes.

Thirty Seconds To Mars - God’s Eye

Cinematic Influence: Jared Leto has often noted that the band's music is heavily influenced by film scores. This track in particular features the sweeping, atmospheric production that mirrors Leto’s work as a director (under the pseudonym Bartholomew Cubbins).

Relient K - Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5R_xvUb3r4

Chart Success: This was the band’s most successful single, peaking at number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100. It marked their transition from a niche pop-punk act to a mainstream radio presence.

Personal Reflection: Lead singer Matt Thiessen wrote the song as a raw confession about personal growth and the struggle to move past his own mistakes. The "piano-driven pop-punk" style became a signature sound for the band following this release.

Rise Against - State of the Union
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d96W_cKI71o

Political Intensity: This is the opening track of the 2004 album Siren Song of the Counter Culture. It is one of the band's shortest and most aggressive songs, serving as a blistering critique of the U.S. government’s foreign policy during the early 2000s.

Vocal Strain: Tim McIlrath’s vocals on this track are among his most "screamy." He has mentioned in interviews that the intensity of their early hardcore-influenced tracks like this one requires significant vocal warm-ups to perform live without losing his voice.

Lynch Mob - When Darkness Calls
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T11DyiWcPZE

George Lynch’s Signature Tone: The song features the intricate, heavy guitar work of George Lynch (formerly of Dokken). It highlights his "Tiger" guitar style—high-gain, sustain-heavy, and technically demanding.

Oni Logan’s Return: This track comes from the 2009 album Smoke and Mirrors, which was significant because it marked the return of original vocalist Oni Logan to the band after nearly two decades.

    AFI - Dulcería
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5yV1OAC6UQ

The Billy Corgan Connection: This song was co-written by Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins. You can hear his influence in the song's "new wave" and "dark-pop" groove, which is a departure from AFI's punk roots.

Jade Puget’s Production: Guitarist Jade Puget handled the production for the album Bodies. He deliberately sought a bass-heavy, danceable rhythm for "Dulcería" to contrast with Davey Havok's smooth, crooning vocals.

    Mcbaise - Alice
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9iYyqr6ibs

Multidisciplinary Artist: Mcbaise (McBess) is not just a musician but a world-renowned illustrator and animator. He creates all the artwork and the distinct black-and-white 1930s-style rubber hose animations for his music videos himself.

The "Tall Ships" Link: Mcbaise is a member of the band The Dead Pirates. His solo work, like "Alice," often features the same blend of psychedelic rock, jazz, and "yacht rock" vibes that define his visual aesthetic.
